How To Get Rich Quick – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-09-06

… Then whose will those things be which you have provided? So is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God. Wow. Oh, I got so much stuff, I got to get more room. God is saying, I've given you so much, you got to get rid of it. Donate it. Real quick. Have you heard about the farmer? This is famous. I shouldn't be talking about this because I don't have the time. But it kind of jives in. It went in with my head and it's scary, but I've never held anything back from you before. So here it comes. It goes something like this. There's a farmer's wife. She had been praying for his salvation. She was saved. He wasn't saved. He got saved. She's so excited. And he said, I'm so delighted in having salvation. salvation, I'm just going to dedicate, I'm going to dedicate something to God. And you know what I'm going to do? That, and forgive me, I don't know anything about cattle rearing, but when the cow is pregnant, she's going to give birth to a calf, right? So he says, you know what? I'm going to dedicate the birth of that, the calf that comes out of that cow, I'm going to dedicate that to God. …

… So is the one who lays up, there's the words from Matthew 6, who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God. You know what Jesus is not saying in this parable is it's wrong to have a barn. He's not saying it's wrong to have successful farming business. He's not saying it's wrong to have a bigger barn if you need a bigger barn because your crops were way bigger than you thought and you'd given away as much as you could and you'd trade it off with these other people as much as you could and if you didn't get it inside, it was gonna ruin and so you made more room for the stuff. He's not saying that's wrong. What he's illustrating is not how much stuff the guy had. What he's illustrating is the guy's attitude towards the stuff that he had. And I brought this to us today in the ESV translation. Because the NIV has a different word in this phrase. …

What Was the Price on That?
Guest speaker, 2026-03-08

… And so is the one who lays up treasure for himself, is not rich toward God. Luke chapter 12, verses 20 to 21. So imagine standing before heaven and asking, so what's a place like that cost? Yes, since we're curious, what is the price of eternal life and the perfection of heaven? Well, it's certainly beyond all our calculations. Any price we might imagine will be both too high and too low. The price of eternal life is too high for us to ever pay. And whatever price we might imagine will be too small and too low for who of us can imagine the true value of eternal life in heaven. So is it best that we never look up, never dream of heaven and eternal life, since we can never pay that price? Well, left to ourselves, it is hopeless. but it's not impossible for God. When we couldn't pay the price of our redemption, God did so completely by the life of Jesus. As Jesus said, contrasting his power and purpose, even as the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many, Matthew 20, verse 28. …

… if we take it the right way. He says, this, this is how it will be. to which we're like, wait, wait, wait, what is this? Oh, oh, let me find that for you, Jesus would say. This is total loss. Total loss is how it will be. He lost his life, he lost his stuff, and he lost his opportunity. He lost everything. There's nothing to show for him because it was all about him. There was nothing to show for him because it was all about him, because he wasn't on guard against pleonexia. He lost everything. This is how it will be, this is where we come in, for whoever. I'm a whoever, you're a whoever. This is how it will be for whoever stores up things for themselves to be consumed on themselves. That plan to consume everything that comes their way. This is how it will be for people who are tricked. This is how it will be for whoever stores up things for themselves and then he gives the other opportunity. …

Seek God First | Vision 2025 | Jentezen Franklin
Jentezen Franklin, 2025-12-01

… And then whose will all those things be? So it is who is he who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God. Notice, I love that he didn't rebuke that. He lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God. The goal of every person listening to me should be I want to be rich toward God. I want God's kingdom and God's purposes in the earth. Love the widow, help the poor, minister the truth, preach the gospel, go in his name, make disciples. I've got to be a part of that. Be rich towards God. Rich toward Him. God is looking for someone who will be rich toward Him. Get to that place of total abandonment. That if God tells you to do it, you do it. Be adventurous with God. You're blessed to be a blessing. It's not yours and you're not taking any of it with you. one half second after you die, you will wake up in eternity and it will not matter what you achieved in the natural, in the world. That's why the Bible said to love the world is to be an enemy of Christ. What does that mean? Does that mean we don't love life in the beaches and the mountains and the beautiful life that God has given us? No, but it's when you are in love with material things and you have no spiritual aspect to your life that is supreme and superior to all the world can offer. Hallelujah. There's something greater than fame, Jesus, the pearl of great price. …
