… return there but water the earth and make it bring forth and bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. So you get up, you take your Bible and you pray. I like to begin by saying, Father, I seek you forgive me of my sins cleanse me of my unrighteousness teach me something give me a hunger for your truth and the reason I think it's important to begin that way is because anything we do over and over and over again repeatedly can become routine even if it's a good thing it can become routine and therefore boring and we can just sort of do it legalistically and it becomes sort of empty to us so so you want to ask the lord's favor in this meeting in conversation you're going to start with him in the morning and let me add to this um by saying slower is better than faster yeah but I didn't cover all my chapters slower is better than faster I think there's room for both but I'm gonna I'm gonna make a pitch for meditating on the scripture not just reading it but meditating on it it's a good bible word by the way meditate Joshua 1 8 the book of the law shall not depart from your mouth but you shall meditate on it day and night that you may observe …
… and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55, verses 10 and 11. Tell me a story. I have one more for today's message, and this is another story from Jesus about seeds. Again he said, what shall we say the kingdom of God is like? Or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest seed you plant in the ground. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants with such big branches that the birds of the air can perch in its shade. Mark chapter 4, verses 30 through 32. The mustard seed, traditionally thought of as the smallest seed, grows into a large garden plant. Don't discount what the word of Jesus is doing in your life and in the church. Says Dr. Veltz, the reign and rule of God in Jesus is not in and of itself magnificent, at least not by normal worldly standards. Its results, however, are magnificent. …
… and make it bring forth in bud that it might give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. The product works. The Bible works. It's not like the vacuum salesman who comes to the door of a woman out in the country and comes with his high intensity spiel to sell his product. He kind of barges his way into her house. She's out in the middle of the country and says, ma'am, this vacuum cleaner is the greatest thing you've ever seen. It'll take up anything that's on your floor. And then he goes over to her fireplace, gets dust and ashes out of the fireplace, throws it on her white carpet and says, if this vacuum doesn't take every bit of dirt from your carpet, I'll personally eat it with a spoon. …
… To ensure effectiveness, use only the word of God. All scripture is guaranteed. It's your responsibility to take your medicine. Isaiah 55 11. And so if you think I'm making that up, I have one right here. But it's very effective. What's my point? It's actually a very cute thing to do this way. They walk away with it, and they are accustomed to, I can go to the pharmacy, and I can get ibuprofen or whatever you get. Well, if I can do that at Walmart, then why can't I take this now and go home and open up my Bible and get it all out for me for whatever I want, because it is God's will that you be set free from those things that bind you. God wants you free. treasure his word in your heart. And he tells us to apply the word, to make application, to spread it out, the Bible tells us. To apply the word of God, extending by turning towards is what that means. …
There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised through his servant Moses. Isaiah 55 says, so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish what I please. And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. I love it. This is the God we worship. And that's what we need to celebrate every day. Now, His ways are higher than our ways. I think God needs to do it. No, no, no. Don't think. We don't pay you to think. You don't need to think. Just worship the Lord and trust that His ways are higher than our ways. Thank God. Isaiah 55 says, My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. You see, when he was about to bring the people of Israel back to their land after the Holocaust, he didn't call Tucker and say, is that okay? …
