And each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around and within. Day and night they never stop saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come!”And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. And the four living creatures, having each one of them six wings, are full of eyes round about and within: and they have no rest day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.

The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. and they do not rest day and night saying, Holy, holy, holy Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne who lives forever and forever, the four and 20 elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever and casts their crowns before the throne saying, you are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power. You have created all things and by your will they exist and we were created. You mess with me, I'll stand up here and just read the Bible. The Bible is powerful. Don't need no preacher, none. And all you need is that book right there. And it's just, it speaks for itself. Now I'm going to preach. And I'm going to get it all done. And you're going to know what I preached. …
… unconcerned they're unbothered about the particulars of the assignment their eyes have seen the lord they recognize that he is the lord god almighty who was and who is and who is to come They recognize that in him they live and move and have their very being. They realize that he is good and his goodness and mercy will follow them all the days of their lives. They realize that he is faithful and loving and kind, that he's got your back. And if he is for you, then who can be against you? And that settles all the questioning. That settles all the need to have all the details. So when God says, who can I send? Who will go for me? The revived believer says, here am I sending me. And it all happened. because he saw the Lord. Now, there is something very interesting about the context in which he saw the Lord. It doesn't just say he saw the Lord. It's very interesting. It says, in the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord. …
… faithfulness to his plan. And they read like this one in chapter four, verse eight. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and who is and who is to come. Holy, as Pastor Curtis told us last week means perfect. It means without flaw. Saying it three times in Hebrew is like saying perfection of whatever quality. So this is like saying perfect, perfect, perfect. There is not one spot of breakdown in God's goodness, his character, or in his plan. And sometimes Summit Church, it just helps me to go ahead and go there. That's the whole reason the door is open for invite me in and to see it from there because it doesn't always feel like right now God in all of his ways are perfect. But see, I know, I know that when I finally see things from heaven's perspective, when my faith is finally made sight, I'm going to see that God had a good and perfect plan and that not one part of his good plan was left unfulfilled. And then I, along with the rest of God's people, when we all finally see it, we'll have no recourse and no other emotion except to worship. It's kind of like when we were studying some of the Psalms this past Christmas, and we looked at a couple of the Psalms where the psalmist was, the only word you can use to describe it is complaining, almost despairing. You remember this Psalm 88 and 89, God, where are you? …
… first creature was like a lion, the second creature like a calf, the third creature had a face like a man, the fourth creature was like a flying eagle, and the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings full of eyes around and within all day and all night long, they did not cease to say, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. And when the living creatures gave glory and honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever, the 24 elders just started taking off their crowns and setting them at the feet of Jesus, casting them before the throne. And they said, Worthy are you, God, to receive glory and honor and power and authority. For thou didst create all things, and for you they exist and were created. Lord, the church says worthy. You alone are worthy of the praise. And Father, we will not let the rocks cry out in our place. …
… and how powerful he is. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was before the foundations of the earth and is so big that he spoke the galaxies into place. And he's big enough to know every hair on your head and know every tear that you cried. That's our holy God. big enough to hold the whole world in his hands and loving enough to care about the details of your life that's our God powerful enough to speak and raise the dead and personal enough to love you right where you are at this very moment that's our God and so hear this hear me God loves you He loves you, he loves you, he loves you, he loves you, he loves you, he loves you, he loves you. He can't do anything more to earn his love. …
We saw, chapter 4, a gathering of angels, a gathering of saints in heaven, and all of them – verse 8 – day and night do not cease to say, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come. And then the living creatures, other special angels, give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever. And then the twenty-four elders, representing the church who are present in heaven, fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, and they are saying, Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created. And in chapter 5 we see a similar situation. Down in verse 9, they sang a new song, Worthy are you to take the book and break its seals. …
… 8 with four living creatures who are cherubim, angelic beings, praising God for this anticipated judgment. The praise is in verse 8, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is to come. And then there was a second paean of praise down in verses 10 and 11, as the 24 elders or the redeemed saints fall down around the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, and they begin to say, Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed and were created. You are the Creator. You have a right to your creation, which has been in the hands of a usurper since the fall in the garden. It's time to take back creation. So we've already been to the throne of God in looking at chapter 4. We return to that throne in chapter 5, and let's look at verse 1. Now God is sitting on the throne, and God is the one behind all of the activity in not only this vision, but all through the book of Revelation. And so John writes in his vision, he was transported to heaven in a vision, and he says, I saw in the right hand, or literally on, upon the right hand of Him who sat on the throne, which is, of course, God, a scroll, a book, a scroll, literally, …
… is the worship that is brought to God on His throne in heaven. Four living creatures, they begin the worship in verse 8, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come. And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed and were created." Now we titled this series, Heavenly Worship, and there is the substance of that heavenly worship focusing on God on the throne. And focusing in particular at this picture on God about to unleash judgment, once you hit chapter 6, it's horror after horror after horror all the way to chapter 19 until Christ returns. …
… a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle. And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within and day and night. They do not cease to say, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come. And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and because of your will they existed and were created. That's an incredible scene in heaven. We would never know anything about it were it not for the fact that the Lord gave John this vision and revealed it to him. …
… and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within. And day and night they never cease to say, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever. The 24 elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created. Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals? …
… the second living creature was like an ox the third living creature with the face of a man the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight and the four living creatures each of them with six wings are full of eyes all around and within and day and night they never cease to say, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. … you know i i try to when i remember like the first words out of my mouth i try to just say holy holy holy is the lord god almighty who was and is and is to come because i think about how those angels have been doing that all night while i was sleeping and i just want to join with them because it helps remind me that this is not about me. Okay, they all encircle the throne, and they're not thinking, oh, I'm tired today, I'm this, I'm that. They just, they're looking at the throne, and I need to do that. I need to wake up and first thing out of my mouth, just like those angels day and night going, it's not about me, it's about you. Being holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, is, is to come. You've always been, I've been here 50 years. You've been around forever. You know, billions, trillions, forever and ever and ever. Eternity passed. …
… that are looking at God going, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. It says day and night, they never cease saying, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come. I doubt there's ever a day where one of them goes, worship wasn't that good today. I didn't really like it. You know, I'm serious. You guys, how screwed up are our minds from this type of thinking where we've got to get back to just the simple book, the simple communion where we flock in our dorm rooms and in homes everywhere, and we're just excited to be with brothers and sisters coming in the presence of God and going, no way, we get to speak to him? Are you kidding? We get to speak to him? No way. Someone's going to read from the book, and we're just going to tremble at his book? …
… heaven, and then those angels that day and night never cease to say, holy, holy, holy is a Lord God almighty who was and is and is to come. And I really believe that God didn't want me to preach anymore, that he just wanted us to spend the next half of my talk, the next 25 minutes saying, holy, holy, holy is a Lord God almighty who was and is and is to come in Portuguese. And I said, does that disappoint you? That I fly all the way from America. And what we're going to do for the next 25 minutes is we're going to join that chorus of the angels and just say, holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come. And yet thousands of people in Portuguese, Santo, Santo, Santo, Senhor, Deus Todo Poderoso. You know, just I'm saying it wrong, but, you know, just it's getting louder. We're screaming. We're jumping up and down. We're running all over the place just screaming those words. …
