Miracles Of Power – Part 2
Robert Jeffress, 2026-10-08

… Number one, walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5.16, walk by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Secondly, don't grieve the Spirit. Ephesians 4.30, do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God by which you were sealed for the day of redemption. When you sin against God, remember you have God in you, the Holy Spirit. When you join in sin, you're asking God to participate with you in sin. It's an unthinkable thing. It grieves the Holy Spirit. when you disobey God. Thirdly, don't quench the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God is like a fire. It can be quenched, not only through disobedience, but simply ignoring the Holy Spirit's direction. Remember, Paul said, for all who are led by the Spirit, these are the sons of God. One mark of being a Christian is that the Holy Spirit is giving you direction. Don't ignore his voice. Be filled with the Holy Spirit of God. Principle number three, God's power is amplified by his word. God's power in your life is amplified by his word. Just like this microphone amplifies my voice, so God's word amplifies his spirit. Yes, his spirit is powerful, But when you combine God's Spirit with His Word, it's like 10 times the power. …

Spirit, Not Self - Louie Giglio

Chapter five, verse 16. So I say, you've heard it said, but I say, walk by the spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the spirit, that path, contrary to this path, and the spirit contrary to the flesh. They're in conflict with one another. In other words, if you're trying to sort of work your way out with, you know, two skis on, eventually it's going to be a problem. you've got to make a decision, you're going to be faced down in the lake. They're in conflict with each other so that you're not able to do what you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you're not under the law. The acts of the flesh are obvious. Sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry and witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition. That's what we're talking about. Dissensions, factions, and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. …

This Means War - Touré Roberts

… I also didn't know, Brunus, that the Holy Spirit could give me the power and the authority and the victory to put my flesh in check. so then the scripture started teaching me like galatians 5 16 which says if you walk in the spirit you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh i didn't even know and then i would read things like like in in in the beatitudes which says blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled meaning that if i would just get the right hunger then god would fill me with the right things I didn't know that. So I had a Britney Spears anointing. Oops, I did it again. That's her song, not her. That's her song, not her. Britney's a wonderful person. Oops, I did it again Here I am, oh Lord Standing in the need of prayer For the same thing Over and over And over And over again because I didn't know here's one more thing I'll say because I touched on the flesh and I'm just scratching the surface we'll see where we land today I used to eat fast food I very rarely very probably less than one percent of my diet is fast food now one I did a paper on it in college and I found out what is really going on with that fast food, and I got delivered real quick. …

… But God's values never change. Galatians 5, verse 16 starts by saying, I say then walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to one another. Lord, I want to walk in the Spirit. My values, I don't trust them. My values can change. God never changes. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. Survey says, number seven, explore your options. Now, that's a great thing. That's great counsel. Explore your options. That's good. But listen, again, without godly guidance, it could be a disaster. What if all your options are very, very limited? Bible says in Psalm 27, for one thing have I desired, that will I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, here it is, this is the awe of God, to behold the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Here's what happens. …

… And you can look at chapter 5 of Galatians in verse 16. Paul says, "'But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.'" There's the point. If you want to overcome your remaining humanness, you have to walk by the Spirit. Verse 17, for the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit. Even in believers there is that conflict between your unredeemed flesh and the ever-present Holy Spirit. The flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, the Spirit against the flesh. For these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please. Left to yourself, the battle is overwhelming. But, verse 18, if you are led by the Spirit, you're not under the law. You're not going to be condemned by the law if you're led by the Spirit, because if you're led by the Spirit, it proves that you belong to Christ and the law has been satisfied in His sacrifice. But you still have a battle on your hands, and the deeds of the flesh are still there in the remaining humanness that every believer possesses. …
