… In Hebrews 10, 23 says, let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess for he who promised is faithful. So it's not just about the promise, it's about the promise maker. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another. And all the more as you see the day approaching. So as we get closer to heaven, as we get closer, and we actually don't know when that's gonna be. Jesus is coming back. He said, he's coming back, but maybe we will take our last breath and go see him first before he comes back for us. The day is approaching. So what are you doing now? Are you gathering with the church? Are you being the church? Are you serving? Are you on a team? Are you loving the church? These are the days because of that day. Number seven, homestretch. Homestretch, you know this word. …
… true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience, our bodies washed with pure water. Let's hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for he who promised is faithful. Jesus is the perfect leader who never falls or fails, and he has paid the penalty for all the falls and failures of those who trust in him. Full assurance of faith, trust in him. So ladies and gentlemen, look at this world and you will see and feel the effects of all kinds of leaders failing and falling. In the church, outside the church, in the government, in the world, in your work, know this they are not the end of the story the sons of eli and all their successors are not the end of the story there is a leader who has come to save us from our sin and this leader is coming back one day to make all things right. And above all, God's word is saying today to us, trust in him, trust in him. And then, so part of me just don't want to do like end with that, drop the mic and walk off. But there's one more takeaway we can't miss. So I told you that's, that's the best one. But then watch this. Specifically for every follower of Jesus. Number 10. As followers of Jesus, fulfill your priestly calling to lead others to life in him. So for anybody who's thought at any point during the last few minutes, all this talk about priests has nothing to do with me. …
… Hebrews 10, 23 says, let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another and so much more as you see the day approaching. it is not an option for us as believers to take or leave community within the church if we are true christians if we are jesus people we will want to be a vital part of all that god is doing today in and through his people and church doesn't have to be some kind of a miserable experience and maybe you grew up in a church context where it was maybe you grew up in a religion that was all rules and no relationship, and you got drug to church every Sunday, and you had to wear a tie, and you had to sit there quietly, and if you didn't, you'd get your hands slapped, and you never understood what the priest was saying, and it was all rules and no relationship. And so your context of church has always been, oh, church. That's not what church is meant to be. Church should be the one thing in your weekly schedule that you say, I can't live without church. Church should be the context of, I've had such a hard week, I can't wait for church. …
… God in his word is telling us to do. Stand firm in Jesus. Hold fast to Jesus. What we saw in Hebrews chapter 10, verse 23 a couple weeks ago. From the moment you wake up in the morning to the moment you lay your head on your pillow at night, keep your eyes fixed on him. Trust in him. Walk with him. Meditate on his word. Fill your mind with his word day and night. Pray at all times in his spirit. Walk in his spirit. Alert at every moment in battle. And don't say, yeah, put on the armor every morning. No. Why take it off when you go to bed? Sleep in it. Wake up wearing it all the time, close to Jesus, focused on Jesus, meditating on his word, walking in step with his spirit. The key to spiritual victory over Satan is spiritual intimacy with your Savior. Let me say that one more time. The key to spiritual victory over Satan is spiritual intimacy with your Savior. …
