But I saw no temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are the temple thereof.

… and let me just show you a couple of examples of that in Revelation 21, verses 22 to verse 27 John mentions nine things that aren't gonna be in heaven. Look at this. Here's what it says. In verse chapter 21, Revelation. He says there's no temple there. In heaven there's no temple. Why? Don't need it. God's everywhere in heaven. Why would we need a special building to go and meet with him and pray with him? Anybody can talk to him any time. He's all over. There's no temple in heaven. The Bible says there's no sun or moon in heaven. They're unnecessary because God's glory shines bright and lights up everything. So he's the powerhouse. There's no sun, no moon in heaven. Then it says there are no shut gates in heaven. Why? No crime. There's no need to, nobody has to shut a gate. Nobody has to lock anything. There are no keys in heaven. Why? Because nobody locks anything in heaven. Why? Because nobody commits crimes in heaven. …
… John says in 22, and I saw no temple in the city, for the temple is the Lord God, the Almighty and the Lamb. so here we sit in the 21st century learning from the history of the people of God they were the ones going up they were the ones looking back they were the ones keeping on perhaps we put it this way we now tonight are the privileged ones looking back encouraged to be keeping on because we're looking forward to a day when we're going on. Let's pray together. our gracious God, we are children before the vastness of your truth. We are searchers in your word, for we know that it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We thank you that all the things that have been written in the past are there for our encouragement so that as we endure, as we learn to look back and look around and look forward, our gaze might be filled with Jesus. …
… no church is there because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple and the city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it for the glory of God gives it light and the Lamb is its lamp this is that same one that John talked about when he came to be baptized in the Jordan River and he said behold talking about Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. What Martha was saying, you're the Messiah. You're the sent one of God. You're the Savior of God. You're the one who's come from God to take away the sins of the people and to save the people. this Lord Jesus is also a lamb who lights forever. The nations will walk by its light and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. On no day will its gates ever be shut for there will be no night. The glory and the honor of the nations will be brought into it. …
… And Scripture is faithful, Titus 1, 9, holding fast the faithful word. Revelation 21.5 and 22.6, these words are faithful and true. God is faithful. Christ is faithful. And Scripture, therefore, is faithful. And then the ministers of that Scripture and the servants of God and Christ must be defined by faithfulness. Faithfulness in what sense? to Christ in their relationship with Him, and faithful to Scripture in their handling of divine revelation. The commendation of faithfulness is given to a number of people in the New Testament. Timothy in 1 Corinthians 4, 17, you're in that chapter. Go down to the bottom, sort of the bottom of the chapter, verse 17. For this reason, Paul says, I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ. I walk with Christ and in Christ. Timothy follows me in doing the same, therefore he is faithful. He will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, and he will remind you of what I teach. …
