And scripture tells us this, that one day, God will wipe every tear from their eyes and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. So if you're living in a painful moment right now, you may be tempted to question God's goodness. I get it. but stay in his word, stay in his presence and keep walking with him. And over a lifetime of knowing him and serving him, you will see he is trustworthy, he is faithful, he is good and he is just. And that's why I tell you, God is good. And all the time, God is good. We've talked a lot about a bunch of different questions today. And underneath all of them is something that almost all of us battle with. I know I do. And that's control. As parents, we wanna control what happens to our kids. And our friends or our family, we wanna control what they do or how they respond. We wanna control what happens to us. …

What Will Heaven Be Like?
Robert Jeffress, 2026-08-31

… and that will be gone forever. And that's exactly what John says in verse four, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there shall no longer be any death. There shall no longer be any mourning or crying or pain, for the first things will have passed away. That's what John saw. He saw a new heaven and a new earth, and he saw the new Jerusalem coming down out of heaven to earth. This city, the new Jerusalem, will be the centerpiece of the new heaven and the new earth. Notice the architect of this city. He identifies himself in verse 5 of Revelation 21. And he who sits on the throne said, behold, I am making all things new. And he said, write, for these words are faithful and true. Apparently John was so overwhelmed by what he was seeing, he forgot to keep writing. The Lord says, keep on writing because everything you're seen is faithful and true. Then he said to me, it is done. I am the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. …

… Let me show you another verse. In the same chapter, Revelation 21 verse four, it gives us three or four other things that won't be in heaven. It says God will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There's no tears in heaven. And there shall be no more death in heaven. There will be no more sorrow in heaven. There will be no more crying in heaven. And there will be no more pain in heaven. All of that has gone forever. Wow. I'm in. I'm in. I want to be in a place for eternity where there's no more pain, no more sorrow, no more death, no more crying. That is the goodness of God. Why is there pain and death and sorrow and crying here? Because we don't follow God the way we should here. We follow our own things. We hurt each other. We hurt ourselves by making dumb decisions. You get hurt unintentionally and intentionally. You get hurt by other people's decisions. Then there is sorrow. …

… you would say this is not God's final plan. You say there's coming a day according to Revelation 21.4 when God will wipe every tear from their eyes and there'll be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying for all those things are gone forever. You say to someone who has lost a loved one who died in faith that one day the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout and with the voice of the archangel and the trump of God and the dead in Christ shall rise first, and we who are alive and remaining shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, and so shall we ever be with the Lord. That's what you say. You say you'll be reunited with your loved one again. And that is why after he made that statement, the Apostle Paul added this, therefore comfort one another with these words. And Bible prophecy causes us to want to live a godly life. Studying Bible prophecy causes us to want to live a godly life. …

… and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more. Neither there shall there be mourning nor crying or pain anymore for the former things have passed away. And he who was seated on the throne said, behold, I am making all things new. Chapter 22, verse one, then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, brightest crystal flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb to the middle of the street of the city. Also on either side of the river, the tree of life with its 12 kinds of fruit yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of that tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it and his servants will worship him. They will see his face and his name will be on their foreheads. and night will be no more. …

… better. Number five, heaven's inhabitants will no longer experience death, sorrow, crying, or pain. Revelation chapter 21, verse four, the passage we opened up with, makes this clear. I'll put it on the screen again. God will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There shall be no more death no more sorrow nor crying there shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away so the sorrow and pain and death that have plagued humanity now for millennia will finally be over in eternity we are going to have incorruptible imperishable heavenly bodies the bible says that will never break down grow old get sick or die You'll never need that wheelchair Or your crutches Or your medication So thankful for that 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 1 says For we know that if our earthly house This tent, he's using a metaphor there To refer to our weak bodies If our tent, our bodies are destroyed We have a building That sounds better, it is better Much better than a tent We have a building from God A house not made with hands eternal in the heavens. So our resurrected glorified bodies will be permanent, fit for heaven, fit for eternity. Aren't you looking forward to that? Everyone over 50 is nodding their head. …

Jesus: Prince of Peace
David Platt, 2025-12-31

… Listen to this. How the Bible describes heaven, a place where God will wipe away every tear from our eyes. Death shall be no more. Neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore for the former things have passed away. Follow this. you can have peace today because you know and you're confident the day is coming when the conflict and turmoil and chaos and evil of this world will be no more. And can I just point out that this kind of peace is only possible through faith in Jesus. And I say this with all due respect for my atheistic or agnostic friends, but they don't have this peace because that worldview doesn't provide this peace. If you're an atheist or agnostic, you believe in a world of ultimately natural causes, which means that in the end, there will be no justice, no wrongs made right, no hope of meaning beyond the grave. It just is what it is, and we continue in this cycle. and if that's you, I would just ask you to consider why you have this innate desire in you for justice and meaning and hope and peace if this world is all there is and for all kinds of adherence of all kinds of other religions again, I say this sincerely with respect but all the religions of the world hold out hope that if you do enough good or right things, if you follow a certain path, then at some point in this life or additional lives, …

Jesus: Mighty God
David Platt, 2025-12-17

… And at this time when he comes to be with us, he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death shall be no more. Neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. Mark it down. See all the tense there. It's all future. He will wipe away. Death will be no more. Neither mourning, crying, or pain. For, now watch this, the former things have passed away. Mark it down like it's already happened. The chaos of this fallen world is as good as gone. No more evil. No more suffering. No more crying. No more pain. No more death. No more darkness. Revelation 22, verse four. They will see his face. His name will be on their foreheads. night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun for the Lord God will be their light and they will reign forever and ever with him. Reign with the mighty God who is your light. So lift your eyes today and tomorrow and every day in the future amidst all the chaos of this fallen world and live with the confidence that this is your future like it's already happened in the past. To us, to you and me, a child is born. To us, a son is given. And the reign of all things rests on his shoulder. And his name shall be called Mighty God. Which means Jesus is infinitely worthy of more than sleigh bells and stockings. …

… people permanently. The first thing He will do, listen, He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away. When I was a little kid, I told you about this uncle that was rather tough on me, and he lived in our house, and he wanted me to be a man, and so if I would start to sniffle or cry as a little boy, he'd boot me in the seat of the pants and send me outside, you know, he said, you're not allowed to cry. This one kid up the street used to beat me up, and I'd come home and my uncle would see me cry, and he said, if you come back here crying again, I'm going to give you something to cry about it? No, that was a big issue in my house, whether or not little boys were allowed to cry. But sometimes my uncle would go to work, and I would get myself in a peck of trouble when I was four years old, and somebody beat me up, and I'd come home, and I'd be crying, and my mother would be there with her apron in the kitchen. And when I would cry, not only would she talk to me to bring me comfort, but what she would do, she would take the corner of her apron, and she would bend over, and she would wipe away my tears. …
