… The scripture will be on the screen. If you're ready, say yes. If you're not, here we go. now the gates of jericho were securely barred because of the israelites no one went in or no one went out and no one came in then the lord said to joshua see i have delivered jericho into your hands along with its king and fighting men god said i've given it to you i have given it to you i know it doesn't look like it but i've given it to you i know it's locked up and you can't get in but I've given it to you. Just because you're not in it yet doesn't mean God hasn't given it. Write that down, please. That's not in my notes. It ought to be in yours. Just because you're not in it yet doesn't mean God hasn't given it. God has promised you some things, and the Lord said, I've given it to you. And then the instruction, verse 3, march around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of ram's horns in front of the ark? On the seventh day, march around the city seven times with the priests blowing the trumpets. And when you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout. Then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up. Everyone straight in. That's the good part right …

Worship is Our Weapon - Dan Watson
Dan Watson, 2026-03-03

… They find a wall. Look at Joshua chapter 6 verse 1. It says, Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Jericho was not like a nice cute village. It was a fortified stronghold city. It was on elevated terrain that the walls were so thick, there were outer retaining walls and there were inner fortification walls. so thick and deep that people would build their houses inside the wall. These walls were built to intimidate the Israelites and to intimidate people coming inside of it. I wonder today what walls you face. Because the truth is this, that every single one of us faces a Jericho at some point in our life. That every single one of us is doing life and maybe we've heard God speak and we're walking in and we know the promise is near, but yet somehow there seems to be a fortified wall in front of us that no one can come in and no one can come out. …

… that he has for us. All right, Joshua chapter six. Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one went in. Isn't it kind of wild that if you were here last week or if you've been reading along, they've just crossed the Jordan. They've just seen the miracle of God. They've just made it through the promise to the promised land. And on, we don't, I need to look back, but on the first few days, they've consecrated themselves. They've set up stones of remembrance and here they are facing a battle. And that's what I was just saying that we're going to go through struggles. We're going to go through circumstances. We're going to go through trials. And here the people of God are in the promised land, but up against it. But I want to read verse one again. The gates were securely barred. No one went out and no one came in. I'm wondering today who feels like they're in a situation like this right now. …

… You just got to get your heart in the right place. This is Joshua chapter 6 starting in verse 1. Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel. None went out, none came in. Let me tell you what that means. Jericho was a city that had a great big old wall surrounding it all around. Big wall and big gates. and Jericho had heard about the children of Israel. Joshua and the army were taking over, moving from city to city, conquering. So Jericho, the city of Jericho, heard about the children of Israel, Joshua and the children of Israel. So they shut the gates, and the scripture says, nobody left the city and nobody came in the city. It was securely shut up because of the children of Israel. None went out and none came in. Nobody left. so they had locked the gates, shut the gates. Nobody went out, nobody came in. Okay, go ahead to the next verse. Now, and the Lord said to Joshua, see, I have given Jericho into your hand. …

… the walls are coming down as the holy spirit has given it to me it says now jericho was securely shut up because of the children of israel none went out and none came in And the Lord said to Joshua, see, here it is. I have given Jericho into your hand. It's king and it's the mighty men of valor. It says, you shall march around the city. All you men of war, you shall go around the city once. This you shall do six days. And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of ram's horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times. Skip over for the sake of time to verse number 20. So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet and the people shouted with a great shout that the wall fell flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. …
