But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you.But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said unto you.

… no more, but you will see me. And because I live, you will live also. Now he elaborates on it. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you. Peace I give to you. Not as the world gives. Let not your hearts be troubled. Neither let them be afraid. So this is a pivotal point in the ministry of our Lord. He's saying, guys, I'm going to have to leave you. You know, I'm going to go to be with the Father. I'm going to ascend to heaven after, of course, I die on the cross. But I'm not gonna leave you alone. I'm not gonna leave you as an orphan. You know, that's a scary thing for a child to be abandoned. I remember years ago when I was a little boy living in New Jersey. My mother had married one of her many husbands. …
… but if you live according to the spirit you will put to death the deeds of the body and then you will live oh how about this John 14 verse 26 but the helper the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name he will teach you all things and he'll bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. How about chapter 16? Nevertheless, I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away, the helper will not come to you. But if I depart, I will send him to you. And when he has come, he will convict you of sin and righteousness and of judgment. Now how about verse 13? However, when the spirit of truth has come, he will guide you into all truth for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears, he will speak and he will tell you all things to come. He will glorify me and he will not take of what is mine and he will take what is mine and declare it to you. Last one, chapter 15, verse 26. When the advocate comes, whom I send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. The Holy Spirit never makes much of himself. The Holy Spirit lives to point you to Jesus. Have you ever had a friend or you ever been in a conversation and the person …
The Holy Spirit teaches us. John 14.26, the helper, Jesus says, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and will bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you. Have you ever had a time where you're just reading the Bible and all of a sudden it just comes alive? A verse just jumps off the page and it speaks to you so directly. That's exactly what you needed to hear. Or has there been another occasion where maybe you're sharing your faith with someone or encouraging or ministering to someone. And suddenly a verse that you don't even remember memorizing jumps into your brain and you're quoting it perfectly. And you're saying, how did that happen? That is the work of the Holy Spirit teaching you and bringing things to your remembrance. And also the Holy Spirit leads us. Romans 8.14 says, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. …
… but the advocate, there he is again, the Holy Spirit, now we're getting clarification on this spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. So there's an unbroken connection I don't want us to miss today between Jesus and the Spirit of God. They are linked together not only as community of God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, but their missions within that community are linked together. And the Spirit ultimately is going to refresh our minds continually to the truth and the words and the person of Jesus Christ. But the main thing, and it's a simple thing that I want you to not miss in these earlier verses that we read are the pronouns. I'll ask the father, verse 16, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. The spirit of truth. Now look at this next phrase. The world cannot accept who? The world cannot accept who? Him. The world cannot accept Him. Not it, but Him. And it's important before we take one more step today that we all get on board with the idea that the Holy Spirit is a person, a personality, a Him, not an it, not a thing. We don't pray, God, send your spirit and let let it move among us today. No, we say, Holy Spirit, come and you move among us today. …
… Verse 26 tells us who that will be. but the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name or in my place. He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. It's a wonderful promise. Men, you are not going to be alone. You won't have me here in the flesh, but the faithful Father, the Father God of heaven, will send in my place the Holy Spirit. And you can depend on Him. That's implied. Now specifically, the disciples would receive the Spirit at Pentecost. By application, believers today receive the Spirit of God at salvation. You need never pray, God, send your spirit. Many hymns are written with that same request. Send your spirit. I'm sure the writer occasionally means, bring him upon us in filling power. But the idea of sending the Spirit is erroneous. It's confusing. From Pentecost on, the Spirit of God has found residence in the believer in Jesus Christ at salvation. …
… So if I had to put a title under these thoughts, it would be Help is on the Way. And I am in John chapter 14, verses 25 through 26. Jesus is talking to the disciples. He's preparing them for a time when he will no longer be walking with them the way that he is. He says many things to them. If you read through 14 and 15, there's many things there. And the word is rich. you should read all of it. But for the sake of our time together and before we take communion, there's something in particular here that I want to highlight. In verse 24, Jesus tells the disciples, these things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Lord, we need a reminder. in the midst of uncertainty, in the midst of trials and tribulations. …
… So important people see that. But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he'll teach you all things. But he said, I will pray to the Father and he will send you the Holy Ghost. I really want to say thank you for joining us this week. … The helper, Paraclete, who the father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and will bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. When the helper, Paraclete, comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. It is to your advantage that I go away. For if I do not go away, the helper, the paraclete, will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment. when the spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all truth for he will not speak on his own authority but whatever he hears he will speak and he will declare to you the things that are to come and he will glorify me for he will take what is mine and declare it to you there's so much in these passages that deserves our attention look at the unity of the trinity the son will ask the Father. The Father will send the Spirit. God bless you. There's such a happy cooperation that's at work here. As if to say the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, all three expressions of the same Godhead, are cooperating to be a helper, to come alongside, to be the paraclete. Did you take note of the pronoun, he will lead you. He will teach you. He will guide you. He will convict you. …
… He's getting ready to leave, go back to heaven. But the helper, that is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I've said to you. Peace, I leave with you. Church, did you hear that? He not only said it to the 12, he's saying it to us now. Peace, I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. I'm not going to give you some rubber band recall type of yo-yo peace. Nope. The peace I give sticks. By the way, it sticks in your heart, sticks in your mind. And he says, let not your heart be troubled. That word, let not your heart experience seismology, seismos. Don't let an earthquake happen in your heart emotionally, mentally, spiritually. Neither let it be afraid. He goes on to say, verse 28, you have heard me say to you, I am going away and coming back to you. …
… These things I've spoken to you while I'm still with you, but the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said. Now, how does the Holy Spirit become our teacher? Well, Jesus says He becomes our teacher because He reveals to us the deep things of God. He says, when the day comes when the Holy Spirit is sent to you, on that day, He says, He says, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you." Chapter 14 and verse 20, on that day, he's speaking about the day when the Holy Spirit comes, on that day, you will know I am in my Father, you are in me, and I am in you. What's he saying here? He's saying, when the Holy Spirit comes, you will have a better understanding of my relationship to my Father. You will have insight into that relationship that you have never had during the course of my ministry. …
