But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it patiently. But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.But if we hope for that which we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Be Careful How You Wait - Heath Hatmaker

… Now, hope that is seen is not hope for who hopes in what he sees. But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience. Again, back in the Psalm, Psalm 40 says, I waited patiently for the Lord and he inclined to me and he heard my cry. He drew me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and he set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. Later in this book, in Isaiah chapter 40, it says, even youth shall faint and be weary. Young men shall fall exhausted, but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint. And that's just a few points, scriptures, passages, encouragement in God's word where he teaches us how to wait. … in hope, as Paul says in Romans. Now, who hopes for what he sees? We don't see it yet, right? But if we hope for what we do not yet see, we wait for it with endurance. And that's the part that the Corinthians were missing. I think this is an accurate thing to say, Mike, that it's only in the Corinthian letters that Paul calls the gospel foolish and weak. Only there. In Romans, it's just the power of God for salvation, right? In Ephesians and Colossians, it's the message of Christ's triumph over the powers. But in Corinth, see, this was the cultural need, and he had to try to put that to death so that they could emerge again and hope for the fullness of life. Amen. Amen. Christ is risen and we too shall arise. He is risen and he has feet. It's in Matthew chapter 28. Amen. Taught by Jesus and trusting in His promises, we are bold to pray.

… Come on. But if we hope for that, we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. See, this is how he purges you. This is how he fixes you. In the waiting for what you hope for, he purges the desires of your heart. he changes what you need he changes what you desire he changes what you value and he didn't answer you when you threw your temper tantrum because God is not excited about how you feel I feel some kind of way likewise the spirit also helpeth our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we are. I'm scared to ask him for stuff because I have asked him for stuff that almost killed me. How many people can admit it? I have asked him for stuff that wrecked my life, that broke my heart, that drove me crazy, that had me up at three o'clock in the morning and I brought it on myself. we know not what to pray for as we are. …

Yeah, Romans chapter 8, verse 18 through 28. When you have it, say amen. Paul says, for I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to even be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. I could stay there all day. I could just put up a tent and camp out in my backyard and stay on that text all day. I reckon that the sufferings of this present time, anybody got some sufferings? The suffering of your present time is not worthy to even be compared. Don't even put it in the same sentence. It's not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. The whole earth is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God, for you to peel back your flesh and show who you really are. Come on, talk to me, somebody. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly. …
