Called To Be An Influencer – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-08-16

… God speaks to Abraham. Genesis 26, verse 4, And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven. I will give to your descendants all these lands. By the way, you go search and see, and it's actually the Hebrew descendants of Abraham. And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed. Remarkable. One more. Galatians chapter 3 verse 16. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He does not say and to seeds as of many but as of one. And to your seed who is Christ. What does that mean? David Platt, 2026-06-24

… certainly in the land, he promised to give him land, but also in descendants. God said, I'm going to give you descendants. He gave the promise to Abraham, then Isaac in Genesis chapter 26 verse 4, Jacob in Genesis chapter 28 verse 14. God says, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, I'm going to bless you, and that blessing is going to be evident in descendants like the stars in the sky. Descendants everywhere. And the points of tension in the book of Genesis, do you remember? points of tension oftentimes revolve around barrenness and questions about an heir, descendant coming. And the whole picture was God saying, I'm going to bless you in this way. Same thing happened with Rachel. You look in the Old Testament, you'll see key points where barrenness is an issue. Because barrenness was pictured as a curse. You get to Genesis chapter 49. …

… All the families of the earth. Then God says the same thing to Abraham's son Isaac in Genesis 26.4, Isaac's son Jacob in Genesis 28.14. You're going to be, your descendants are going to be the dust of the earth. They're going to spread out to the west and the east, the north and the south. All peoples on earth, all the nations will be blessed through you. Enjoy my grace. … and I will be with you, and I will bless you. For to you and your descendants, I will give all these lands and will confirm the oath I swore to your father, Abraham. I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky, and I will give them all these lands. And through your offspring, Isaac, all the nations on the earth will be blessed. Because Abraham, your father, obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands and decrees and my instructions. Verse 6, So Isaac stayed in Gerar. When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, oh, that's not my wife, that's my sister. Because he was afraid to say, she is my wife. He thought the men of this place might kill me on account of Rebecca because she's too beautiful. So right away, Isaac and I got something in common. Our women are too beautiful. Praise the Lord. Verse eight, when Isaac had been there a long time, Abimelech king of the Philistines looked down from a window and saw Isaac caressing his wife, Rebecca. Whoopsies. So Abimelech summoned Isaac and said, she is really your wife. …
