LOOKS CAN BE DECEIVING
Sam Kelly, 2026-09-06

… Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door and they will carry you out. Immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. When the young men came in and found her dead. They carried her out and buried her beside her husband. And great fear came upon the whole church and all who heard these things. I love verse 11. It's like great fear filled the church. Like, yeah, no kidding. Two funerals before the 1115 service let out. I think there would be some fear. The Holy Spirit can be specifically sinned against. There are specific sins identified in the Bible that can be committed against the Holy Spirit. For instance, you can insult the Spirit. You can resist the Spirit. You can lie to the Spirit, as the story here shows. …

David Platt, 2026-04-01 · Scripture reading

… When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died, and great fear seized all who heard what had happened. And the young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. About three hours later, his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked her, tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land? Yes, she said, that is the price. Peter said to her, how could you agree to test the spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also. At that moment, she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in, finding her dead, carried her out, and buried her beside her husband. Great fear seized the whole church and all who heard about these events. What is that about? Luke doesn't include every single story about the early church. Why did he choose to include this one? …
