The Time Is Here | Chad Veach
Chad Veach, 2026-06-28 · Scripture reading

… he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it, bring it here to me. If anybody asks you, why are you untying this colt? Just tell them the Lord needs it. Those who were sent ahead went, and they found it just as he told them. And as they were untying the colt, the owner of the colt said, hey man, why are you untying my colt? And they replied, well, because the Lord needs it. And then they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt, and put Jesus on it. And as he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen. Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord. …

What Are You Doing?
Steven Furtick, 2026-03-30

… other stuff for you that isn't quite as spiritual. Watch what Jesus told them to do, verse 2, saying to them, go to the village ahead of you, and just as you enter it, you will find a colt that's a baby donkey tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, why are you doing this? Say, the Lord needs it and we'll send it back here shortly. Skinner, I can't skip over this and talk about the donkey being borrowed because I'm thinking about the fact that Jesus borrowed two things around Easter. One was a donkey and one was a tomb. But see, it wasn't exactly borrowed the appropriate way. This is not technically how you should borrow something. That's why I think Jesus needed Peter to do something that was so dumb that it would take a dumb disciple to do it. Do I have any dumb disciples in the room today who aren't the smartest, who aren't exactly the sharpest tools in the drawer. …

… I want to use one verse of Scripture, Mark chapter 11, verse 2. And Jesus said unto them, go your way into the village over against you. It's an interesting little line. And I know I'm doing a play on words, but that's exactly what the King James version of the Bible says. The oldest translation would be the King James. Go into English. Go your way into the village over against you. And as soon as you're entered into it, you'll find a colt tied wherein never a man set. Loosen and bring him. I want you to notice that verse. It was the instruction of Jesus to his disciples. They were moving up from the southern part of Israel, leaving Galilee, leaving Capernaum, going straight up to Jerusalem. It was time for the feast of Passover. They were headed to Jerusalem. And this village was so small, we're not told anything about it. We're not given its specific geographical location. or name in the text, we're only told that Jesus sent his disciples into the next village that, I like the wording of it, that was against them. So the only name that we have of this little village was against. Sometimes Jesus will send you into places and into circumstances and into situations that will be against you. And the devil didn't send you into it. The devil may love to kill, steal, and destroy through some of the things that we end up in, but God allowed in his sovereignty for his disciples to go into a place called against. …

DONKEY DYNAMICS
Ed Young Jr., 2025-04-13

… He sent two of his disciples saying to them, go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you're gonna find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you, why are you untying it? Say, the Lord needs it. Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, why are you untying the colt? They replied, the Lord needs it. They brought it to Jesus through their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all of the miracles they had seen. … Jesus sent two of His disciples and said to them, Go into the village opposite you, and And immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one yet has ever sat. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone says to you, what are you doing, or why are you doing this, you say, the Lord has need of it, and immediately He will send it back here. Now it's Monday, and it's time for Him to come into the city. Also Mosaic law required that sacrificial animals for the Passover be selected on the tenth day of Nisan, the first month, kept in the house until the fourteenth, which was the day of sacrifice. And so in perfect harmony with that, the Lord comes as the sacrifice on Monday the 10th to be the sacrifice on the 14th on Friday. He is the Lamb on Monday who is slaughtered on Friday. Now as we look at this a little more closely, we just need to think of three things, the arrival, the approval, and the appraisal. The arrival, as I said, very simple. He comes to Bethany near the Mount of Olives, and as he moves in the direction of the city, there needs to be the fulfillment of the Zechariah prophecy. That's exactly what you have. Now, omniscience is in play here, obviously. You remember back in John 1 that He knew Nathanael before He ever saw Nathanael. …

A Round of Applause, Rev. Dr. Howard-John Wesley
Howard-John Wesley, 2020-04-06 · Scripture reading

… Go to the village, go ahead of you, and as you enter it you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. If anyone asks you why you are untying it, say the Lord needs it. Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as Jesus had told them. And as they were untying the coat, its owners asked them, why are you untying the coat? They replied, the Lord needs it. They brought it to Jesus, threw their coats on the coat and put Jesus on it. And as he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. When he came near the place where the road goes down, the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen. Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest. Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, Teacher, rebuke your disciples. …
