Sermons on Nehemiah 4:14

After I had made an inspection, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”I looked, and rose up, and said to the nobles, to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, “Don’t be afraid of them! Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses.”And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, who is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

… Because they won't kiss the sun! And so the battle is our battle. The wall is not our wall to build. I looked, and I spoke to the group, and I said to them, Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome. This is our role. This is it. Don't be afraid. Fear not. That's what Jesus said. Fear not. Don't be afraid. Remember the Lord, who's great and awesome, and fight for your brothers and your sons and your daughters and your wives. This is not rhetoric. This is theology. we're in a fight for our sons and our daughters. Our sons and our daughters have grown up being schooled by three big lies, depending on where they've gone to school. Number one, there is no personal creator. Number two, there is no absolute morality. And number three, there is no ultimate authority. The battle is being fought on those lines, and more besides. And so, what he says? Listen, it's gonna have to be business as usual. …

Guarding Your Family From Digital Danger
Craig Groeschel, 2025-11-02

… the families stood guard with whatever weapon they had to protect their loved ones. Nehemiah went on to say this. He said, after I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles and the officials and the rest of the people, don't be afraid of our enemies. Why? Remember the Lord who is great and awesome and fight for your families, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your home. Remember the Lord, our God, who is good, is powerful, and is awesome and stand guard at the most vulnerable points of the wall and fight for your families. In today's culture, we'd probably say it this way. Stand guard over what they see. Stand guard over what they hear. Stand guard over the voices that will shape what they believe about themselves, about God, and about life. Stand guard against the algorithms which will conform them to the image of this dark and broken world instead of the image of Jesus. How do we do this? …

Fight for Your Family - Part 2
John K. Jenkins Sr., 2025-03-10 · Scripture reading

… Therefore I positioned men behind the lower parts of the wall at the openings and I set the people according to their families with their swords, their spears and their bows. And I looked and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders and to the rest of the people, do not be afraid of them. And remember the Lord great and awesome and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses. Look at your neighbor and say, fight for your family. Tell them on the other side, fight for your family. I love this passage of scripture because it speaks to us and challenging us to understand that what goes along with the territory of doing what it is God has called you to do comes opposition. And what I like that what Nehemiah did is he said to the people, to the peoples, he said to them, to the nobles and the leaders and to the rest of the people, he said, don't be afraid. …

Fight for Your Family - Part 1

… lower parts of the wall at the openings and I set the people according to their families with their swords, their spears, and their bows. And I looked and arose and said to the nobles, to the leaders, and to the rest of the people, do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, great and awesome, and fight for your brethren, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your houses. I love this passage because here's what he is saying. He is saying, we're going to go ahead and do the work that God has assigned to our hands to do. And while we're doing the work, we're also going, we're going to have tools in one hand and weapons in the other hand. In other words, y'all got an assignment. Everybody here, God's got a destiny and an assignment for your life. You have a call. You have an anointing. You have giftings. You got things that God has called you to do God has anointed you to do some things to advance his kingdom but he says this why you advance in his kingdom don't get shocked when somebody comes along and tries to destroy your family and try to destroy your home and tries to frustrate your marriage and tries to cause you to be defeat but why you are doing the work that God has called you to do have tools in one hand but have some weapons to defend your family in the other Somebody look at your neighbor and say, we got to fight for our family. …
