Watch what Jesus just got finished saying. This is Luke chapter 6, verse 46. Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? right like right before he's teaching he gets done teaching walks up then he meets the centurion why do you call me lord lord and do not do what i say as for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice i will show you what they are like they are like a man building a house who dug down deep and laid the rock on a foundation, the foundation on a rock. When a flood came and the torrent struck that house, but could not shake it because it was well built. I want a life that's well built. I want a life that's well built. I want a marriage that's well built. I want a ministry that's well built. Can we thank God for the church that God is building in his place? He is building his house. …
… based on other things than the word of God you'll recall what Jesus said he said why do you call me Lord Lord and do not what I tell you listen Jesus Christ is Lord in your life when you know what God tells you to do and you don't hesitate him all around about and argue with him about it and debate with him. You just go ahead and do what he tells you to do. Then Christ is Lord in your life. Listen, if he is the head, and if I recognize and acknowledge him as the head, what am I going to do? I'm going to submit to him as the head of my life personally. I want to be a member of a group of people who are in the process of growing as we all are, growing in submission to Jesus Christ and one another. Now, I cannot tell you whether Jesus Christ is Lord of your life or not, but I can tell you this. …
… saved and you love God if you're not living by the Word of God. Jesus Christ said, why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say? And then he gives another illustration. Was not Rahab the harlot justified by works when she hid the spies? Remember, James is talking about being seen before men. You couldn't see Rahab's heart. But let me tell you what happened to Rahab. Rahab was a harlot in the Old Testament who got saved and her life was so changed that she married a prince in Israel, became the great, great grandmother of King David, is in the house and lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ himself. HER LIFE, HER LIFE WAS CHANGED. NOW SOME WHO ARE MEMBERS OF CHURCHES ARE STILL LIVING LIKE A HARLOT AND YOU'RE GOING TO DIE AND SPLIT HELL WIDE OPEN. LISTEN, IF YOUR RELIGION HAS NOT CHANGED YOUR LIFE, YOU BETTER CHANGE YOUR RELIGION. JUST SIMPLY SAYING, I BELIEVE, JUST HEARING THE WORD OF GOD, THAT DOES NOT SAY. IT IS FAITH. AND THEN HE GIVES THE CLASSIC IT'S A LONG ILLUSTRATION. HE GIVES TWO EXAMPLES AND THEN HERE'S THE ILLUSTRATION. LOOK AT IT. AND, AND VERSE 26, FOR AS THE BODY WITHOUT THE SPIRIT IS DEAD, SO FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD ALSO. NOW LET'S GET A CADAVOR UP HERE, A BODY UP HERE AND LOOK AT IT. MAYBE WE'LL DO AN AUTOPSY ON IT. THERE IT IS. WE'LL SAY WHAT A WONDERFUL PIECE OF MACHINERY THAT IS. WHAT A WONDERFUL SPECIMEN OF ANATOMY THAT …
… if you've not done that, I don't think you have any right to call yourself a CHRISTIAN. JESUS SAID, WHY CALL YE ME LORD, LORD, AND DO NOT THE THINGS THAT I SAY? THE BIBLE SAYS, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. NOW, DON'T TELL ME IT WON'T WORK IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED IT. FIRST OF ALL, FRIEND, YOU MUST RECOGNIZE, YOU MUST RECOGNIZE HIS SOVEREIGN PREEMINENCE. YOU MUST YIELD TO THE FACT THAT THE KING IS SUPREME. THAT'S WHAT JESUS IS SAYING WHEN HE SAYS, SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS righteousness. Now, having done that, how is that going to work out in our practical lives? When we think of the sovereign demand of this priority, what are the sweeping dimensions of this priority? Well, let's just see if we can get practical. If, if, if Jesus Christ is number one in my life, if I'm seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, what's that going to mean to me day by day and week by week? Well, number one, it MEANS THAT I AM GOING TO GIVE HIM THE FIRST THOUGHT OF EVERY DAY. I AM TO WAKE UP WITH HEAVEN ON MY MIND. I LOVE PSALM 5 VERSE 3, MY VOICE SHALT THOU HEAR IN THE MORNING, O LORD. IN THE MORNING WILL I DIRECT MY PRAYER UNTO THEE AND WILL LOOK UP. HMM. YOU OUGHT, WHEN YOU GET OUT OF BED, WHEN you open your eyes, the very first thought, as you seek first the …
