Sermons on Isaiah 11:3

And He will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what His eyes see, and He will not decide by what His ears hear,His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:And his delight shall be in the fear of Jehovah; and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither decide after the hearing of his ears;

Long Lay the World in Sin and Error Pining
Adam Hamilton, 2025-12-07

… who would bring peace into the land. Or I think of these words in Isaiah chapter 11, verses three and four, delight the king that they yearn for would delight in fearing the Lord. He won't judge by appearances nor decide by hearsay. He will judge the needy with righteousness. There it is with compassion. and empathy and care for them and decide with equity for those who suffer in the land. That's the kind of king they were yearning for and hoping for. I can't believe I made it. We have three minutes and 30 seconds left. That should, any unbelievers, that should prove to you there's a God in heaven. Now, hey, how about if we do this? You want to repeat this? This is unrehearsed, so be nice. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. …

Isaiah gives a lot of other wonderful aspects of the kingdom we don't have time to look over, but we know that when the king comes, every knee will bow to him. All nations will see his glory. Perfect justice and fairness will reign. Righteousness and truth will dominate. Peace everywhere, economic blessing, long life, no wars, safety, joy, followed by a a new heaven and a new earth." That's what Paul is telling us by reaching back to these passages. But for a moment, let's consider them. You know what the urban mandate is? To proclaim judgment. That is the urban mandate. And if you want to know why I say that, go to Matthew chapter 11, and that's what Jesus did. Woe to you, Chorazin, woe to you, Bethsaida. It'll be better for Sodom and Gomorrah than it's going to be for you. …
