Tremble at God's Word
David Platt, 2026-09-30

… because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power, divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what is made so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. But their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore, God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts, the sexual impurity, for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and they worshiped and served created things rather than the creator who is forever praised. Amen. Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts that ought not to be done. even though women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way men abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another, men committed indecent acts with other men and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind that ought not to be done. They've become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They're full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. …

I Just Need A Second Wind - Dr. Oscar Williams
Dr. Oscar Williams, 2026-07-12

… Paul even tells us in Romans, he says, For since the creation of the world, the invisible things of Him are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead. Throughout the Bible, God is aligned, defined, and anthropomorphized morphifies through the lenses of nature and the elements. We see God, and we can never get confused that He is the God over nature, but not create a God of nature. There are religions and sets that look at the things that God created, and they start to worship them, the universe, the sun, the moon, the stars, and they get confused. They get more enthralled about the creation instead of honoring the sovereign creator. And we must be careful that we always recognize that he is the God over creation. And we see him in elements. We see him in elements of nature. We see him in water. Water being the first requirement of life. Nothing survives without it. Water cleanses. Water quenches. Water sustains. And water flows. Water cleanses. That's why we do baptism. …

The Coming Of The King
Jack Hibbs, 2026-05-20

… For God has shown it to them. for since the creation of the world his invisible attributes are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made you and I are made even his eternal power and Godhead so that they are without excuse wow to that that's incredible that's powerful we can relate to the concept of right and wrong and a kingdom of light and a kingdom of darkness kingdoms warring because we've got this law written in our heart. Even if we're not even a Christian, God has written it on the human soul. And people try to talk themselves out of the existence of God. I don't think God exists. They're actually, it's getting comical when people say that. They're fully nobody but themselves. I don't even think they're full of themselves. You know how when you were a kid and you would go down an alley and it's dark at night, Did you do that? We did that. Back in my day, life was so cool. …

The Daze Of The Antichrist – Part 2
Jack Hibbs, 2026-04-08

… Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world is invisible, attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made. Even his eternal power in Godhead. Did you ever think about the little guy running around in the jungles of Amazon? In the woods? In the rainforest? And you're wondering, how come somebody hasn't gotten to... Stop preaching to me. you should go down to the jungles of Amazon. God says, don't worry about it. I've already talked to the guy running around in the Amazon. Isn't that amazing? Even his eternal power and God is so that they are without excuse. Because although they knew God, that is that they knew of God, they did not glorify him as God, nor were they thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools. and change the glory of the incorruptible God, watch this, into an image made like corruptible man. I'm going to read to you now evolution backwards. Man and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Isn't that interesting? You read it the other way, creeping things from microscopic onward, upward, into four-footed animal things, bird-type things into man. …

Dr. Kevin DeYoung | Without Excuse
Kevin DeYoung, 2026-03-02

… We ask in Jesus' name, amen. We come this morning to Romans chapter 1, verses 18 through 20. Romans chapter 1, 18 through 20. So we continue with this series of Romans, having heard in verses 16 and 17 really the great theme of this greatest letter ever written about the gospel and the revelation of the righteousness of God, we now, on the heels of that theme, introduce a new but related subject, which will be our companion, I expect, for many weeks. Verse 18, For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived ever since the creation of the world and the things that have been made, so they are without excuse. This is one of those passages in Romans, and there will be many more like it, where you need to ask yourself this question. …

TREASURE FOR TRINKETS
Ed Young Jr., 2025-09-21

… That is what Paul is getting at. Let's talk about another trade. There's four trades. The second trade is glory for idols. Glory for idols. Let me skip back up to verse 20. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So people are without excuse. So Paul's argument, again, attorneys here, he has presented the fact that we have a sin problem, that it's a sin problem, a sin problem. But then he said, hey, just to underscore and highlight my argument, that no one, no one here has an excuse. We know because of our conscience. We know because of the cosmos. And we know because of this morality that's stamped into our spirit. I used to work with a guy and I knew the guy was not a truth teller. You know, sometimes you meet people and it's like, there's no way she's telling the truth. There's no way he's telling the truth. …

… because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that men are without excuse. And it says in verse 21, for although they knew God, plain and simple, the Bible is saying here that all people everywhere, all over this map, have knowledge of God, no matter where they live. God has made himself known clearly in creation, in our hearts, so that all are without excuse. No one can say, you didn't show yourself. He has shown himself to all. Of course, not all people say they believe in God. That leads to the second truth. All people reject God. Romans 1, 21 through 25. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him. But their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. …

The Thread of Glory - Louie Giglio
Louie Giglio, 2024-12-22

… because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world, God's invisible qualities, his eternal powers, divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that people are without excuse. For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God or gave thanks to him. But their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. And although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and they exchanged. Can you say exchange with me? They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. They traded the weight and the worth. For what? something made by human hands. looking back to that exodus moment the psalmist wrote they exchanged their glorious god for an image of a bull you know this sentence could have easily ended right there but god didn't want it to end right there he's trying to make a point for a bull which eats grass. …
