Instruct those who are rich in the present age not to be conceited and not to put their hope in the uncertainty of wealth, but in God, who richly provides all things for us to enjoy.Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;Charge them that are rich in this present world, that they be not highminded, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

Now we are probably just one study away from the conclusion of our studies in 1 Timothy. I invite you to turn there, 1 Timothy chapter 6 and verse 17. Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. There has to be success so that people want to follow your way of life. That's practical, all right? This passage says that God creates all these things for us to enjoy. My journey has been really opened up because I've been discovering more and more how good God is as a father. …

… Let me give you this verse. First Timothy chapter six, verse 17. Charge them that are rich in this world. Are you rich? Listen, God doesn't condemn you for being rich, but God says this. Charge them that are rich in this world that they be not high-minded. That is, don't be proud. nor trust in uncertain riches. Don't put your trust in your possessions, but in the living God who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. God does not mind you enjoying your wealth. Just don't let it make you proud and don't put your trust there. Remember, it is a gift of God and God gives us richly all things to enjoy. Certainly when the Bible says, lay not up for yourselves treasure on earth, it does not mean you're not to work. Because the Bible says in Proverbs chapter 6, verses 6 and following, Go to the ant, thou sluggard, consider her ways, and be wise, which having no guide, overseer or ruler, provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in harvest. …
