The Coming Kingdom – Part 2
Robert Jeffress, 2026-08-27

… Lord, do not throw us into the abyss. Even they didn't want to go to that place. It was so horrible. We saw this place in Revelation 9 verses 1 and 2. The fifth trumpet judgment when a fallen angel was allowed to release a group of demonic scorpions to spread all over the earth. But now we have a heavenly angel who has been given a key and a chain. For what purpose? Look at verse 2. And this angel laid hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and he bound him for a thousand years. Remember last time in chapter 19, we saw that at the battle of Armageddon, the Antichrist and the false prophet are seized by an angel and they are cast into the lake of fire. But what about the third part of that satanic trinity, Satan himself? Well, he has a special destiny. That is, this angel takes him and bounds him for a thousand years. In other words, to put him into this place called the abyss, the bottomless pit. I want you to notice the four names that are used to describe Satan. He's called a dragon. Day of the Demons
Robert Jeffress, 2026-08-07 · Scripture reading

… I want you to turn for a very sobering passage in Revelation 9 as we discover what happens on the day of the demons. Revelation chapter 9. Look at verse 1. Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven, which had fallen to earth, and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. This fallen angel was given by God a key, and it was a key to a bottomless pit. Look at verse 2. And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit. Where is this bottomless pit. And what is it? The abyss is the place where a group of demons who have already been judged are being held captive until their final judgment and dispatch into the eternal lake of fire. This angel, this demon was given a key to open the bottomless pit, but notice what else that he saw besides the smoke and the fire. He saw demonic tormentors from the abyss. Look at verse three. Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth and power was given them as the scorpions of the earth have power. And they were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. That's the 144,000 who've been sealed and saved by God. …

… introduction, let's look at the fifth trumpet, the fifth trumpet, chapter 9, verse 1. Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth, And the key of the bottomless pit was given to him. Now we need to stop there and get our bearings a bit. The fifth angel sounded, one of those special angels mentioned back in chapter 8, verse 2, who stand in the presence of God. We call them a presence angel, an angel whose responsibility is to stand close to God and at the appropriate moment to make an announcement about coming judgment. And when this angel sounds his trumpet, John says, in seeing this vision, I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth. Now we've seen stars falling already. Back in chapter 6, we saw some stars falling. In chapter 8, verse 8 and verse 10, the second angel and the third angel, as I just mentioned, some heavenly bodies come out of the sky and crash into the earth. …
