… And so here was the man who was left to die, neglected by the priests, neglected by the Levite, but was embraced by the Samaritan. And having set the scene, the Lord Jesus said, which of these three do you think proves to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers? he said the one who showed him mercy and jesus said to him you go and do likewise the prescription for us tonight is to love to love the brothers and the sisters of the body of christ to love our enemies, but also to love our neighbors. Our neighbor is anyone brought across our path. And again, I would say that this is not a kind of love that is natural love. We cannot produce this kind of love. It is a selfless love that only comes from God. It entered into the world, this love, through Christ. who died for the ungodly. And if we're still living and faithful and wait on the Lord, Pastor Kevin will take us into Romans chapter 5. …

This Is Going to Be Good
Levi Lusko, 2026-10-04

… And whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you. So, Jesus said, which of these three do you think was a neighbor to him who fell among thieves? And he, the lawyer, said, the one who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, go and do likewise. And we thank you, Lord, for your word, for the raw, unbridled power of it. We thank you. Your word is a fire. Your word is a light. Your word is a lamp. Your word is like a river. God and we stand to receive not to judge, not to presume but to listen to quiet our hearts and to lift your name high, to lift your word high we ask that your will would be done in our hearts, in our lives and in our midst thanking you for all that you've done through the many years of this ministry thanking you God for the faithfulness of Pastor Skip and Linnea, to watch you working through Pastor Nate and Janae and the entire staff and team many great things around the world through this body of believers. …

I'd like to invite you to take out of your bulletin, your GPS, your Grow, Pray, and Study Guide. If you're watching at home, I'd like to encourage you to have a pen and paper handy. You'll find there's a place to take notes here, and then on the backside, you'll find our daily scripture readings that all tie back into today's message. I'd like to encourage you to be people who read your Bible every day and to find these scriptures that might encourage you to continue to think about what we're talking about today. So we continue in our series on the issues that divide us. One of those divisive issues in our country today is how we look at how we ensure that health care happens for the vulnerable in our midst. And really a whole host of other questions around health care and the role that government plays in that. And the Atlantic Monthly has said this last year that the question that will decide the 2016 election is how we will address health care needs of Americans beginning in 2017. That this will be at front and center of the debate, of the presidential debates this fall. You don't hear as much about it today, but when you get to having one Republican and one Democrat facing off for president, there are very different solutions about how we're going to solve some of these really important problems. …

Your Part to Play in the Kingdom Economy of God - Louie Giglio
Louie Giglio, 2026-08-10 · Scripture reading

… just keep tab of it. And when I get back, I'll pay you back for everything. And then Jesus asked the question, which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, the one who had mercy on him. And Jesus told him, go and do likewise. That's the spirit of above and beyond. And it's the way the kingdom of God works. The kingdom of God, this building churches, planting churches, taking the gospel to the ends of the world, translating scripture for people who've never read a verse in the language of their heart, feeding people who are starving, lifting the poor, giving them an opportunity to advance in life, to get an education, to move forward and to have a family, to have a place to live. All of these things require that the kingdom economy is working well. And the kingdom economy works like this. God gives us the opportunity to step into the story and to be a conduit for his provision for the people of earth. …

Extreme Neighborliness
Guest speaker, 2026-08-09 · Scripture reading

And Jesus said, which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? The expert in the law replied, the one who had mercy on him. And Jesus told him, go and do likewise. Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Hallelujah. Won't you be my neighbor? You know, since Sunday school days, I've heard the parable in our reading from Luke chapter 10. It's one that I really like, especially Jesus' punchline at the end. It's the parable of the good Samaritan. Do you like it too? Well, let's listen to how it starts. On one occasion, an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. Teacher, he asked, what must I do to inherit eternal life? What is written in the law, Jesus replied. How do you read it? He answered, love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength and with all your mind. And love your neighbor as yourself. …

… You've been asking me questions. Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers? Now, if they've been paying attention and if you've been paying attention and if we've been paying attention, the implication behind this question to go way beyond the excitement and the drama of the parable. Here's what the question really comes down to. Which of these three loved God? Which of these three loved God with all his heart, soul, mind, and strength by loving a stranger as himself? And the problem for the lawyer standing there is this, if he answers this question out loud, He's accountable to his answer. It's worse than that. If you answer this question out loud, or if you answer this question out loud, or if I answer this question out loud, I'm accountable to my answer for the question. And the lawyer surrounded by Judeans primarily, he can't even bring himself to answer the question directly. The text, as Luke tells us, the expert in the law required, Jesus said, which one of the three? …

Jesus The Jester #4 | “Answers”
Scott Black Johnston, 2025-09-28 · Scripture reading

… A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho and fell into the hands of robbers who stripped him, beat him, and went away, leaving him for half dead. Now, by chance, a priest was going down that road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So likewise, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, while traveling down the road, came near him, and when he saw the man, he was moved with pity. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, having poured oil and wine on them. then he put the man on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper and said, take care of him and when I come back I will repay you whatever more you spend. which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of the robbers? …
