… Jesus said when you give a banquet invite the poor the crippled, the lame, the blind and you will be blessed what if there's an opportunity that comes your way to invite someone that is outside of your circle not somebody you typically hang out with and maybe they are poor or maybe they are afflicted in some way did you know that every morning in America 37 million people wake up in poverty Thank you. did you know in the past year 13 and a half million have had difficulty providing food for their family and 4.5 million of those have been insecure to the point where family members went hungry maybe hospitality for you is a bag of sandwiches that you take to an overpass in the inner city and you just eat bologna and cheese with some of the homeless. You're providing hospitality. Hospitality in the Greek language, we pointed out that in the Latin language, hospital and hospitality come from the same word. But in the Greek language, hospitality comes from a compound of two terms, love and stranger. …
… God will make you happy. Luke 14, verses 13 to 14. When you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed because they cannot repay you. Are you starting to pick up on the logic here? You're going to be blessed because they can't repay you. Uh-oh, what does that leave? that leaves space for your father for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just so this one luke 14 here comes the closest to acts 20 35 of all of them they're all nearby but this is probably the closest because it mentions being blessed happy it mentions the call to give it mentions the promise of repayment or reward and this is not the blessed of being praised this is the blessed of being happy when you give to others and they cannot repay you god will make you happy he will repay you in the end and knowing that makes us not only happy in the end but through faith streams to us in the present Thank you. …

And it's the kind of thing you'll see on Instagram, you know, a bunch of pictures of the kid and so the post or like on Facebook, whatever. And it was very normal. Again, as I say, you see it all the time. And it was very sweet. The dad is just posting saying like, you know, about his child, like, hey, you're the best, you know, the post was, you're the best kid. Like you're the best brother to your siblings, you know, that the best son I could ever dream of. Like, you're just the best kid ever. I remember seeing that and thinking, well, actually, that's super sweet. Like, that's very nice. It's a great thing for a dad to say. And then, you know, there's something in you sometimes, and I have this something in me sometimes that at the same time I was reading that and thinking, oh, what a nice thing for a dad to say. …
