The Coming Of The King – Part 3
Jack Hibbs, 2026-06-03

… the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens will be shaken then the sign of the son of man will appear in heaven and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn and when they see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory this is the second coming it's also called the great and terrible day of God and he will send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet. This has nothing to do with the rapture. Don't worry about it. Watch this. And they will gather together his elect from the four winds or the four corners of the earth from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn this parable from the fig tree. When its branches has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors. …

Scared to Death (Revelation 6:12-17)
John MacArthur, 2024-03-03

… of those days, here's the same phenomenon. The sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds from one end of the sky to the other. But notice the phenomenon. … Immediately after the tribulation of those days, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heaven will be shaken, and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. So during that period of time, there will be a false peace, followed by war, followed by famine, followed by catastrophe, followed by persecution, followed by the return of Christ. And again, the sequence is the same in Matthew as it is in Revelation. Now with that, go back to our text, if you remember what it was, Revelation 6, 1. So the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and one of the four living creatures, one of the angels around the throne of God says, this is in the vision, as with the voice of thunder, come, and He calls. …

Rethinking Church
Francis Chan, 2018-11-21

… the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. And the stars will fall from heaven and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. From the fig tree, learn its lesson. As soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near at the very gates. Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. …
