… For the day of God's wrath has come and who is able to stand? who is it that stands fast during times of persecution like Dietrich Bonhoeffer did who is it that will be able to withstand the wrath of the lamb in the judgment day of God we're going to answer that question today in Revelation chapter 7 if you have your Bibles turn there as we look at the greatest revival in human history. Revelation chapter 7. John is going to answer the question, who will be able to stand through the great tribulation? Now look at verse 1, the vision of the restraining and sealing angels. After verse 1, after this, I saw four angel standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth so that no wind would blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree. In verse two, and I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun. That's from the east. It's always an indication of salvation that's about to come. I saw another angel rising from the east, having the seal of the living God. …

God’s Judgments Unsealed
Robert Jeffress, 2026-08-04

… that they are deserving of the wrath of God. And that's why they cry out for the day of God's wrath has come. And who is able to stand? Who is able to withstand the certain coming judgment of God? no one. Nobody can survive that judgment except those who have put on the white garment of forgiveness that Jesus Christ offers today. That's why the Bible says, today is the day of salvation. Do not harden your hearts. As we'll see over and over again, the message of the revelation is clear. You can accept Jesus' gracious offer of salvation today, or you will face the certain wrath of Jesus someday. I truly wish we had more than 30 minutes to go deeper into this important subject. My original presentation was abbreviated so that it would fit into the half-hour program. But in a moment, David will explain how you can receive the unedited collection of messages in the Final Conquest teaching series. As we close today, let me remind you that Pathway to Victory is entirely dependent on friends like you who give voluntary gifts. …

What Will Happen The Day After The Rapture? I Jentezen Franklin
Jentezen Franklin, 2026-04-26 · Scripture reading

… on us, hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of his wrath has come and who is able to stand. the wrath of the lamb is signifying the fact that the church has been taken out and now judgment will come upon this earth in a way that we cannot imagine and in case you think that I am over exaggerating what the bible prophesies and predicts will happen right after the coming of Jesus Christ I want you to hear the words of Christ himself If you can't believe everything he says, you can't believe anything. And in Matthew chapter 24 and verse 21, he said, and then shall come, there shall be great tribulation. The great tribulation such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, nor ever shall be. Jesus himself said there's coming a time that will come upon this earth after his return and the rapture of the church that it will be called terrible it's known as the tribulations and I want to tell you exactly what the scripture says John was shown a vision and he tells exactly what will happened, but I wanted to know that Jesus himself said a great tribulation is coming such as the world has never seen, but he wasn't the only one. Then in the words of Jeremiah, the prophet, Jeremiah 36 and seven, he sees a man in a vision who is laboring like a woman in travail. And he …

… They said to the mountains and to the rocks, "'Fall on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?' So it is that sixth seal that launches the great day of wrath, the day of the Lord as we call it, the time that our Lord referred to as the Great Tribulation. So by the time we come to chapter 8, all of those things have already happened, those first six seals. In addition to that, there has been salvation brought to the people of Israel. We saw that in chapter 7. There has been salvation brought to the world, so there is an innumerable number of people from every tongue and tribe and nation who have come to know Christ through the gospel. So the greatest outpouring of salvation in human history will be taking place. So again, by the time we come to chapter 8, the church has been taken up to be with the Lord. …

Final Judgment Launched (Revelation 8:1-5)
John MacArthur, 2024-04-14

… us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?" At the breaking of the sixth seal you have the launch point of the day of wrath. Not only the wrath of the one who sits on the throne, who is God, but the wrath of the Lamb. That most interesting statement in verse 16. wrath is not just the wrath of God, it is the wrath of the Lamb. And it is designated in verse 17 as the great day of their wrath. So when the Lord breaks that sixth seal, we know that the great day of divine final wrath is about to come. takes you into chapter 8 and the seventh seal. The seventh seal, as we note, describes those final judgments under seven trumpet judgments in the day of the Lord. Let me give you a little background about the day of the Lord. It's a familiar term to anyone who reads the Old Testament, and there are occasions when the day of the Lord refers to some historical judgment, judgment, like the judgment of the Babylonian captivity on Judah, like the judgment on Edom. …

… on us and hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come." They finally recognize by the time the sixth seal hits that this is the wrath of God they're experiencing. This is the wrath of the Lamb they're experiencing. And it comes with massive devastation. And just to make it as clear as I can, it kills all the ungodly. It kills all of them. And that poses the question, who is able to stand? Who can survive? We know the extent of the death from the words of the apostle Paul back in 2 Thessalonians. Listen to this, first chapter of 2 Thessalonians. The Lord Jesus will be revealed from heaven. This is at His coming, and of course leading up to it, the judgments begin. But when He finally comes in the end, He will come from heaven with His mighty angels in in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. …

Scared to Death (Revelation 6:12-17)
John MacArthur, 2024-03-03 · Scripture reading

… of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb. For the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand? terrifying reality. John is given a vision of the final destruction of this earth, at least the beginning of that final destruction. You can see just by the phenomenon that is indicated here that the earth will undergo a massive change, and so will the sky. And it will all be judgment from God. Now, when we got into chapter 6 at the beginning of the chapter, we stepped into judgment. From chapter 6 all the way to chapter 19, you have laid out the future judgment of God upon this world in detail. It began, you will remember, with four horsemen in a vision that John had. The first indicated the coming of temporary global peace. We talked about that, and led by the man of lawlessness or the Antichrist. But it doesn't last very long because the second horse and the second seal brings war. …

… "'Fall on us, rocks, to hide us from the presence of Him who sits on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, for the great day of their wrath has come, and who is able to stand?' They finally know what's happening. It is divine judgment. Divine judgment. This is the great day of wrath that is coming. There's nothing about it that would be impossible in our world today. In ancient times, you couldn't possibly kill a fourth of the population of the world with bows and arrows and swords. killing a fourth of the population of the world today. We understand that and how that could happen. All these things that are featured in these prophecies are possibilities in the world in which we live. And that means that the rapture of the church is very near. And you want to make sure you're in Christ, right? Let's pray. Father, we thank You for, again, the truth which prevails over all the deception, all the lies, all the error. …

… fall on us and hide us from the face of him who was seated on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb for the great day of their wrath has come and who can stand Oh my God. After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree. Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads. And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000 sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel. 12,000 from the tribe of Judah were sealed. 12,000 from the tribe of Reuben. …

And he describes it like a vineyard. He goes, man, I'm caring for it. I'm pulling the weeds. I'm moving the rocks. I'm watering, fertilizing, and there's nothing there. In verse 4, he says, what more was there to do for my vineyard that I have not done in it? But again, in verse 5, he says, man, 15, Man is humbled and each one is brought low and the eyes of the haughty are brought low. But the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice and the holy God shows himself holy in righteousness. Verse 20, woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. …
