this text about the storms of life. Specifically, why do they come? Why does God allow storms to come? Because all of us go through storms. Everybody goes through storms. Sometimes it's a storm that hits your family. Sometimes it's a storm that hits your marriage. Sometimes it's a storm that hits you financially, hits your business. It's a storm that hits you with one of your children or some special, and you know, when you get in the storm, you feel like what in the world is going on and God, how much more can I take? And everything is against me. And I'm in the middle of this and I don't see any way out and I don't know what I'm going to do. You're not unique. The Bible said in this, in this world, we will have tribulation. Jesus himself said that you will have tribulation. You will face storms. The reason that God allows storms is what I'm going to share with you this morning. Why this storm? Why? That's kind of the first question we go to is why? Why is this happening? …
… ghost, they're terrified of the one who has the power to save. Immediately he spoke to them and said, Take courage. It is I. Don't be afraid. Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed. Four… This part is going to seem out of nowhere. They had not understood about the loaves. Their hearts were hardened. So, I want to ask you a question. What in the world does bread have to do with a boat? What does they had not understood about the loaves have to do with the fact that they were afraid in the storm? When the Bible says immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, it does not say in that verse what has just occurred before Jesus sent them on this trip. But if you back up just a few verses, Jesus has just finished feeding 5,000 men and women and children who were starving. Instead of allowing them to starve or sending them away, he told the disciples, Bring me the bread you have. Bring me the fish you have. …
"Immediately He constrained His disciples to get into the boat, and to go before Him to the other side to Bethsaida, while He sent away the people. And when He hadsent them away, He departed into a mountain topray. And when evening was come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and He alone on the land. And He saw them toiling in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them. But when they saw Him walking upon the sea, they supposedit had been a spirit, and cried out: for they all saw Him, and were troubled. And immediately He talked with them, and said unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I, be not afraid. And He went up unto them into the boat, and the wind ceased: and they were sorely amazed among themselves beyond measure, and wondered. For they considered not the miracle of the loaves: for their hearts were hardened." Mark 6:45-52. …
