All the people were amazed and began to ask one another, “What is this? A new teaching with authority! He commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey Him!”They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What can this new doctrine be? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What is this? a new teaching! with authority he commandeth even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.

… The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, What is this, a new teaching and with authority? He even gives orders to evil spirits, and they obey him. News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee. As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her. So he went to her, took her hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to wait on them. That evening, after sunset, the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. The whole town gathered at the door, and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak, because they knew who he was. Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place where he prayed. Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed, Everyone is looking for you. Jesus replied, Let us go somewhere else, to the nearby villages, so that I can preach there also. That is why I have come. …
… convulsed him and cried out with a loud voice, he came out of him. Then they were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, what is this? What new doctrine is this? For, here's the word again, with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him. And immediately his fame spread throughout all the region around Galilee. Interesting sermon. The delegate, Jesus, stands up, reads his text, gives an exposition of whatever text he preached or spoke from. We're not told. I wish perhaps we were, but he is giving his sermon and his sermon gets interrupted by a demon-possessed shriek. Now there's two things striking about this little story here. It strikes me. Number one, you got a demon-possessed guy in church. Yes, the devil comes to church. he's there in church. How long has he been in the synagogue? We don't know. He could have just been visiting. Maybe he had been there a long time. Maybe he was on the welcome team. …
And so it is with all created minds, including Satan and demons, Jesus commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey. Mark 1 27, Satan and his demons are on a leash. They can do nothing but what fits into God's plan. He even uses Satan to accomplish his saving purposes, as in Judas or Paul's thorn. nor can any man or woman act outside the sovereign will of God. Say that again. Nor can any man act outside the sovereign will of God. And yes, that implies that God wills that sin take place. If you don't have a category for God can will that sin be without sinning, the gospel will unravel in your hands. because God not only willed that his son die, but he willed how he would die. Namely, by being unjustly condemned and killed, which is sin. And you'd be in hell if God hadn't willed that that sin happen. Therefore, God wills sin to happen without himself sinning. Many are the plans of the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. …
