This Is Going to Be Good
Levi Lusko, 2026-10-04

… And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. And he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, take care of him. And whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So, Jesus said, which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among thieves? And he, the lawyer, said, the one who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, go and do likewise. And we thank you, Lord, for your word, for the raw, unbridled power of it. We thank you. Your word is a fire. Your word is a light. Your word is a lamp. Your word is like a river. God and we stand to receive not to judge, not to presume but to listen to quiet our hearts and to lift your name high, to lift your word high we ask that your will would be done in our hearts, in our lives and in our midst thanking you for all that you've done through the many years of this ministry thanking you God for the faithfulness of Pastor Skip and Linnea, to watch you working through Pastor Nate and Janae and the entire staff and team many great things around the world through this body of believers. …

I'd like to invite you to take out of your bulletin, your GPS, your Grow, Pray, and Study Guide. If you're watching at home, I'd like to encourage you to have a pen and paper handy. You'll find there's a place to take notes here, and then on the backside, you'll find our daily scripture readings that all tie back into today's message. I'd like to encourage you to be people who read your Bible every day and to find these scriptures that might encourage you to continue to think about what we're talking about today. So we continue in our series on the issues that divide us. One of those divisive issues in our country today is how we look at how we ensure that health care happens for the vulnerable in our midst. And really a whole host of other questions around health care and the role that government plays in that. And the Atlantic Monthly has said this last year that the question that will decide the 2016 election is how we will address health care needs of Americans beginning in 2017. That this will be at front and center of the debate, of the presidential debates this fall. You don't hear as much about it today, but when you get to having one Republican and one Democrat facing off for president, there are very different solutions about how we're going to solve some of these really important problems. …

Your Part to Play in the Kingdom Economy of God - Louie Giglio
Louie Giglio, 2026-08-10 · Scripture reading

… as he traveled, he came where the man was, and when he saw him, he took pity on him. Let's remember that word today. And he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. And then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. The next day, so he spends the night there. The next day, he takes out two denarii, two days' wages, and he gives them to the end caper. And he says, look after him. And when I return, I'll reimburse you, another key word to remember, for any extra expense you may have. In other words, I think I've got it set up, but I don't know how long the guy's going to need to recover. I don't know how long he's going to be here. I don't know what else you're going to need to do to help him. But whatever you do, just keep tab of it. And when I get back, I'll pay you back for everything. And then Jesus asked the question, which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, the one who had mercy on him. …

Extreme Neighborliness
Guest speaker, 2026-08-09 · Scripture reading

… and when he saw him, he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I return. A despised Samaritan, an unholy, messed-up heretic from their point of view, showed kindness. He was neighborly. He was probably helping an arch enemy, a Jew, but he let love prevail. Jesus then asked, which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers? Well, the expert in the law replied, the one who showed him mercy. He probably couldn't even say the word Samaritan, but he had to admit that the Samaritan proved to be a neighbor. Well, how did Jesus reply? Jesus said to the expert in the law, you go and you do likewise. …

This Is Going To Be Good
Levi Lusko, 2025-12-08

… But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. And he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said to him, take care of him. And whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So which of these three, the priest, the Levite, or the Samaritan, do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves? And he said to him, he who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, go and do likewise. Now, one of my favorite leadership quotes, I think about it all the time, is if you want men to build a ship, don't drum up people to gather wood, divide the work out, responsibility out. …

… That's the role that the desire for wealth plays in our lives. In Luke chapter 12, we read that Jesus was teaching and in the middle of that, there was somebody, well, let me just read it. Someone in the crowd while Jesus was teaching said to him, teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me. Now, that's interesting. How many times maybe you've seen, I've seen many, many times families who ended up torn apart because a parent or a grandparent did a lousy job of preparing the family for the inheritance and what was going to happen and who was going to manage it and whether it was distributed fairly, all of these things. And so brother or sister, brothers and brothers come to hate each other, or at least dislike each other, no longer talk to each other because the inheritance, that's what's happening right here too. Tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me. To the man who shouted, Jesus offered these words of warning. Take care, be on your guard against all kinds of greed, for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions. I'll leave that on the screen for a moment, if you'll put it back up there for a moment. And I'd like for you to say that last part with me, what's in capitalized? One's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions. See, Jesus is trying to make something really clear to us about where life is found. I memorized that scripture probably 35 or 40 years ago because I never wanted to forget …

Jesus The Jester #4 | “Answers”

But a Samaritan, while traveling down the road, came near him, and when he saw the man, he was moved with pity. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. then he put the man on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper and said, take care of him and when I come back I will repay you whatever more you spend. which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers? The lawyer said, the one who showed him mercy. Jesus said to him, go and do likewise. This is the word of God for you, the people of God. Thanks be to God. Thank you. Somewhere along the line, you may have heard Jews, Christians, and Muslims referred to as people of the book. This designation refers to the fact that these three religions each venerate a book, the Torah, the Christian Bible, and the Koran. …
