… but he is the king and that means he has a kingdom and when we look at this I hope this is a blessing to you that why why the newborn king we see in Isaiah chapter 7 verse 14 and I'm I'm deliberately using more and more Old Testament passages as we are in this Christmas series to show you the veracity of your New Testament and to provoke anyone who is Jewish to know that their Hebrew scriptures announce the Christmas that we're celebrating, the coming of the Messiah, Christ. We say Christmas. You could also say Messiah Mass. It's the same words. To gather around the Messiah. Where does that come from? From the ancient Hebrew prophet Isaiah. Isaiah chapter 7 verse 14. Your house is already full of this Christmas card. Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Show you a miracle. An indicator. An announcement. … which is translated God with us. Now folks, that's Isaiah chapter 7 verse 14. And again, in the future, Jews reading Matthew, this is going to really matter. Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel commanded him and took to him his wife and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn son and he called his name Jesus. Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king. Behold, wise men, magi, more specifically, from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east and have come to worship him. When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Before I read verse 4, there's a good reason why Herod's troubled. we know very little about the magi we mentioned that on Sunday but don't think for a moment based on your nativity scene at your house that there was only three of them I don't know why we get that we think three we call them three kings that's not the bible that's a song we assume there's three kings because there's three gifts there could have been three gifts piled up a pile of myrrh a pile of frankincense and a pile of gold we don't know but we do not know nobody knows how many magi came but the ancient records of magi in Babylon these were the top of the top of brains …

… find out that the Messiah is going to come out of a certain woman out of that family. Isaiah chapter seven verse 14, A VERY unusual woman, she is going to be a virgin. You push another number and you find out where this woman is going to be when Messiah is born. In Micah five verse two, it must be in Bethlehem. Then you push another number and you get the time where Messiah is going to be born in Bethlehem of this woman, of that family, of that tribe, of that nation, of that section of that race. The phone rings and Jesus is on the other end. I mean, dear friend, it's just, it, God just keeps on, uh, tightening the focus. It, it's incredible how the scripture is fulfilled in the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said, I didn't come to destroy the Old Testament, I came to fulfill it. It is amazing how these Old Testament prophets painted a portrait of Lord Jesus. Could you paint a portrait of somebody having not seen him? Huh, well, they painted a portrait of Jesus and filled in such detail. It's incredible. And not just one person worked on that portrait. Twenty to twenty-FIVE, UH, people painted that portrait centuries before the Lord Jesus Christ ever came, and they painted a word portrait of the Lord Jesus Christ and filled in the details. Did all of that happen just by chance? Peter stoner has written a book called science speaks. And, and he takes the prophecies of the Lord Jesus Christ. And, …
