… who became, as we know, Paul the apostle. In Acts chapter 9, verses 10 through 18, this is after Saul's conversion on the road to Damascus, meeting Jesus. Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. And to him the Lord said in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Here I am, Lord. So the Lord said to him, Arise and go to the street called Straight and inquire at the house of Judas for one called Saul of Tarsus, for behold, he is praying. And in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him so that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he has done to your saints in Jerusalem. And here he has the authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name. But the Lord said to him, go, for he is a chosen vessel of mine to bear my name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel. For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake. And Ananias went his way and entered the house and laying his hands on him, he said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road as you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit. … Look at it in verse 16. It says, and I will show him how much he must suffer for my namesake. Verse 17. So Ananias went and found Saul. He laid his hands on him. He identified with him. And look at the word he used when he talked to him. He said, brother Saul. the compassion you would have to have in your heart to know a person was persecuting and killing your further fellow brothers and sisters in christ but when god put you in the position he gave him compassion enough to not address him as who he was he didn't address him as killer saul he didn't address him as gangster he didn't dress him as hole. He didn't address him as liar. He addressed him as his brother. He was willing to identify with him. And until we start using our story to identify with people and say, yeah, I know my thing was just being a good girl and being self-righteous and not doing it, but that's the same thing as everything you did. And we both needed Jesus. And he said, brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road has sent me so that you might regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit that is so powerful because when we share our testimony it has the ability to be able to let somebody see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit if you would just tell people how you used to act, what Jesus did, and where you are now, it may give them the hope to be able to …

… listen to bear my name before kings gentiles and the children of Israel for I must show him what great things he must suffer for my name's sake from the beginning imagine if we took people in the prayer room congratulations you've given your life to Jesus I want you to know about all the things you're going to suffer now. That was Paul's first day. That's when you got Bible in hand, a little packing, welcome home, welcome to the family card in the prayer room. You're going to suffer, Paul. So he writes to them and goes, look, don't be shaken by these things. We're appointed to this. Now, I know some of you are looking at me kind of a little strange. It's like, wait a minute. I was always taught that if I had enough faith, if I believed, but I wouldn't have to suffer. You were told wrong, friend. You were told wrong. Jesus said, if they hate me, they're going to hate you. If they killed me, they're going to kill you. …
