Miracles Of Power – Part 2
Robert Jeffress, 2026-10-08

… They work in tandem together. To just understand the power of the Word of God, listen to Hebrews 4, verse 12. For the Word of God is living, it's active, it is sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing as far as the division of the soul and the spirit. According to Paul, listen to 2 Timothy 3, 16 to 17. All scripture is inspired by God, and it's profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be adequately equipped for every good work. That's the power of the word of God. God's word is God-breathed. It's inspired. You know, I forgot to tell you the end of my story about Billy Graham. listened to him talk. I committed my life, and I thought about the miracle of that night. Have you ever had God do something extra special for you? That night, he did something extra special for me. After giving me that spiritual ice cream sundae of all these events, he put a cherry on the top of it. …

Christianity’s Most Offensive Belief
Robert Jeffress, 2026-09-01

… reasoning. How do we get equipped to do that? Well, certainly with the Word of God. Nothing's more powerful than the Word of God. Hebrews 4.12 says, for the Word of God is living, it's active, it's sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit of both joints and marrow, and it's able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. But it's not enough to just spout off Bible verses to people. look again at the example of Paul he didn't just quote bible verses he used the word of God but he also explained the word of God he was able to come up with those logical arguments that flow out of scripture he was able to use interesting illustrations to drive home the point about why Christ is the only way to be saved and that's the purpose of this series not all roads lead to heaven we're not going to give you just a bunch of bible verses we're going to give you some logical arguments you can use with people, some compelling illustrations to communicate that eternal message of salvation. If we're going to be effective foot soldiers for Christ, we need compelling reasoning. Secondly, we need an unwavering resolve to share this message. …

Into The Dark Realm – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-08-26

… That's the word of God. next. Hebrews 4.12, for the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even the division and the soul of the spirit and of the joints and the marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart. Now watch this. This reality can only be done by ingesting the Bible, by taking on the Bible. And for the sake of time, I want to give you this one word that here applies where it says, take the sword of the spirit. It is the only offensive weapon we have. Out of everything that God gave the Christian human in this physical world, the ability to fight the spiritual non-human entities in the invisible realm is the word of God, the Bible. Listen, you quote the Bible in a demonic spiritual encounter, and you've got power. And that power, I'm telling you, if you've never experienced the power of God and the word of God in a setting like that, I'm convinced that Satan doesn't want you to see that happen because you will walk away with a radical esteem of the Bible. …

Bruce Creswell | The Keys of the Kingdom
Bruce Creswell, 2026-08-03

It is through his word that he opens the door to the kingdom. We read in Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12, these words. For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and the intentions of the heart. I'm afraid that we underestimate the power of the preached word. Look at that verse again and notice the couplets of phrases here. For the word of God is living and active. God's word is not dead history. It works powerfully in the present. Notice that it's sharper than a sword. It cuts deeper and more accurately than any human weapon. Notice here that it pierces deep. It reaches the hidden parts of a person, separating soul and spirit, joints and marrow. and it discerns the heart. It exposes what people truly think and plan inside their minds. No other book, no other way is truth made known than through the Word of God. …

… Let us therefore make every effort to enter into that rest so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. For the word of God is alive and active, sharper than a double-edged sword. It penetrates to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give an account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus, the son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith that we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. …

Speak Boldly – Part 3
David Platt, 2026-01-21

… They disobeyed against the law. They were cut to the heart here. We're reminded, Hebrews chapter 4, verse 12 says, the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates to our hearts and our souls and our minds. Ephesians 6, 17 says, the word of God is the sword of the spirit. That's kind of the picture we've got here. This is not just man's words, not just another book. This is the sword through which God and his voice penetrates our hearts and our minds. This is not just a book. There's something supernatural that goes on when the Word of God is proclaimed. And here it's awakening conviction. I want you to see something very interesting. The question they ask there in verse 37, they say, brothers, what shall we do? This is the second question they asked. If you look back at verse 11 and 12, look at what happened there. After this amazing scene where all these people were speaking in different languages, tongues of fire resting on them, it says, we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues at the end of verse 11, And verse 12 says, So two questions. …

Spiritual Warfare: Part 7 - The Sword of the Spirit
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-04-02

… So this makes all the difference in the world. Let's look at Hebrews 4.12. Let me read this to you. Here's Hebrews 4.12 talking about the logos. Y'all got that? Logos. For the word of God, the logos of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. That word is so sharp and powerful, it can go in and reveal what your motives and what your intentions are. And some of you have been defeated because you don't know the Logos. You don't know the word. You don't read the word. It's not a part of your life. You got a bottle sitting on your coffee table, but you don't ever open it up and read it. Go on and preach, Pastor. I'm doing the best that I can. But that Word is quick and powerful, living and sharp and able to bring life and deliverance and victory to you. …

… And it's showing you who you really are. How about Hebrews chapter 4 verse 12? The word of the Lord is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword. It pierces the bone and the marrow, separates the soul from the spirit, exposing us for who we really are. You get it. This book is not a dead book. Not an old book. This book will cut you up. This book is like your personal Zorro. It will cut you in peace. Cut up your bad thinking. Cut up your old past. Cut up your dirty, filthy ways. If you sketchy, read the Bible. If you slithery, read the Bible. You need the B-I-B-L-E Bible. Come on, clap. Bible. Bible. Bible. Bible. We need more of the Bible. Don't get your 30-minute little fix in every Sunday and think you're going to be all right. No, there's more for your life than 30 minutes on Sunday. Come on, everybody clap for that one. We need the Bible. By the way, I'm excited to announce today we just released our devotional, Zoe Devo, our reading plan as a church is now on YouVersion. …

… And what was that? Well, it's sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and the attitudes of the heart. That's what we mean today when we say it's God breathed. That breath is living breath. And when you open the pages of this most unique book of books in history and in eternity, it moves and it stirs and it upends and it heals and restores because it's living and it's active. The fourth thing that makes scripture so unique is it has a clear and compelling central character. In other words, it's not just a bunch of mumbo jumbo. And I know if you're new to church and a lot of you are, and you're new to faith and you're like, I've never really been able to fully understand this thing. I mean, the Lord is my shepherd. I get that part. but there's a whole lot of it in here that I just don't know what to do with it all and where to start with it all and how to walk through it all. …

Hebrews 4, 12, for the Word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword. First Peter 1, verse 23, being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth forever. Second Peter 3, verse 5, for this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the Word of God the heavens were of old and the earth standing out of the water and in the water. Revelation 20, verse 4, And I saw thrones, and they that sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them, and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the Word of God. Now, that ought to be enough to inform you that God loves the term, the Word of God, because the Word of God uses the very term, the Word of God. And when Paul came to these people in Thessalonica, he preached to them, and he says in the first chapter, our Word, turn over to the second chapter, and look in verse 13. …
