1“Here is My Servant, whom I uphold, My Chosen One, in whom My soul delights. I will put My Spirit on Him, and He will bring justice to the nations.“Behold, my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen, in whom my soul delights: I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations.Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.2He will not cry out or raise His voice, nor make His voice heard in the streets. He will not shout, nor raise his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. He will not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.3A bruised reed He will not break and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice. He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice.A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.A bruised reed will he not break, and a dimly burning wick will he not quench: he will bring forth justice in truth.4He will not grow weak or discouraged before He has established justice on the earth. In His law the islands will put their hope.”He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice on the earth, and the islands wait for his law.”He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.He will not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law.5This is what God the LORD says—He who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and its offspring, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk in it:God Yahweh, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it, says:Thus saith God the Lord, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:Thus saith God Jehovah, he that created the heavens, and stretched them forth; he that spread abroad the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:6“I, the LORD, have called you for a righteous purpose, and I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and appoint you to be a covenant for the people and a light to the nations,“I, Yahweh, have called you in righteousness. I will hold your hand. I will keep you, and make you a covenant for the people, as a light for the nations,I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;I, Jehovah, have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thy hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;7to open the eyes of the blind, to bring prisoners out of the dungeon and those sitting in darkness out from the prison house.to open the blind eyes, to bring the prisoners out of the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison. To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.8I am the LORD; that is My name! I will not yield My glory to another or My praise to idols.“I am Yahweh. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to engraved images.I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.9Behold, the former things have happened, and now I declare new things. Before they spring forth I proclaim them to you.”Behold, the former things have happened and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up.”Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.10Sing to the LORD a new song—His praise from the ends of the earth—you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who dwell in them.Sing to Yahweh a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the islands and their inhabitants.Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.Sing unto Jehovah a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth; ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.11Let the desert and its cities raise their voices; let the villages of Kedar cry aloud. Let the people of Sela sing for joy; let them cry out from the mountaintops.Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voices, with the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing. Let them shout from the top of the mountains!Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit; let the inhabitants of Sela sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.12Let them give glory to the LORD and declare His praise in the islands.Let them give glory to Yahweh, and declare his praise in the islands.Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands.Let them give glory unto Jehovah, and declare his praise in the islands.13The LORD goes forth like a mighty one; He stirs up His zeal like a warrior. He shouts; yes, He roars in triumph over His enemies:Yahweh will go out like a mighty man. He will stir up zeal like a man of war. He will raise a war cry. Yes, he will shout aloud. He will triumph over his enemies. The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.Jehovah will go forth as a mighty man; he will stir up his zeal like a man of war: he will cry, yea, he will shout aloud; he will do mightily against his enemies.14“I have kept silent from ages past; I have remained quiet and restrained. But now I will groan like a woman in labor; I will at once gasp and pant.“I have been silent a long time. I have been quiet and restrained myself. Now I will cry out like a travailing woman. I will both gasp and pant.I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry out like a travailing woman; I will gasp and pant together.15I will lay waste the mountains and hills and dry up all their vegetation. I will turn the rivers into dry land and drain the marshes.I will destroy mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs. I will make the rivers islands, and will dry up the pools.I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.I will lay waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and will dry up the pools.16I will lead the blind by a way they did not know; I will guide them on unfamiliar paths. I will turn darkness into light before them and rough places into level ground. These things I will do for them, and I will not forsake them.I will bring the blind by a way that they don’t know. I will lead them in paths that they don’t know. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. I will do these things, and I will not forsake them. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. And I will bring the blind by a way that they know not; in paths that they know not will I lead them; I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. These things will I do, and I will not forsake them.17But those who trust in idols and say to molten images, ‘You are our gods!’ will be turned back in utter shame.“Those who trust in engraved images, who tell molten images, ‘You are our gods,’ will be turned back. They will be utterly disappointed. They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods. They shall be turned back, they shall be utterly put to shame, that trust in graven images, that say unto molten images, Ye are our gods.18Listen, you deaf ones; look, you blind ones, that you may see!“Hear, you deaf, and look, you blind, that you may see.Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.19Who is blind but My servant, or deaf like the messenger I am sending? Who is blind like My covenant partner, or blind like the servant of the LORD?Who is blind, but my servant? Or who is as deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is as blind as he who is at peace, and as blind as Yahweh’s servant?Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the Lord’s servant?Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I send? who is blind as he that is at peace with me, and blind as Jehovah’s servant?20Though seeing many things, you do not keep watch. Though your ears are open, you do not hear.”You see many things, but don’t observe. His ears are open, but he doesn’t listen.Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.Thou seest many things, but thou observest not; his ears are open, but he heareth not.21The LORD was pleased, for the sake of His righteousness, to magnify His law and make it glorious. It pleased Yahweh, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law and make it honorable. The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable. It pleased Jehovah, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.22But this is a people plundered and looted, all trapped in caves or imprisoned in dungeons. They have become plunder with no one to rescue them, and loot with no one to say, “Send them back!”But this is a robbed and plundered people. All of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prisons. They have become captives, and no one delivers, and a plunder, and no one says, ‘Restore them!’But this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore. But this is a people robbed and plundered; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison-houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore.23Who among you will pay attention to this? Who will listen and obey hereafter?Who is there among you who will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come?Who among you will give ear to this? who will hearken and hear for the time to come?Who is there among you that will give ear to this? that will hearken and hear for the time to come?24Who gave Jacob up for spoil, and Israel to the plunderers? Was it not the LORD, against whom we have sinned? They were unwilling to walk in His ways, and they would not obey His law.Who gave Jacob as plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Didn’t Yahweh, he against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in his ways, and they disobeyed his law.Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not the Lord, he against whom we have sinned? for they would not walk in his ways, neither were they obedient unto his law.Who gave Jacob for a spoil, and Israel to the robbers? did not Jehovah? he against whom we have sinned, and in whose ways they would not walk, neither were they obedient unto his law.25So He poured out on them His furious anger and the fierceness of battle. It enveloped them in flames, but they did not understand; it consumed them, but they did not take it to heart. Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him, and the strength of battle. It set him on fire all around, but he didn’t know. It burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.”Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart. Therefore he poured upon him the fierceness of his anger, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.
