Sermons on Isaiah 55:10

For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat,For as the rain comes down and the snow from the sky, and doesn’t return there, but waters the earth, and makes it grow and bud, and gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater;For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater;

… than any book that I've written. So you want to start with his book. Start with scripture. everything flows from that listen to isaiah 55 as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven this is perfect for the last few days as the rain comes down and the snow from heaven do and do not return there but water the earth and make it bring forth and bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. So you get up, you take your Bible and you pray. I like to begin by saying, Father, I seek you forgive me of my sins cleanse me of my unrighteousness teach me something give me a hunger for your truth and the reason I think it's important to begin that way is because anything we do over and over and over again repeatedly can become routine even if it's a good thing it can become routine and therefore boring and we can just sort of do it legalistically and it becomes sort of empty to us so so you want to ask the lord's favor in this meeting in conversation you're going to start with him in the morning and let me add to this um by saying slower is better than faster yeah but I didn't cover all my chapters slower is better than faster I think there's room for …

The mustard seed, traditionally thought of as the smallest seed, grows into a large garden plant. Don't discount what the word of Jesus is doing in your life and in the church. Says Dr. Veltz, the reign and rule of God in Jesus is not in and of itself magnificent, at least not by normal worldly standards. Its results, however, are magnificent. …

… the Bible says, for God so loved that, what do you do? Stop it. Just stop. Keep it conversational. There's power in the Word of God. It has built in power. Isaiah 55.10. God says, as the rain comes down from heaven and the snow comes down, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It will not return to me void. It will accomplish what I please. It will prosper and the thing in which I send it. The word has power. And sometimes you'll share it and a person will say, I don't believe that. I don't accept that. Share it anyway. Sometimes people will say, well don't quote the Bible to me. I don't believe in the Bible. Should you stop quoting the Bible? No. Because it's a sword of the Spirit. Use the sword. If someone said to you and you're holding a sword, I don't believe that sword is sharp. Really? Check this out. Now, I'm speaking figuratively. You understand, right? We don't mean literal swords. …
