Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we profess.Having then a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let’s hold tightly to our confession.Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

The Fatherhood of God
David Platt, 2026-07-01

… and then you see in Christ everything changed Hebrews chapter 4 verse 14 through 16 we have confidence to enter the throne of God confidence to come before God we are not afraid of God in some unhealthy way not afraid of God we are now friends of God friends of God Romans 8 says you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear but you received the spirit of sonship and by him we cry Abba, Father, not afraid, friends of God, welcomed into the presence of God, access to His presence, and we have an inheritance in the Father's kingdom. Inheritance of the Father's kingdom. The Spirit Himself bears witness, Romans 8, 16 and 17. The Spirit Himself bears witness that we are God's children. And if we are children, check this out, we are heirs. Heirs with God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we may share in His sufferings, in order that one day we will share in His glory. … to whom we must give an account. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus, the son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith that we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Now we get a new picture of Jesus. Verse two, son of God, last word, final word from God, Jesus. Now verse two continues. There are eight, let's name them. One, whom he appointed heir of all things. Two, through whom he created the world. Three, he is the radiance of the glory of God. Four, he is the exact imprint of his nature. Five, he opposes the universe by the word of his power. six after making purification for sins seven he sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high eight he has become superior to angels there's no one like this I'm going to leave that last one for Kenny. He is doing verse 4 through the end of the chapter on the superiority over angels next week. But I have to say one word about superiority over angels because you might stumble over the word become. …

… verse 13, says something very interesting. He says that that's not the right verse. I don't know what the verse is. There it is, verse 14 that I gave you earlier. Since we have a great high priest… Everybody say, Jesus is high, who has ascended into heaven. This is after his resurrection. Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he did not sin. Here's your shouting verse. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence. somebody shout he's here so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of success our time of blessing our time of wholeness our time of completeness all of that is true too but if you are in the hour of need right now i know a name that is greater than your need i don't care what need you name. Name cancer. Name bankruptcy. Name divorce. Name hatred. Name evil. …
