Whoever is faithful with very little will also be faithful with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much. He who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.He that is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much: and he that is unrighteous in a very little is unrighteous also in much.

… so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings. Verse 10, whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. And whoever has been dishonest with very little will be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth like Bitcoin, who will trust you with true riches? And if you have not been trustworthy with somebody else's property, who will give you property of your own? No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money. Then the Pharisees who love money heard all this and they were sneering at Jesus. And he said to them, you are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts and what people value is highly detestable in God's sight. I want to preach a message today, write down the title. It's called Stewardship, a Samaritan, and Self-Righteousness. Stewardship, a Samaritan, and Self-Righteousness. Come on, let's pray over the word of God today. Lord, we thank you that your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. …
… really good news. If you're faithful with a little, God's going to trust you with even more. And then Jesus went on to say, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. If you lie about something small, Jesus is saying you're more tempted to lie about something big. And this is the problem. Small dishonesty doesn't stay small. The truth is all of us are sinful by nature. And we're tempted to lie, and most of us probably do lie in different ways at different times. And there's kind of a spectrum, and experts look at it, and they kind of give you different layers or levels of it. And so I want to talk about a few of those today. We'll talk about four, and you might see yourself in some of these things. The first thing is what they call the half-truth. And if you have kids, you know what the half-truth is, because kids, when they turn 13, they're infused with supernatural half-truth power. …
… idea what God is doing through your faithfulness in that cup. Jesus said it this way, Luke 16, 10, whoever can be trusted with very little will also be trusted with very much. Whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. Now, I want to be careful here because I'm not saying that every faithful Christian right now is given some kind of important job on earth. I'm not saying to you high school students, hey, just do well on your computer science quiz, and God promises one day to make you the CEO of Apple. Okay? No, a lot of faithful servants die as cupbearers. But see, a lot of scriptural promises are not fully fulfilled until eternity. Jesus consistently connects our faithfulness and the small things here with the responsibilities that were given there. What I'm telling you is that this time of tedium, when you're a student taking classes, you're like, I have no idea how this connects to my life. or when you feel like you're stuck in a dead-end job or when you spend most of your days changing diapers and nobody notices and nobody says thank you, I'm telling you, it's more than that. …
… to bear fruit for you in the field, says the Lord of hosts. All right? Luke 16. I'm going to try to tie these two together, so make sure you see this in your own Bibles. Luke 16, verse 10. He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much. And he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore, if you've not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust true riches? If you've not been faithful in what is another man's, who will give you what is your own? He then goes on to talk about not serving God and mammon. Mammon, it refers to money, but more specifically in this context, when he says you cannot serve God and mammon is referring to a spirit being that works to influence the economics of the nations of the world. Mammon is personified in this illustration. So if you don't know of a prevailing power or influence in a land, if you don't realize it's there, you won't live in opposite to it. …
… Well, get right with God in your finances. Luke chapter 16 and verse 10, Jesus said, He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in that which is much. And he that is unjust in the least is also unjust in the much. The least is the material things. The much is the spiritual things. If you go back and read Luke chapter 16. And then Jesus said in Luke 16 verse 11, And if you've not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? May I explain that to you? Friend, if you can't trust God with your finances, how is God going to trust you with true spiritual riches? Prove me, God says. Prove me. Put me to the test. God will renew our faith. And I'll tell you something else He'll do. He'll rebuke our foes. Look in verse 11. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sake, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground. …
