God's Will Is What?
Levi Lusko, 2026-10-05

… responsibility of feeling like you have to carry the weight of the world to change your son. of the verse that you brought up a few weeks ago, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all of your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your paths. I just think of the fact that don't lean on your own understanding. Cause I think for the most part, we're not going to understand. We're not going to know what God is doing. We're not going to understand why is this person treating me this way? Why, why is, why am I coming up against this wall over and over and over again? And I think the key is that we're not leaning on what we can see or understand, but we're trusting God. And so I'm, first of all, so sorry that that's happened. I can't imagine that kind of grief and pain, but I also know that what God is building up in you to trust Him and to be desperate for Him and His plan for you. …

… And what god's saying is hey, I just need you to wait on me. Well pastor mike How do we wait look at proverbs 3 5 because a lot of you the question to you today is how are you handling the weight? And you you you think that the weight is like like the time like god, man I hate this like I can't stand going to this job, but you got it messed up god saying how are you handling the weight? At your service god a waiter See when you come to a good restaurant a good waiter is not telling you everything they need A good waiter is asking, what else can I do for you? Father, if you ask me to serve in this children's ministry, how long do you want me to be here, Father God? You want me to keep giving to this person who can't give anything to me? At your service, God. And many of us are prolonging our season of going to the next level because our wait is bad. …

Invitation of a Lifetime - Dan Watson
Dan Watson, 2026-08-24

… it's a paradox of faith. Proverbs 3 verse 5. Trust in the Lord. With what? All your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. And He'll make your path straight. trust in him, not on your understanding. And in the world we live in, we want to understand. We want the explanations. We want the reasons. We want the formula. And God's saying, no, no, no, you ain't gonna understand. Because I don't work the way that everyone else works. I'm God. I work differently. But here's what I'm inviting you into. to be quiet and to trust me? Did I say I'll be your provider? Well, trust me. Did I say I'll restore? Trust me. Do I say I'll redeem? Trust me. Trust the Lord. Because he doesn't often give us explanations, but he does always give us himself and his presence. And I don't know what you've been trusting. so know who you've been trusting but Judah was trying to trust Egypt they're trying to trust their own self their own understanding their own formula and they rejected what God had on the table for them the invitation of a lifetime God's people unwilling unwilling because maybe they were afraid unwilling because they wanted control unwilling because they couldn't see what God was doing behind the scenes so they moved to what they could see unwilling because they wanted immediate solutions, immediate results unwilling because they had forgotten what God had already done they were unwilling they didn't want to surrender their way …

Called To Be An Influencer – Part 3
Jack Hibbs, 2026-08-23 · Scripture reading

… in the sight of God. Amen. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall correct your paths. Father, we pray today that you would be our strength both in giving the word of God out in this gathering and receiving it as students. We pray, Father, that we would leave this building today. When the actual church leaves this physical building today, we thank you that this building is not the church. We are the church. and when you turn us loose today may we be a people that go out and affect and influence the world for Christ in such a way Lord God that it is worthy of these last days worthy of your gospel worthy of your near return worthy Father in the sense also that we've got the greatest message that this nation could ever hear within our hearts and Lord may we no longer be shy about it. Father we pray that you'd make us influencers filled with the Holy Spirit and empowered by the Holy Spirit and speaking by the Holy Spirit the word of God. …

Called To Be An Influencer – Part 2

… understanding. Please write this down. God understands all things. Can you just commit that? Write that down. Put it in your margins of your Bible right here. Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5. Right alongside there, mark it. God understands. God knows. God is aware of all things. You're not. I'm not. We think we are. We feel like we are. We're not. And this is important. In 1 Corinthians chapter 13, verse 11, the Bible says, and this is what Paul is speaking about, but when he says, when I was a child, I spoke as a child. I understood as a child. Note this, I thought as a child. So what is that? When I was, was a child, I spoke as a child. I thirdly, understood as a child. Fourthly, I thought as a child. How do children think, speak, understand? How are kids like? In this context, the structure demands that Paul is saying, when I didn't know Jesus, I didn't have a clue. When I was even spiritually young and immature, spiritually, I didn't have a clue. But the believer, the Christian matures just like the human from childhood matures. There's a change that takes place. We know this in every way, shape, and form as being human. …

… One of my favorite portions of Scripture is Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, where it says, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. In all your ways, acknowledge Him. He'll make your path straight. He'll make you successful in your journey. The word acknowledge there, in all your ways, acknowledge Him, it's the same word as in Genesis and Adam knew Eve and she conceived and bore a son. It's an experiential knowledge. In all your ways experientially come to know God in that way. So I have different ways in my life. I'm a dad. I'm a grandfather. I'm a pastor. I'm a writer. I'm a friend. I'm different things. I can come to know God as a pastor and not come to know Him as a father. So my fatherhood will be short-sighted because I don't intimately know Him as Father. Maybe a business person. He's the ultimate business person. Come to know Him in that part of his nature. And in that intimate connection with God in that part of your life, that's where he helps to enable and empower you, me, to be successful in what he's assigned us to do and to become. …

… And again, it's in your notes if you scan that QR code. Proverbs 3, verses 1 through 6. Note this, everybody. This is a style of teaching that is known as couplets or twins. You'll see it. It'll be obvious, and I put a little help in there. Verse 1 begins with the instruction. What is it? My son, do not forget my law, but let your heart keep my commands. Look at verse 3, the instruction. Let not mercy and truth forsake you. Bind them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. Look at verse 5. Instruction again. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Look at verse 6. The instruction. In all your ways acknowledge him. Very powerful. Those are the instructions. Watch the couplet. Next slide. The blessing. So there's the instruction. and if you obey the instruction, then there's the blessing. Listen, everybody, as followers of Jesus, we want the blessing, but we're not too keen on following the instructions. You can't have one without the other. Impossible. It's not going to happen. You've often heard it said in this church, God blesses obedience. And obedience with God is not a heavy deal. It's not a burden. …

… Oh, man. Proverbs 3, trust in the Lord with all your heart, not your YouTube. And lean not on your own social media understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he shall direct your path. Ecclesiastic 11 says, As you do not know what is the way of the Lord, or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, so you do not know the works of God who makes everything. You know, you can be a doctor, professor, you can be whatever. However, you will still not be able to understand the amazing work of God. You see, those who went to space and just came back. I think their faith is even stronger right now. After having seen all of this. And by the way, earth is round. Never mind. But all of that, they are with greater faith now. So has God rejected Israel? It makes me laugh. You know why? Because I'm standing here against all odds. Not only that it's against all odds when it comes to history. …

… We want to live on the road of the wisdom rider. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to him. Now, the translation I wanted to grab here, somehow I messed up on that, is acknowledge him. in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight the word here this this word really i'll show you what it means in just a second but it's it's more clear acknowledge in all your ways so when the people come with the moldy bread and the sandals acknowledge him Thank you. when people have a ruse, acknowledge him in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight most of us probably memorize this text somewhere along the way right but this is it if you'd like to add a few to it I'll give you some really quickly psalm 32 8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go I will counsel you with my loving eye on you. Isaiah 30, 21, whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, this is the way, walk in it. James 1, 5, if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to you. Psalm 25, 4, Show me your ways, Lord. …

But how are you going to do that without God? Bible says, Proverbs 3, verses 5 and 6, Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths. That's way better. That's way better. Number four, survey says, get smart. Some of us are old enough to remember get smart. Who was anything but smart. Bible says, Proverbs 4, verse 7, Wisdom is the principal thing. Therefore, get wisdom. And in all you're getting, get understanding. You can be, I don't, remember, we talked about this last week. I don't care how smart you are. That doesn't save my life. You being wise can save my life and your life and the whole group. There's a lot of smart people doing very bad things with their smarts. But if you're wise, you will not do bad things. survey says number five acknowledge your biases we all have them it's true that's why i can't trust myself i was talking to somebody recently i don't know i don't remember where but i i reminded them of something or i told them what i always have to remind myself i'm the worst part about me i am my greatest danger oh satan is going to satan satan sure but hey here's the deal I think Satan is saying let's just let Jack make his own decisions for a while this would be great for us if I'm thinking on my own …

When You Don’t Feel Like Praying
Guest speaker, 2026-03-29

… love to look at one of everyone's favorite Bible verse of Proverbs 3, 5 and 6, trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, He'll direct your path. We love that verse, but I see so many believers who do not live that verse. They're not abiding in that verse. That is the verse that we are to walk out every single moment through every problem, through everything that you're facing each day, whatever it is, trusting God, lean not on your own understanding. Did you pray about it? Did you pray about it? So a wonderful way to think about continual dependence in prayer is through this adorable little example of my daughter when she was engaged to her now husband, Luke, Anna and Luke. And when they were engaged, they were inseparable. And when they were physically not together, they were always on FaceTime. And it was so annoying because Anna lived at home and I could never get a moment with her. …

and I want to tap into the offspring, so to speak, God's inspired ideas over my life. So he says, trust in the Lord with all your heart. So it's a place of absolute surrender. Lean not on your own understanding. Why? Because your own perception of things is weak and misguided, and it will undermine what you've said you want from your life. That's the absolute trust and abandonment in Christ. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him. All your ways acknowledge him. It's interesting. For us, the word acknowledge means Chris is in the front row. I walk in the room and go, hey, Chris, nice to see you. I haven't seen you all week. Good to see you. Glad you're home. What have I done? I've acknowledged. But that's not this word. This word is the word that means to come to know in an experiential and or intimate way. This word is actually used to describe, it's the verse in Genesis, and Adam knew Eve as she conceived and brought forth a son. …

… minute. If I put my shin to the boot, that means I am going to have to put all my weight on the boot. She's like, exactly. And in that moment, I was reminded of Proverbs 3 verse 5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding and in all your ways submit to him and he will make the path straight. God's got some of you to the mountain and he's managed to get the boot on your foot, but this is your internal posture. But God, can I still press manual? Can I still lean on my own understanding? Can I still put my plan in place over your plan? And he's like, no, I'm asking you to put your spirit to the boot, to put your shin to the boot. and so I put my shin to the boot and guess what? When I put my shin to the boot, I started moving. I didn't wanna move, but I was moving and not only was I moving, I was going faster and faster because now I'm going down a mountain and the wind is behind me and I am very much out of control and I see people in the path ahead of me and I am yelling, I am yelling, get out of the way. …

… faithful. Number three, renew your trust in him daily. trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, but in all your ways, acknowledge him and he will direct your path. When we give our lives to Christ, it's not just one and done. It's one and daily. It's walking with Jesus. It's talking with Jesus. It's showing up at church. It's showing up in your small group. It's giving. It's serving. It's loving. It's daily. It's a daily desperation. Renew your trust in him daily. Thank you. number four restore let him restore you let him restore to you the joy of your salvation when did you give your heart to jesus and if you haven't yet, I'm going to give you an opportunity to in just a moment, but we need to remember that our salvation isn't based on us. It's placed on us, and also there's a joy to it, and sometimes we can let it fade. Sometimes we can let it just kind of be like, oh yeah, I love God. …

Not trust in your logic, not trust in your reasoning, not trust in the data, not trust in what your friends say. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on all your own knowledge, all your own understanding, all your own wisdom. And in all of your ways, this version says, submit. There are other versions that say, acknowledge. in all of your ways, I'm gonna show you this word in a minute, it's the word yada, in all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. Don't lean on your own ability to figure it out. In all your ways submit or in all your ways acknowledge. LASAGNA LESSONS
Ed Young Jr., 2025-08-24

The Lord was with him. In Proverbs chapter 3, verses 5 and 6, this is a text that is our life verse. and I know it's many people's verse that you hold on to. When you're in a pit, when you're going through layer after layer of lasagna and you bite down on the glass of betrayal, trust in the Lord with all your heart and don't lean on your own understanding. in all your ways, even in the pit, acknowledge and submit to him and he will keep your paths straight. Now that's easier said than done, isn't it? That's what Joseph did. I've only experienced quicksand one time in my life. years ago several of us from the church went to one of the most remote spots in the Yucatan Peninsula it was in the literal jungle I'm talking about I'm talking about super poisonous snakes salt water crocodiles army ants quicksand it was a pretty wild situation a couple of Mayans they were little guys were our guides, and they spoke broken English. …

But if you'll stand with me for the reading of the word, if you are able. and here's what the New King James Version says it says trust in the Lord with all your hearts and lean not on your own understanding semicolon that's gonna matter later we gonna stop there I know that's a cliffhanger you want me to finish but I'm not gonna finish yet we are gonna stop at verse 5 so as you are taking your seat I ask that you join me in the title of this sermon one thing I I know for sure. One thing I know for sure. Pray with me. God, in Exodus, there's a simple word. You say, God saw Israel and God knew. And I'm grateful that you are a God who knows. …

Take Me to the King, Rev. Dr. Eboni Marshall-Turman
Rev. Dr. Eboni Marshall-Turman, 2020-01-27

… be anxious for nothing, but in all things with prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving, make your request known to God, though it's been said, trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding. You're always worried about the end of a good thing. It's easy. It's easy. It's easy to think we are the only ones going through something. It's easy, sisters and brothers, to believe that if we just had a little more money, if we had better clothes, St. John, or Lanvin, or Chanel, if only we had the right pair of shoes, red by, the real name is Louboutin, Manolo Blahnik, the right bag, Prada, or Vuitton, the right spouse, Idris. If we could be a little bit more like him or like her, you know how we like to compare ourselves one against the other without knowing what he had to go through. Without knowing the choices she had to make, without knowing the burdens he has to bear, without knowing the bruises she had to carry. …
