I See Angels, Part II - Touré Roberts
Touré Roberts, 2026-02-08 · Scripture reading

That Greek word literally means your expectation. Hebrews chapter 11, when it says that faith is the substance of things hoped for, that phrase, things hoped for, is the Greek word expectation. So faith is the substance of your expectation. Expectation is everything. And expectation comes by the word. When God gives you a word, he's not trying to tickle your fancy. He's trying to give you an expectation because expectation postures you to see right. Are we tracking? Okay. So expectation is the knowledge of what is available to you. I don't know about you. You call me greedy, whatever you want to call me. I want everything that's available to me. I am greedy for God. Everything that God says is available to me. I'm eating it all. I want the salad. I want every course of the meal that is assigned to my life and dessert. And I'm going to eat all of it and lick the plate when I'm finished. You ain't got to wash these dishes. …

Your Next Messy Step

… the stones there, he put it under his head and lay down to sleep. He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. There above it stood the Lord. I like that. I like that God is above whatever I'm going through. That's just a good reminder or refresher for my faith and encourages my heart today. There above it stood the Lord, and he said, I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. Listen to this promise and let it get in your heart for a moment today. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you. When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it. He was afraid and said, How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God. This is the gate of heaven. Early the next morning, Jacob took the stone he had placed under his head and set it up …

God’s Good Design in Creation
David Platt, 2025-09-17

… meet as he goes eastward out of the promised land? He meets an angel. Genesis chapter 28. He dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, I am the Lord, the God of your father, the God of Isaac, the land on which you lie, I will give to you and your offspring. Catch it. Here he is on the eastern boundary of the promised land. Jacob sees God at the top of this ladder ascending to heaven. And God says, Jacob, I'm going to give this land that you're lying on right now, I'm going to give it to you and to all your family. So Jacob goes, he builds a family, and he comes back in Genesis 32, verse 28, to this eastern boundary with all his children. And who does he meet again? You guessed it, an angel or manifestation of God himself who wrestles with him and says to him, Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but what? …
