… If you don't remember anything else I say, remember this verse 8 and 9. It says, and God is able to make all grace abound toward you that you always having all sufficiency in all things may have an abundance for every good word. Y'all missed a great spot to say amen. That's a powerful promise. I like this verse. It starts off with the word and. That means what he's just saying, it's a conjunction. Conjunction, junction. Y'all know what's the function. It's joining what he's just saying, that you, God loves a cheerful giver, and you've given not grudgingly nor of necessity. And here's the promise that goes that God is able. That's enough to shout right there, that God is able. what will God do? Make all grace abound towards you. God will make all grace cover you. Abundance, that's what the word abound means. He will cause His grace. Now what is grace? God grace, well He's going to make grace. Grace is God's power and presence for you to be what you're supposed to be and do what you're supposed to do. I don't know if you know it or not, But you need grace to be what you're supposed to be. …
… Verse eight, we know that he says, our God is able to make all grace abound to you so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. Notice how often Paul repeats every all abound. He's saying, hey, God is gonna pour this out on you. God is always faithful. There will not be a single exception. In this arena, God will never fail to send the rain, never fail to bring the harvest. That is how Paul attempts to turn the cat of our fear around. And then building on that base once he's removed the fear, Paul then says something that should resonate in the heart of every true follower of Jesus. Look at verse 11. You'll be enriched in every way, to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of the service is not only supplying the needs of the saints, it's also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. …
… is an example. Paul points to these churches in Macedonia. We're going to see him kind of lift them up as an example. And the second passage we're going to look at is 2 Corinthians chapter 9, verse 6 through 15. And what this is over here is basically some truths based on this example. So we're going to be all over the place going back and forth, just turning between these two chapters. But to try to get this picture, let's camp out on these two passages. 2 Corinthians chapter 8, verse 1. Paul writes, service to the saints. And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. So we urged Titus, since he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part. But just as you excel in everything, in faith, in speech, and knowledge, in complete earnestness, and in your love for us, Okay, go over to the next chapter. …
