The God of Half-Hearted Prayers - Ben Stuart
Ben Stuart, 2026-05-25 · Scripture reading

… Peter was sleeping between two soldiers bound with two chains. And centuries before the door were guarding the prison, and behold, an angel of the Lord stood next to him, and a light shone in the cell. He struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying, get up quickly. And the chains fell off his hands. And the angel said to him, dress yourself, put on your sandals. And he did so. Peter in prison, snoring away. The angel shows up. There's this bright light that shines. You can almost picture a Charlton Heston type image here. You've got this bright light shining in the cell, this majestic moment. The angel's there. Oh, he has arrived on the scene. And Peter's just sleeping right there. And so Peter gets struck on the side. Wake up, Peter. We're going to leave now. And so the angel said to him in verse 8, put on your clothes and sandals, which was a good reminder for Peter. And so Peter did so. Wrap your cloak around you and follow me, the angel told him. …
