How to Look Up When Things Look Down | When Eyes Are Opened
Greg Laurie, 2026-09-07 · Scripture reading

… and ran to the dungeon and fell down before Paul and Silas and he brought them out and asked, sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved along with your entire household. Then they shared the word of the Lord with him and all who lived in his household. the same hour the jailer washed their wounds. He and everyone in his household were immediately baptized and he brought them into his house and set a meal before them. He and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God. Wow, isn't that one of the greatest stories in the Bible? So Paul and Silas are flogged. Verse 24 says, he clamped their feet in stocks. They were thrown into a dark, filthy underground hole, a vermin-filled dungeon. Their shredded backs were laid open from the whipping. They were put on hard ground. They were in these stocks that were spread, causing excruciating pain. And they didn't know what their future was. …

Hold On To Your Song | Jonathan Josephs | Elevation Church
Jonathan Josephs, 2026-09-06 · Scripture reading

… The jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. you and your household. Amen. Amen. All right. Now, Psalm 77, verse six, Psalm 77, verse six, the psalmist wrote, I remembered my songs in the night. I remembered my songs in the night. Title of my message today is hold on to your song. Hold on to your song. I come with a word of encouragement for someone today who finds themselves in a midnight hour. The word of the Lord for you is hold on to your song. Give your neighbor my title as you take your seat. Hold on to your song. I know there's so many OGs here and people have been a part of the church for a while, but there's always some new people joining us, maybe in the room or joining us online. …

He and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God. Wow. Isn't that one of the greatest stories in the Bible? So Paul starts out as a prisoner and ends up leading the jailer to Christ. Another heart is opened and now another house is opened. Now the Roman jailer's home would be much different than Lydia's home. She would have probably had a luxurious home with servants and plenty of food. …

Pray Desperately
David Platt, 2026-04-15

… Acts chapter 12. But Paul shouted, don't harm yourself. We're all here. The jailer called for lice, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they replied, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. You and all your household. And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and all the others in his house. And at that hour of the night, the jailer took them, washed their wounds. Then immediately he and all his family were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them. He was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God, he and his whole family. What an incredible story. How did it start? Look at Acts chapter 16, verse 25. About midnight, Paul and Silas were doing what? They were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Every major breakthrough in the book of Acts is coming after the people of God are in prayer. …

A Moment of Crisis
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2026-03-13

… Then he called for a light, ran in and fell down, trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, sirs, what must I do to be saved? I believe that while Paul and Silas were singing and praying, not only were the prisoners listening, I believe the jailer was listening too. Amen. Let me come over here. This is where the response is right here. This is where that point resonated right here. I didn't hear nothing from over there. I'm feeling like it's moving around. It's waving through the church where the people shout and celebrate and receive. But right now, it seems as though the anointing is right here in this section right here. Look at them. Look at all them over there. The anointing could be over there, but they ain't saying nothing. Do yourself no harm. He ran in with a light, fell down trembling, and brought them out and said, Sir, what must I do to be saved? This is such a significant point. …

Praise & Worship Part 1
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-08-07

… and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, sirs, what must I do to be saved? Amen. So they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and immediately he and all his household were baptized. Y'all. Paul and Silas were in jail and they were praying and singing praises to God. I don't care how jacked up your situation is, don't stop praying and don't stop singing. Somebody say, tell your neighbor, don't stop praying and don't stop singing. Tell your neighbor, don't stop praying and don't stop singing. I don't care what you feel like, keep on worshiping. I don't care how low you feel, keep on worshiping. Go against the grain of what your flesh wants to do and go ahead and give God the praise and guess what in due season and in due time and at the

… THE BROADWAY. THERE'S A GOSPEL TRACK. ON ONE SIDE OF THE GOSPEL TRACK IT SAYS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? AND THE ANSWER IS GIVEN, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACK IT SAYS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE LOST? AND THERE'S JUST A BOX THERE WITH NOTHING IN IT. NOTHING IN IT. WHAT MUST I DO TO BE LOST? NOTHING. NOTHING. YOU'RE ALREADY LOST. YOU'RE ALREADY LOST WITHOUT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. YOU MUST CHOOSE CHRIST BY NATURE. WE ARE SINNERS BY BIRTH, SINNERS BY NATURE, SINNERS BY CHOICE, SINNERS ON THE BROAD WAY, SINNERS ON THE WAY TO hell. And so the very first thing I see in this passage of scripture as I think about the holy highway, friend, is there is a decision to face.
