… was seeing, he forgot to keep writing. The Lord says, keep on writing because everything you're seen is faithful and true. Then he said to me, it is done. I am the alpha and omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. Who is it that is the builder of this new city? He said, I am the alpha and omega. That's the same description Jesus used of himself in Revelation 1.8. Alpha, the first letter of the Greek alphabet, Omega, the last. I'm the beginning and the end. I am all in all. What I want you to see is Jesus Christ, the son of God is the one who designs and builds this new city. You see, when Jesus left this world after his resurrection, he went into heaven and he went back to heaven for two reasons. Right now, Jesus is doing two things for your benefit. First of all, he is praying for you. He is interceding to God, his father on your half and my behalf. Hebrews 7, 25 says he lives to make intercession for us forever. But the only thing he's doing is not praying. He's doing something else as well. He's building a new home for you. Jesus is the architect of this new city called the new Jerusalem. And I guess it's good that he was a carpenter. He knows how to build things. He's just going to come in handy in this new heaven and this new earth. Who are going to …
And then he said to me, it is done. I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. I will freely give to the thirsty from the spring of the water of life. So don't miss this. In Genesis chapter two, God finished the work of creation. He completed his work. He said, it's finished. Now come and join a relationship with me. And that next day was the Sabbath and the Sabbath led to new life. In John chapter 19, Jesus finished fulfilling all righteousness, giving his life on a cross. And his last words on that cross were, it is finished. The work is good. It's done. The next day was Sabbath. The following day, new creation, new life. You get to Revelation 21. Jesus finishes the eternal redemption. He looks to John and he says, it's done. It's finished. The following day, new creation, eternal Sabbath. Jesus is the Sabbath. And this is why he can stand in Matthew 11, verse 28 and say, come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. …

… And they are faithful. He said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega. the beginning and the end. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things. I will be his God and he shall be my child. Clap your hands and rejoice. The Bible leaves us in breathless wonder of what awaits us in a place that is called heaven. In the Bible, we're told that Paul in 2 Corinthians 12 took a trip. by God, he was taken and he said, whether I went in the spirit or I went in the body, I cannot tell, which is an amazing little insight there that people can go to heaven in their spirit. Of course, when they die, it goes to heaven, but people also can be taken by God, the physical body to heaven and have an insight like he got. And he said, I went to heaven. I saw it. I saw things. And then he made this statement. I saw things that are not lawful to even utter. I saw, and I was forbidden by the angel. You are not to tell this and you're not to write this. God has some sacred secrets that he's holding back in the place called heaven. …
… new bodies, new environments, new, new everything. Write down these words, he said, and they're trustworthy and true. He said to me, it's done. I'm the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end to the thirsty. I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. We'll be able to drink out of the crystal river in heaven on those streets of gold. and it will satisfy the deepest needs and longings that we can't even articulate right now. So it's a real place. Walls around it, meaning protection, security. Gates throughout it, meaning it's accessible to those of us who know Christ. The precious stones are just off the chain. But here's some bad news. Let me give you the good news first. Those who are victorious will inherit all of this. and I'll be their God and they will be my children. But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexual immoral, those who practice magic arts, they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. …
… And he said, Write, for these words are faithful and true. Then he said to me, It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he will be my son. How do you overcome? Well, John writes in his epistle that faith is the instrument by which we overcome, putting our faith in the Lord. So to those who have put their trust in Him, we will be given everything we need from the springs of the water of life without cost. we will overcome insofar as our faith grasps salvation and thus inherit all things, and I will be his God and he will be my son. And then shattering verse 8, starkly in contrast to all those heavenly promises, but for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. That's stunning. …
… And Scripture is faithful, Titus 1, 9, holding fast the faithful word. Revelation 21.5 and 22.6, these words are faithful and true. God is faithful. Christ is faithful. And Scripture, therefore, is faithful. And then the ministers of that Scripture and the servants of God and Christ must be defined by faithfulness. Faithfulness in what sense? to Christ in their relationship with Him, and faithful to Scripture in their handling of divine revelation. The commendation of faithfulness is given to a number of people in the New Testament. Timothy in 1 Corinthians 4, 17, you're in that chapter. Go down to the bottom, sort of the bottom of the chapter, verse 17. For this reason, Paul says, I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ. I walk with Christ and in Christ. Timothy follows me in doing the same, therefore he is faithful. He will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, and he will remind you of what I teach. …
… Write it down, for these words are trustworthy and true, for I have done it. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and to him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. Then the vision continues of the seven angels who had the seven bowls and so on, came and said to me, Come and I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb, and He carried me away in the spirit to a mountain great and high and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, and it shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a precious jewel like jasper, clear as crystal. It had a great high wall with twelve gates and twelve angels. And then he goes and gives us this vivid description of this heavenly city that measures as a cube and it's fifteen hundred miles across the city. …
