For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who was tempted in every way that we are, yet was without sin.For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

perfect mediator the writer of hebrews said we don't have a high priest who is unable to be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin. The perfect mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. If you were to come to my house, and I'll give you a little bit of quick history as we close this, I do not have a good relationship with the ant world. partially because I grew up as a boy, and boys, when they see anthills, rush inside to get what? A magnifying glass to hold and let the sun burn the ants, and a little boy loves watching that happen. Okay, call it gross, call it imbalanced. We're boys. Now, I've grown up. I don't get the magnifying glass when I see ants, but if I see them in the house, I do go under the counter and I get raid. Let's say you come over to my house and you know my propensity to kill ants. You, on the other hand, love all of God's creatures alike, even ants, and you come over and I see ants and I go, oh, those stupid ants, and I reach to get my raid. …
… and then you see in Christ everything changed Hebrews chapter 4 verse 14 through 16 we have confidence to enter the throne of God confidence to come before God we are not afraid of God in some unhealthy way not afraid of God we are now friends of God friends of God Romans 8 says you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear but you received the spirit of sonship and by him we cry Abba, Father, not afraid, friends of God, welcomed into the presence of God, access to His presence, and we have an inheritance in the Father's kingdom. Inheritance of the Father's kingdom. The Spirit Himself bears witness, Romans 8, 16 and 17. The Spirit Himself bears witness that we are God's children. And if we are children, check this out, we are heirs. Heirs with God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we may share in His sufferings, in order that one day we will share in His glory. Oh, brothers and sisters, children of God, be free from the pursuit of pleasures and possessions, plaudits in this world. …
… than Hezekiah had. Let me show it to you in Hebrews 4, verses 15 and 16. He says, For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weakness, but was in all points tempted as we are yet without sin. Verse 16. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in a time of need. Listen, you don't need to fly and go into some earthly temple. You can go straight into the presence of God. Why? Because of what Christ has done for you. Hezekiah went into a building. You get to go into his presence. And you go straight to him. John Phillips is helpful here. One of my favorite commentators, he says this. He says, in the Old Testament times, the ordinary Israelite could not approach the Holy of Holies where God was enthroned. That is the inner room of the temple. For that was the sole annual prerogative of the high priest, meaning the high priest did it once a year. …
… let us hold firmly to the faith that we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Now we get a new picture of Jesus. Matthew tells us that Jesus said that he is gentle and lowly of heart, but Hebrews adds to us and tells us that Jesus is our great high priest. The job of the priest in the Old Testament was to represent the people to God. Jesus came to earth and he lived in human form. He was tempted, the scripture just told us, in every way, but he knew no sin. That means that he can be our high priest. He not only knows all of the things that we carry that are making us feel weary, he is a priest who empathizes with our weaknesses, meaning he actually knows how we feel. And because of his work on the cross, we can look at that last verse again. This has got to be the most beautiful verse in the entire Bible, maybe one of. It says this, look at it, verse 16. …
… Everybody say, Jesus is high, who has ascended into heaven. This is after his resurrection. Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he did not sin. Here's your shouting verse. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence. somebody shout he's here so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of success our time of blessing our time of wholeness our time of completeness all of that is true too but if you are in the hour of need right now i know a name that is greater than your need i don't care what need you name. Name cancer. Name bankruptcy. Name divorce. Name hatred. Name evil. I know a name that is greater, and when I call it, he answers. High five at least five people say he answers. …
… his very throne is grace since then we have a great high priest who's ascended into heaven Jesus the son of God let us hold firmly to the faith we profess for we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses but we have one who has been tempted in every way just as we are yet he did not sin let us then hello approach God's throne this amazing throne of God. Oh, it says more about the throne. God's throne of, say it, with grace, with confidence, so that we may receive from this throne of grace, mercy, and find grace to help us in our time of need. The very throne of God is grace. Praise God. Grace was the greeting of the early church. They didn't say, hey, how you doing? They said, grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians, Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God to God's holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus. …
… house we are. Hebrews 4.15, a high priest who can sympathize with our weaknesses. And then Hebrews 9, 11, and 12 gives a specific function of this high priest. When Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come, that's our future, he entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, not like a high priest, didn't go into a tent or a temple. And He didn't go through the blood of bulls and calves, but through His own blood He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. He comes as the high priest who has obtained eternal redemption. What is that saying? You remember that the high priest, before he went into the Holy of Holies, had to offer a sacrifice, a sacrifice for the sins of the people and a sacrifice for his own sins, and then he could, on Yom Kippur, go into the presence of God. Well, our High Priest has entered into the presence of God not by blood from bulls and goats, but by His own blood He has purchased our redemption and entered into the presence of God. …
