… through terrible persecution, but they come out to glory on the other side. They are delivered out of the tribulation. These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. And look at this. And they have washed their robes and they have made them white in the blood of the lamb. to a non-Christian that seems so strange. What do you mean make white by the blood of the lamb? How can blood make anything white? Blood's not a bleaching agent. It's a staining agent. Have you ever tried to wash blood out of a garment? It's hard. It's difficult. But this is the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It's the beauty of the gospel. It doesn't matter how stained with sin, how filthy, how dirty your life is, when you trust in Jesus' death, his blood on the cross to save you from God's penalty for your sin, God takes your ugly, dark, and dirty sin, and he makes you as white as snow in his presence. That is the beauty of the gospel of Jesus Christ. You know, that gospel message, as precious as it is to us, is absolutely offensive to most people. To hear that their sin is so great that it takes blood, the blood of Jesus Christ, to cleanse them from unrighteousness. Peter Kreff says it so well when He writes, if you confess at a fashionable cocktail party that you personally love to play with porcupines, or you plan to sell CIA secrets to the communists, or that you are considering …

Impossible. Difficult. Done. || J.D. Greear

and ever. Amen. Then one of the elders addressed me saying, who are these, John? Clothed in white robes, and from where have they come? I said to him, sir, you know. And he said to me, these are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear and those who keep what is written in it for the time is near. And all God's people said, amen, amen. You may be seated. You may be seated. How many Mission Impossible fans do we have out there? Raise your hand. Mission Impossible fans. I have always loved Tom Cruise in those movies. He is no Nicolas Cage, but he at least gets an honorable mention from me. Each one of the 422 two Mission Impossible movies, basically starts the same. Ethan Hunt, played by Tom Cruise, of course, opens a suspicious-looking package that contains an invitation to save humanity from some sinister villain hell-bent on a global catastrophe. …

He Loves You, and Not Just You
David Platt, 2026-03-11

… I said to him, sir, you know. He said to me, these are the ones coming out of the great tribulation in this world. They've washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb who's paid the price for their sin. Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in the temple and he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence. Watch this. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more. The sun shall not strike them nor any scorching heat for the lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd and he will guide them to springs of living water and God will wipe every tear from their eyes. Yes. This is what we're living for. Not just to be there but to bring as many ones as possible there. from every nation, from all the tribes, all the peoples, all the languages, to a day when we will worship God and we will not hunger anymore. …

The Coming Global Salvation (Revelation 7:9-17)
John MacArthur, 2024-04-07 · Scripture reading

… elders answered, saying to me, These who are clothed in white robes, who are they, and where have they come from? I said to him, My Lord, you know. And he said to me, These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple, and He who sits on the throne will spread His tabernacle over them. They will hunger no longer, nor thirst any more, nor will the sun beat down on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb in the center of the throne will be their shepherd and will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe every tear from their eyes. It's an amazing picture. It depicts a global salvation event, a coming global salvation event. Now remember, the book of Revelation is going back to the future, back to the first century to understand the end of all human history. …

Overtime, Min. Elijah McDavid III
Min. Elijah L. McDavid, III, 2020-03-03

… well, let me tell you why they're shouting and clapping. The Bible says that these are they who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and God's getting ready to wipe away every tear from their eyes. Somebody needs to hear this. God will give you a leap year so full of blessings, it will make the pain of the last four years worthwhile. I'm done, but there's one more observation I need to lift up. Before I leave you tonight, church, we have to deal with what makes this passage so peculiar. It's not just the miracle of the Lord heeding Joshua's voice. Hope, what strikes me about this passage is when I read it from the perspective of the people Israel is fighting. What makes the nation of Israel so peculiar is not just that they are homeless refugees. What makes them unique is the fact that they are a monotheistic people. They believe in one God. …
