Sunday is Coming | Joel Osteen
Joel Osteen, 2026-09-11

What happened? Sunday came. God completed what he started. That's what the scripture says. Philippians 1 verse 6. Be confident of this. He that began a good work in you will bring it to completion. Notice we're supposed to be confident. That means talk like it's going to happen. Act like it's going to happen. Plan like it's going to happen. Think like it's going to happen. Not any of this. I don't know if my son's ever going to straighten up. The more I pray, the worse he gets, Joel. No, be confident. Yes, he's making poor choices right now, but I know he's going to turn around. I know it's just a matter of time before he gets back on the right track. That's confidence. That's your faith speaking. Not, I thought I would get married. I thought I'd meet someone, but it's been so long. I don't know. Maybe I'm just supposed to be single. No, you got to be confident that God's going to finish what he started. Instead of speaking defeat, you need to be saying, I know God's going to bring somebody great into my life. I can't wait to meet them. …

All In Good Time
Guest speaker, 2026-08-12

… will come to pass and it rightly applies to his work in your life the reason we can rest and rejoice in this is because when he says things like Philippians 1 6 and he says this being confident of this very thing that he who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ we can trust him because he's got the power he has everything under control and so we say how God I don't see how it's all going to work out and we can trust him that he will never leave us nor forsake us that nothing will be able to separate us from our God that no one will be able to pluck us from his hand that all that God has said will come to pass And so we just must fear him and trust him as God. And when we do that, our life begins to fall right into the place that God had always planned for it to be. …

No Turning Back | Chad Veach
Chad Veach, 2026-08-09

… Come on, clap and thank the Lord if that's your prayer. Philippians 1 verse 6, being confident of this very thing, that he who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. The same God that delivered you is the same God that will sustain you. The same God that broke that chain is the same God that's going to carry you by his outstretched arm. And I just want to encourage you this morning. I felt like telling somebody the same God that delivered you from your darkest place, the same God that pulled you out of depression, the same God that found you when you were suicidal, the same God that pulled you out of that relationship is the same exact God that is going to help you tomorrow morning. We do not serve the God that starts projects and leaves. being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will be faithful. Has anybody here found God to be faithful in your life? Anybody found God to be a faithful God? …

Continue in the Gospel
Alistair Begg, 2026-07-20

… of course, the confidence that he gives when he writes to the Philippians is being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion of the day of Jesus Christ so that we're continuing to work out what he is working in. So all who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep didn't listen to them. Here we go again. I am the door. By me, If anyone enters, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. Thieves only come to kill and destroy and so on, but I am the good shepherd. And so, as a child, I'd be sitting in Sunday school, and they would teach us the little chorus, one door and only one, and yet its sides are two. The inside, the outside, on which side are you? One door and only one, and yet its sides are two. The inside, the outside, and which side are you? And the teachers say, you can't be on two sides of the door at the one time. …

The Work In The Wait | Julia Veach
Julia Veach, 2026-07-19

… response uh so go sports four of them all four of you uh but i love how paul describes this in philippians philippians 1 verse 6 it says being confident of this very thing that he who began a good work. Everyone say good. It's not just a work. It's a good work that he has planned for us. We'll carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. I love this reminder that we serve a God who is always at work and that his commitment to us is that he's not the one that's just going to finish it. Thank you, Jesus. But that we get to place, how Paul says, we get to place our confidence, not in us, not in our podcasts, not in our pastor, but we get to put place our confidence and our hope in our trust in a good father who is doing a good work. I love that it says he's the one who carries it. He's the one who finishes it. But he also says, I love this phrase, he is the one who begun. He's the one that started. He's the creator. We have kids that is summertime. We're trying to avoid the screens as much as possible. And so they just move from screens to another sort of consumption, whether that's sugar, whether that's books. You may think that that's a good thing, but I'm trying to teach my kids that God created us to create, to do, to work, to produce. …

Unfinished Glory - Dexter Jakes
Dexter Jakes, 2026-07-05

… so let Paul answer you Philippians 1.6, it says, He who began a good work in you will, will, will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. See, in that verse, he gives you two things you need to survive being unfinished. First, who? He does. He does the work, not your willpower, not your resolution. So lay down the pressure of putting yourself together. It's not your job, it's his job. He is the one that must perform the work. He started it, so he's the only one that can finish it. Second, when? Until the day of Christ. not your own time not your 30th your 50th not when you feel like it it's until the day of Christ Jesus so if you're not finished this morning good and look at who he sent to tell you He didn't send the best-selling authors. He sent someone that is still unfinished himself. Because I am you. I am you. We're in the same boat, baby. We are in the same space. …

Very familiar, I would think, to most of you. Philippians 1, 6, it's still in the Bible. You want to check from time to time. Is Philippians 1, verse 6 still in the Bible? And thank God it is. and it is this, being confident. The word is in the continuous present tense, which means be being confident. It means that the believer never has to stop being confident. Is that falling on deaf ears this morning? Please hear this. Don't answer. But if you say that you are a follower of Christ, the Bible says, then be confident. and the only reason why you wouldn't be is because you are trying to be confident in yourself be confident in him watch be being confident of this very thing oh what is it what is it that fuels my confidence that he who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. You can clap at that. Once he starts to work, he will not stop. You say, well, I've been a Christian for 50 years and I haven't progressed much. That's because of you messing up that, but he won't stop. How about letting go of the wheel, let him drive, and see what happens. …

GLP-0: Paul's Rx For The Good Life | J.D. Greear
J.D. Greear, 2026-05-19 · Scripture reading

… And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to feel this way about you all because I hold you in my heart for you all are partakers with me of grace, grace both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more with knowledge and with all discernment so that you may approve what is excellent. and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit and the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and the praise of God. This is the word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God. You may be seated. Philippians is a letter that Paul wrote to a little church that he loved. …

… Oh, I like this. Philippians chapter 1 verse 6. being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. God ain't done with you yet. And I want to tell you, God doesn't have a plan B for your life. He only has a plan A. God is molding. He is shaping. He is changing you. God is not done with you. You might have made a mistake, but you are not a mistake. God is still writing your story. God is still leading you into the will and the plan that he has for your life. It ain't over yet. And I know we see things, we're like, oh, it's over for them. Oh, it's done. One of my favorite Laker legends is Chick Hearn. And Chick Hearn was the voice of the Lakers forever. Shout out to Chick Hearn. And before the game, the clock hit zero. He had this signature line to let everybody know, whether it was five minutes left or two minutes left, that this thing, the clock hasn't hit zero, but this thing's over. …

God Will Heal Your Mind
Craig Groeschel, 2026-02-22

… What I want you to hear is he finishes what he starts. The Bible tells us that he who began a good work in you will carry it on until completion, into the day of Christ Jesus. If he touched you once, he stands ready to touch you again. If you experience his goodness, he is still good. He still loves you. He's not finished with you. If he touched you once, He stands ready to touch you again. He stands ready to touch you again. So Father, we pray. We pray for the second touch and the third touch and the 14,229th touch. I'm gonna do something a little different today, church. What I want you to know is that we are family. Some people say, a lot of church is kind of a big church. I'd say this, we're a collection of a lot of small communities. That's what we really are. You are in, the service you're in right now is a collection of, it's a small part. …

He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1.6. Your steps are established by the Lord. Psalm 37. He will work everything together for your good. Romans 8. He will rejoice in doing good to you. Jeremiah 32. He is for you. And if He is for you, who can be against you? Meaning nobody can succeed against you. I mean just do the math, right? He is infinitely powerful. He is meticulously sovereign over everything in your life. You cannot be defeated by any of His adversaries. You can't. If you're in His hands, you cannot fail. No words that come out of your mouth, no love that comes out of your hand will return to you empty. He will prosper in the thing for which he sent it. You will say with the Apostle Paul, to live is Christ and to die is gain. So make my day. Let me live or take my life. You cannot stop me. …

… supposed to do. So maybe some of you, the word for you today is attitude. God's like, I just want you work on your attitude. In this situation, can you have a better attitude? Philippians 1.6 says, He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. You don't have to know the plan. You just have to stay close to the one who does. You have to stay close to the one who promises to be faithful to complete the work that he started, not the work that I started, the work that he started. I know that so many of you came in here this Sunday before Christmas feeling like you don't know what to do next in this situation, and I want you to know that God is going to show you the next step. You don't have to solve the puzzle. You don't have to manipulate the situation. You don't have to cheat your way into it. All you have to do is Take the hint. …

Move It To The Middle
Steven Furtick, 2025-02-24

If you let it end you, it will end you. If you let it make you tap, it will end you. If you let it define you, it will define you. If you let it bury you, it will bury you. But he, but he who began a good work in you, now feel my preacher, he who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. The Bible says that all things work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose. So if it's not good, God's not done. He said, I'll bring you to an expected end. So if his purpose isn't finished yet for this situation, it is not the end. Move it to the middle. I'm talking about the thing that you've been crying about. I'm talking about the thing that you've been gossiping about. I'm talking about the thing that has had you so down, you can't rejoice. I'm talking about the thing that has blurred your vision and fogged your faith. I'm talking about the thing that has beat you into submission, the thing that's got you tied up in knots. You've been treating it like the end, and you need to move it to the middle. …
