… So not only is the new Jerusalem gigantic, it's absolutely glorious. Revelation chapter 21, verse 18 says, the city inside is made out of pure gold as clear is glass and it radiates with God's glory to such an extent that there will no longer be any need for the sun. The redeemed from throughout history are going to live in that beautiful new city and have the ability to go in and out onto the new earth. Onto the new earth? Yes, Revelation chapter 21 says, New Jerusalem has four sides with three massive gates on each side that never close for a total of 12 gates. Why do these huge gates in the city's walls never close? Well, because there will never be a threat to the city. In ancient times, you would always make sure the gates were closed for fear of invaders. But God just says, no, leave the gates open because not only will there'll be no threat to the city, but so that you and I, the inhabitants of the city, can go in and out of the city onto the new earth. This is going to be amazing. In eternity, there are going to be things to do on the new earth, people to see, places to go explore. I can just imagine groups of people heading out to go whitewater rafting, making new friends, hiking to waterfalls together, taking a dip in the unpolluted waters, ziplining through jungles. Life in New Jerusalem on the new earth is going to be incredible. If you think this present planet has a lot of …

WHAT IN THE HEAVEN IS GOING ON?
Ed Young Jr., 2025-11-16

… a place for you. Think about, when you think about the location, think about just some of the benefits and some of the beauty of heaven. Revelation chapter 21, verses 17 through 19. Then he measured the walls, he being an angel, this is interesting, isn't it? And found them to be 216 feet thick. This is the structure of the wall around the capital city. The wall was made of Jasper, the city was pure gold, as clear as glass. The wall of the city was built on foundation stones and laid with 12 precious stones. The 12 gates were made of pearls, each gate from a single pearl. And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass. Heaven is a tangible town. It's a real place. It's not some atmospheric, gaseous deal where we're playing harps and halos and singing hallelujah in our stained glass fortress. Kumbaya, Lord. It's not going to be an eternal church service where your butt gets tired sitting on a hard pew listening to a pipe organ. I don't know where you got that from, but that is not the Bible. We do not become angels when we die and graduate. That's not in the Bible. The Bible says heaven is reserved for those who are citizens of heaven. So if I'm heaven born, I'm heaven bound. When I was born again, I was born into the family of God. My passport is in heaven. I'm just visiting here. You remember a couple of weeks ago, I told you Lisa and I went on this whirlwind trip internationally. A passport is a major, …

… And Scripture is faithful, Titus 1, 9, holding fast the faithful word. Revelation 21.5 and 22.6, these words are faithful and true. God is faithful. Christ is faithful. And Scripture, therefore, is faithful. And then the ministers of that Scripture and the servants of God and Christ must be defined by faithfulness. Faithfulness in what sense? to Christ in their relationship with Him, and faithful to Scripture in their handling of divine revelation. The commendation of faithfulness is given to a number of people in the New Testament. Timothy in 1 Corinthians 4, 17, you're in that chapter. Go down to the bottom, sort of the bottom of the chapter, verse 17. For this reason, Paul says, I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ. I walk with Christ and in Christ. Timothy follows me in doing the same, therefore he is faithful. He will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, and he will remind you of what I teach. …
