Tremble at God's Word
David Platt, 2026-09-30

… And so we know about God as plain to them because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power, divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what is made so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. But their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts, the sexual impurity, for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and they worshiped and served created things rather than the creator who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts that ought not to be done. …

He's made it plain to them. In creation around them, God has shown himself, his glory. In such a way that verse 21, right after this, in case we didn't get it in verse 18, 19, 20, it says, for although they knew God, you have knowledge of God. So wherever you're unreached, you're an unreached person, you have knowledge of God. but second you have rejected God you've rejected God verse 21 for although they knew God they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him but they became futile in their thinking and their foolish hearts were darkened claiming to be wise they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things the story is for every person on the planet. …

The Daze Of The Antichrist – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-04-08

… Why? Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world is invisible, attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. Even his eternal power in Godhead. Did you ever think about the little guy running around in the jungles of Amazon? In the woods? In the rainforest? And you're wondering, how come somebody hasn't gotten to... Stop preaching to me. you should go down to the jungles of Amazon. God says, don't worry about it. I've already talked to the guy running around in the Amazon. Isn't that amazing? Even his eternal power and God is so that they are without excuse. Because although they knew God, that is that they knew of God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools. and change the glory of the incorruptible God, watch this, into an image made like corruptible man. I'm going to read to you now evolution backwards. Man and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Isn't that interesting? You read it the other way, creeping things from microscopic onward, upward, into four-footed animal things, bird-type things into man. …

Dr. Kevin DeYoung | Without Excuse
Kevin DeYoung, 2026-03-02

… We ask in Jesus' name, amen. We come this morning to Romans chapter 1, verses 18 through 20. Romans chapter 1, 18 through 20. So we continue with this series of Romans, having heard in verses 16 and 17 really the great theme of this greatest letter ever written about the gospel and the revelation of the righteousness of God, we now, on the heels of that theme, introduce a new but related subject, which will be our companion, I expect, for many weeks. Verse 18, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived ever since the creation of the world and the things that have been made, so they are without excuse. This is one of those passages in Romans, and there will be many more like it, where you need to ask yourself this question. …

… who suppress the truth of God by their wickedness. Since what may be known about God, listen to this, is plain to them because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that men are without excuse. And it says in verse 21, for although they knew God, plain and simple, the Bible is saying here that all people everywhere, all over this map, have knowledge of God, no matter where they live. God has made himself known clearly in creation, in our hearts, so that all are without excuse. No one can say, you didn't show yourself. He has shown himself to all. Of course, not all people say they believe in God. That leads to the second truth. All people reject God. Romans 1, 21 through 25. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. …

Louie Giglio, 2024-12-22

… And Romans, against all the godlessness and wickedness of people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. since what may be known about God is plain to them. The heavens are declaring the glory of God because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal powers, divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God or gave thanks to him. But their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. And although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and they exchanged. Can you say exchange with me? They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. They traded the weight and the worth. For what? something made by human hands. looking back to that exodus moment the psalmist wrote they exchanged their glorious god for an image of a bull you know this sentence could have easily ended right there but god didn't want it to end right there he's trying to make a point for a bull which eats grass. …
