How To Get Hell Out of Your House | Jentezen Franklin

This is one of the strange instructions of the Old Testament that is full of types and shadows of that are lessons to us today concerning our homes, our families, our marriages, our children, our relationships.

1:10 In verse 34, God spoke to Moses and Aaron saying, You have come into the land of Canaan, which I gave you as a possession, and I put a leprous plague in a house in the land of your possession. And he who owns the house comes and tells the priest, saying, It shall be that there is some plague in the house. Then the priest shall command that they empty the house before the priest go into it to examine the plague. All that is in the house may not be made unclean. And afterward, the priest shall go in to examine the house. Do an examination of the house. Go through the house. Notice the condition of the house. Turn to somebody and say, how's your house doing? How's your home? How's your family doing? How's your house doing? How's your, what's the, how's it doing? How, how is it?

2:12 Every now and then you need to say, how's our family doing? Have we gone crazy? How we do it? And he shall examine the plague. Indeed, the plague is in the walls of the house with ingrained streaks. Greenish or reddish with ingrained streaks. Greenish or reddish which appear to be deep in the wall. Then the priest shall go out of the house, the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days. And the priest shall come again seven days later and look. And indeed, if the plague has spread on the walls of the house, then the priest shall command that they take away the stones, which is the plague, and they shall cast them into an unclean place outside the city.

3:09 And he shall cause the house to be scraped inside all around dust, and they shall scrape off and shall pour out in an unclean place outside the city. Verse 43 says, if the plague comes back into the house after that, verse 44, then the priest shall come and look. And indeed, if the plague has spread in the house, it is active leprosy in the house. It is unclean. And I won't take time to read it all, but verse 49 says, And he shall take to cleanse the house two birds, cedar wood. Now, this is very important. Cedar wood is a type of a cross. Two birds are symbolic of a sacrifice. Scarlet is, we know that at Calvary there was the scarlet robe and the hyssop.

4:08 that's what they pressed to Jesus mouth on the cross was hyssop all of the types of the blood of Jesus Christ in Calvary and then he shall kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water and shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet and the living bird and dip him in the blood of the slain bird in the running water and sprinkle the house seven times He shall cleanse the blood of sacrifice would be sprinkled on the physical dwelling place, the house, seven times.

4:47 He shall cleanse the house with blood of the bird and running water and the living bird with the cedar, wood, the hyssop and the scarlet. and then let the living bird loose outside the city and open the field and make atonement for the house and it shall be clean. And so I'm preaching today on how to get hell out of your house.

5:20 And may the Lord anoint, may the Lord anoint his word. I'm gonna make a mess. I want you to give this to me a little bit later. We're going to have communion together, but I'll knock it off and step on it. And I don't want to do that. So I want you to see this with me for just a moment. The strange story in the Old Testament, but it is so powerful and relevant to our homes today. In the book of Isaiah chapter 4, God said, I want my glory to be released on my tabernacle and on your dwelling places. God said, I just don't want my presence in church. I don't want the glory just to be in powerful services and settings of worship. But I really desire to see my glory be upon your dwelling places, which is your home, your physical house, apartment, wherever you live. God says, I want my glory on your home as a defense, as a defense.

6:24 Because the glory over the tabernacle was a cloud and fire. And it was a defense over them that really hid them from the Egyptians when it was there. And so God says, I want my glory not just there, but I want it on and over and in your dwelling places, your physical homes. I want my glory there. You see, in Leviticus chapter 14, the scripture said that there needed to be an examination of the home. God warned them to check the walls. And if you see streaks in the walls, green streaks and red streaks in this Old Testament story. See, they were coming out of Egyptian slavery and they were living in homes they would not build. They did not build.

7:21 They were built by people who had worshipped idols and people who had gold demon gods. And so you don't know what all had gone in there. They had sacrificed children to their gods. They had done all kinds of rituals and paganism was very real. The rolling of bones and casting of bones and fortune teller and sorcery and all of that was going on in these homes. And God said, I want you to examine these homes and I want you to look for streaks in the walls. Because what they would do is they had heard how when they came out of Egypt that the Israelites spoiled the Egyptians and took their gold. And they said, we don't want them to get our gold, so we're going to hide it in the walls. And many times they would melt their gold down into idol, demon gods.

8:19 And they would put them in the walls. and even though the Israelites with the naked eye could not see what was behind the walls in secrecy hidden there, God said, I can see behind the walls in the house. I can see the secrecy of things that other people can't see. And he said, I don't want my people who have come out by the blood of the Lamb to go into the promised land and enter into homes they did not build and enter into the curses of those demon gods in the walls. So I'm going to manifest those demon gods by putting streaks in the walls, and they'll be red and green streaks. And this is all types and shadows of things that I will show you. And it won't take me long today, but I want to just set it up.

9:14 a sign that something much deeper is going on in the home. They may have good wallpaper on it. You may not be able to see it in a lot of homes today, a lot of families today. They put on a good show, and they know how to cover up things good. But God sees behind the walls, and God sees what's going on even in the secret places. And so God says, call for the priest. If you see these streaks in the walls, it's me manifesting something. And let the priest come and consecrate that home. Consecrate that home. I want it to be anointed. I want it to be consecrated. I want it to be sprinkled with the blood of sacrifice, the physical home. I want every evil act in that place to be denounced by a priest.

10:12 And I want that place to not be inhabited by evil spirits. I don't want that to be a place of torment and demonic lightning rods for demons to come into that place. I want it to be holy ground. I want it to be consecrated, anointed, and dedicated to the family that I want to raise up in that family. I want every curse on the physical house to be broken off on. And I don't want to give the devil inroads because there are things that are lightning rods to demonic powers. And they give invites. They are very welcoming to unclean spirits. And so he says, call for the priest and scrape and clean and go through and shut it down for seven days and examine the walls. And after seven days, if it comes back, then I'm going to give you even greater instructions.

11:17 And we'll get into that. But these heathen nations are now, they're driven out. And here comes the Israelites into these homes. And the homes should be dedicated, consecrated by the priest of the home, which is the father, which is the mother. You should consecrate your homes. and I know this is strange to some of you probably. You've probably never heard anything like what I'm going to teach today, but in every home that we have ever lived in, when we built the homes, the two homes that we have lived in, my wife is a builder and we built, but we buried a Bible in a plastic bag in the foundation. And we, when we got in the homes, anointed them with oil and dedicated the homes to God. We would open the Bible to certain scriptures that we wanted. And we do that to say, I consecrate this home to you. And this is what I felt this week. I try to stay sensitive to the Lord. I have a brand new message I'm ready to preach. And the Lord interrupted regular scheduled programming. And he said, pull that old sermon out that you preached 25, 30 years ago and preach it again and declare it because the enemy's coming for the homes. And I want, and I want the physical, I want the physical home of people to be holy ground again. And so this week, even we have had some challenges that are unusual and, and so on.

13:01 And so I won't go into detail, but our family felt, and we were all together this week for the most part. It's rare when we all get all of our kids and grandkids. And I felt, and one of my daughters said, you should do this, Dad. We need to do this. And I thought, well, you know, there comes a moment when the children are helping the parents in their little spiritual walk. Isn't that amazing? And we took oil this week and we anointed a house that we were in and we anointed it with oil. We anointed the doors. We anointed, walked down the halls, walked and anointed any and everything. You don't know what's been going on. I'm not being spooky this morning. I'm being biblical. And I'm talking about the thought hit us. This has never been dedicated to the Lord. let's dedicate it to the Lord and we did and it was powerful it was powerful it wasn't for a minute it was it took it took a while but it was powerful call for the priest.

14:10 God knew they were there. There was something in the walls that the people could not see with their natural eye. But the green and red streaks were a sign that spirits were in the house and evil presence was in the house. And he said, make atonement for the house. Clean out the house. Clean out some things. Cherise loves Fabuloso, whatever it's called. Do y'all know what I'm talking about? This purple mystery cleaning agent is like, it's like cocaine for her. She, if, I mean, I know the moment I walk through the door, she's on one, she's on a binge and it's with this cleaning fluid and you can smelling. I mean, when she gets on it, she is just cleaning like a maniac in every room. That's what needs it. We need some Holy Ghost, Fabulosa, whatever it is. We need that again in our homes. Every now and then we let things creep in. Every now and then we let our guard down. And if strange things are happening in your home and nightmares and babies screaming and waking up. And sometimes we do need to do more than just have God's presence in the church. We need to say, God, I want to rededicate this whole property, this whole house. Every part of this place is holy ground. As for me and my house, my physical house, we will honor and serve the Lord.

15:52 it's powerful some people have asked me do you think spirit you know house can be haunted a murder take place something like that and and the answer that i would have is absolutely if people have done satanic worship and things like that cannot can a spirit absolutely it's an inroad for evil spirits but i want to say this if you're i would not buy one if it was a great deal. Actually, I would try to get a hundred thousand lower because you got to, and then I'd say with a bottle of oil in the name of Jesus Christ, don't let the devil run you out of your house, run him out of your house and say, this is holy ground. This is blessed ground. This is the favor of God that got me this house and no devil can have my house. Oh, come on and praise him, somebody. You better learn to fight spiritually for your house, for your business, for your property, for everything God's given you. Everything you have, he gave it to you. You know that's a Bible verse that says you have nothing God didn't give you. Dedicate it to the Lord. I'm such a terrible driver, I lay my hands on the car and say, God help this car. Hallelujah. He said, clean it out because one translation called it anger. Angry leprosy must go. Bickering must go. These are lightning rods for demon spirits. Bickering, strife, slamming doors, screaming, fusses and fights, unforgiveness, family against family. Psalms 133, oh, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren and sister and especially to dwell together as a father of four daughters, sister and to dwell together in unity. You and I tie. You and I tie. How good, how pleasant.

18:02 I gave you it. There you go. Behold how good and how pleasant it is to dwell together in unity. The next verse is so powerful. Next verse is so powerful. It's like the precious, the oil that ran down. It brings the anointing. Next verse. It's like for there, where? Where there's unity. There the Lord commands the blessing. If God can get families to loving one another and standing in unity, there is a commanded there blessing on that property. And it's so powerful. And that's why the enemy fights and tries to divide families. Because he knows that when we're unified, there's an anointing on unity always that begins to flow. So you cannot be bitter. You cannot hold on to grudges.

18:57 You cannot be filled with unforgiveness and offense at someone. Offenses will come. It will happen. Misunderstandings will happen. But God has called you to anoint your house, not curse your house with generational bitterness. But in the name of Jesus, run that devil out. get that streak out of the wall and say, we will serve the Lord and forgive and love one another.

19:29 The real problem is in the foundation of the house. One thing that can make atonement for the house is the blood of Jesus Christ. It gets the streaks out and lets the glory in. I said it gets the streaks out and lets the glory in. Would anybody like to get the streaks of divorce out? Would anybody like to get the streaks of abuse out? Would anybody like to get the streaks of unforgiveness and anger and generational addictions and curses out? All you got to do is get the blood and the anointing all out and say, God, I want you to do something new in this family by your mighty power. I need you to take a praise break if you believe he loves you and he's concerned about your home.

20:23 Hallelujah. Ask the question, how are things in your house while I'm preaching this sermon? What's going on in your house? because just as sure as Israel had green and red streaks in the walls physically, spiritually in the homes that are represented, that I'm speaking to at every campus and prisons and wherever this is going on the internet, there's angry leprosy, streaks in the walls, red and green streaks spiritually that are welcoming. they're a welcoming zone to demons and spirits of torment, depression, suicide. All of those spirits can come through these things. And we must all along have a house cleaning and say, God, you're number one priority in this family.

21:22 And I haven't been a perfect man. I have not been a perfect father, a perfect husband. but God loves it when we come just as we are and say, help my family, help. You know what? I preached a sermon one time. You know what I called it? Help. I was right in the middle when I had all these crazy teenagers. Help. I'm a parent. That's the name of the sermon because we don't know what to do. Some of you kids need to lay hands on your parents because they've been through so much and they don't know what to do. You think they have the answer. They don't know what to do sometimes. The devil attacks parents too. The devil attacks grandparents too. And we all need to pray one for another. Your prayers are just as powerful as granny's prayers. Use the name of Jesus in your generation and watch God do powerful things in your family. So you can cover it up with good wallpaper and paint it all you want.

22:27 But if there's streaks in the wall, you got to deal with it spiritually. and when you, you know you have streaks in the walls, it's when you come to church, and you feel God's presence, and as soon as you go home, and you unlock the door, you're at each other's throats, bickering, the kids are fighting, oh, I'm not talking, the kids are going to be kids, you ain't going to never get that holy that they ain't being crazy, but you know what I'm saying, there's a difference, there's a difference, come out of a great service and go home and hateful words grieve the Holy Spirit. How you treat your wife grieves the Holy Spirit. How you treat your husband grieves the Holy Spirit. Watching x-rated television grieves the Holy Spirit. Listening to filthy music grieves the Holy Spirit. It's like getting a blood transfusion from hell. You just came out of an anointed service and you were moved and you go right back into that. And it does something. The Holy Spirit withdraws and you send a welcome zone for uncleanness. Moses, go get the priest.

23:48 hear me man God has called you to be the priest of your home if something is not right don't bury yourself in your work don't bury yourself in other things and don't just ignore it but God says call for the priest and I don't want my priest the leader of the home if you're a single mother you're the priest of your home don't be passive about it say something is not right in this house and we've got to get the streaks out. By God's grace, we're going to fix this family. Call for the priests. I'm calling for the men. I'm calling for the men of God to stand up to that spirit that wants to kill, steal, and destroy your home, your marriage, your children, your grandchildren. It's not over. I don't care what hell's done to your life. God can still bless you, bless your children, and the blessing is stronger than the cursing of the devil and even sometimes our own actions.

24:50 I'm thankful for grace and the love of God. Don't you ever forget God loves you. Don't you quit beating yourself up and get up on your hind feet and say, but God loves me and God still has a plan for me and my family. And if you made a mistake, God says I'm for you. Clap your hands if you believe in that kind of love of God. Love lifted me. Hallelujah. When nothing else could help, love lifted me. Oh, hallelujah. Man, I feel something when I say the love of God. Turn to somebody and say, do you know God is madly in love with you? Some of y'all are like, man, he's on one today. Yeah, I am.

25:44 Brought your neighbor and everything. Let them know you're going to run the devil out of your house. And if they don't get something on their house, he's going to move in with seven others. How you, I'm going to give you some things that causes streaks in the walls, welcoming zones and environments that devils like to inhabit. How you compromise with friends or activities.

26:14 Have you done that? Are you compromising? Are you running with people that are bad influence? What kind of friends? What kind of activities? Are you picking back up stuff that you gave to God and walked away from? And when you were right with the Lord and when you came off the 21 fast, day fast, the Lord had severed that relationship or severed that thing from your life. And then when you're not quite as spiritually minded, you pick it back up and bring it back into your life. Please hear me. Have you compromised with friends or activities? you give the enemy entry rights, immoral company, people who talk filthy, people who encourage you to leave your marriage and go out and do whatever's right for you. If all three of your friends are not married anymore and don't believe in marriage and are mad all the time, maybe, maybe you need to get some new friends that you can see some people do have marriages that last.

27:22 come on say amen somebody and they're not ever encouraging you in your marriage if you're in one that's a dangerous situation are you are what kind of speaking you know demons are like leeches they just get fatter and fatter they just begin to suck the life out of a home and a love of family And so are you speaking blessing or cursing words, downrating, spewing words? Life and death are in the power of the tongue. And just I just want you to know that the Bible said that. It's important to make your children be obedient. Do you require obedience from your children in your house? Are you being a parent to your children?

28:16 You're not their best friend. You won't always, they won't like the decisions. No, you're not going to spend the night over there. No, you're not going to that party. You got to pick your mountains, but I don't understand parents that will buy the keg and say, I just want them in a safe environment and here's a box of condoms, go to work. You've lost your mind. That's a pathetic parent that does that. That's not right. That's not scripture. That's child abuse. We lost some more people right there, but let's keep preaching. I'm just telling you, we need the truth. We don't need our ears tickled. We need a conscience. We need holiness. We need something in us. I mean, if your daddy don't ever stop you from going out when you're showing your belly button and you got your shorts up to your whatever there and it's half.

29:17 No, no, no, no, no. that's a daddy that's what a daddy does It's not easy. It's hard work raising children. But keep the streaks out of you all. If they're going to come back home, if they're going to be prodigals, which I agree in Jesus' name, they don't have to be prodigals. And I've had some that have and some that haven't. And I'm going to tell you what, It's all worked together for the good to them that love God. and are called according to his purpose.

30:05 Hallelujah. I'm almost done. I have one minute and 19 seconds, and I'm going to keep preaching. Homes that tolerate rebellion bring rot into your home. I had rather me correct my children than them be sitting in prison because they didn't have a father who would speak up or a mother who would correct them. We need to quit being helicopter moms and dads, and sometimes we need to say what we mean and mean what we say. And I thank God that I had parents, my mother, my father. They whipped us. They used belts. They used switches. They made me pick the switch. That's demonic. Go out and find a switch, and it better be a good one. and when I would come back with something that looked like a leaf, they would get out there and you don't want me to use my belt.

31:04 How many of you know what I'm talking about? My daddy would say, when you get home, one time I was cutting up in church and I can see some teenagers up there now. I could get right now. But I'm just saying, I'm just saying, I was cutting up in church. My daddy stopped right in the middle of his sermon. He said, Jensen, when I get you home, Thank you. I felt the fear of God the rest of that service. I was tuned in. You would not believe. I walked like a mouse and he did not forget. Billy Graham said he had in his home, his mother put up a sign in his home with a belt and said, I need thee every hour. That's what Billy Graham said. And I'm not talking about abuse, but I'm talking about, my God, children need to know there are repercussions, that there are lines.

32:07 And if you cross it, this isn't a threat. I'm telling you, I'm done. Rebellion. Great glory will not stay in a church if the homes are filled with streaks in the wall. Order in your home is important. Listen to this scripture in 1 Timothy 3. It says, and this is about cleaning this out of your home. Disobedient. Children will be disobedient to parents. They will be lovers of themselves. It says people will be lovers of themselves. And secondly, disobedient to parents. Children will be unthankful and unholy. Ungrateful. Ungrateful. It's never enough. It's never enough. Your family owes you nothing. Do you understand that?

33:00 I mean, they owe you love. And if you're a kid, they take care of you. But when you start demanding this and demanding that, freedom comes with rent. but as long as you're in my house, there's certain rules and you can do whatever you want in your house. That's just how it is. Is there lying? Is there dishonesty? Is there deception in your house? Do you deceive one another? Are you living a secret life? Do you have secret conversations? Are you looking at things on Facebook with old boyfriends and girlfriends and you're a married woman or a married man? What's going on, this deception stuff? There shouldn't be any secrets. There shouldn't be any hidden things.

33:52 We have to walk in truth. Is there any addictions that have power over your home, whether it be alcohol or other things, drugs, and all kinds of addictions that people have? Are there connections to the occult, astrology, new age, horoscope? And the reason I'm asking this is approach. I'm going to ask all of you to do what I did. We filled up a, I just took a paper plate and put olive oil. And I walked all over that house and I anointed it with oil. I anointed every bedroom. I anointed the place. I walked all over it. And I tell you, I felt the Lord and we were praising the Lord. Me and my family, we were worshiping. Sharice was there and the kids were there. And we were just, we were just giving God our, our, uh, the home, the home that we were in, the physical place, the dwelling.

34:49 It's a beautiful thing to do that. And I want every one of you to do it. I want you to be the priest of your home, mom or dad. I want you to go back and I want you to get some olive oil and say, wherever the oil is applied, the Holy Spirit is welcome. And say, every devil, every demon, every yellow and green and any purple, I don't care what color you are. If there's any rainbow in here, get out in the name of Jesus. I plead the blood of Jesus. I use the name of Jesus. Holy Spirit, thou art welcome here. Clap your hands and say amen. Oh, that's silly. It's not silly to acknowledge God. It's not silly to say you gave me this house and now I want this house to be consecrated and holy unto you.

35:42 It'll be a defense. Keep it from tornadoes and lightning strikes. People running off the highway into my living room. In Jesus' name. I'm not saying nothing bad can't happen, but I just want to cover it. All right, so I'm going to close with this. How do you remove the streaks? Number one, anoint your house. You do it. Do you know that when I first pastored Free Chapel, we only had a few hundred people, and it was easier because I could do more things. But one time I preached a sermon, and the Lord impressed me to go to every business in the church, anybody that would invite me in the church to go to their business with a bottle of oil. I was crazy back then.

36:38 and anoint their business. Because we had a building program that we needed resources. And I got to go into those businesses and anointing them with oil. And some of them would do it real private. And sometimes back then you wrote everything out. You didn't have computers. And they had the schedule and it was empty. And they had to, one of them wanted me to anoint the order forms. and I just anointed with oil and started consecrating the businesses to God. I did it three and four a day for weeks and weeks and weeks and months. And I would go and meet and ask God to bless it. And do you know the resources started coming in and this building's debt-free, that building's debt-free, all the campuses are debt-free, everything. Don't tell me God will take whatever you consecrate and anoint to Him.

37:33 You're not acknowledging Him. You're acting like it's all supposed to be you making everything successful. He said, you shall remember Deuteronomy 8, 18. It is the Lord that gives you the power to get wealth. The Lord. So if there's connections to the occult world, Ouija boards, cards, crystals, get them out. Go have a burning back in your yard. Get all your old nasty books. Get all your junk. Get all your stuff and take it out there. You got any witchcraft? You got any new age books? Take it out there and burn it because you have right lightning rods. And those spirits may be your friend for a little while, but they never stay that way. They come for one reason to kill, steal and destroy. They will bring, they will turn it.

38:27 It's fun. It's fascinating. Ooh, it's powerful. Wow. This is real. It is real. and you're playing with fire. speak a blessing over your house. How do you speak a blessing over your house? Joshua said it as for me and my, everybody say it as for me and my, one more time as for me and my house. What a blessing to speak as you're anointed it with oil. We will serve the Lord and then shout about it a little bit.

39:09 Here's another way. Here's another way. Serve communion in your home. Serve communion in your home. My mother loves to do this at Christmas. She doesn't have a lot of things that she wants the family to do, but she wants us to do communion at Christmas, communion at Easter, communion, make it not just a holiday, a holy day. And lastly, I wrote that one down many years ago. I'm going to say it in public. I wrote down, walk through your house and speak in tongues. I love that. You say, I don't know what that is. Well, never mind. You just need to take my word for it. It's real.

40:06 I do that a lot, actually. the atmosphere of disunity must be broken. Some homes are just the right atmosphere for Satan, but that can change in this very service this morning. I just felt like the Lord said that James 3 and verse 16 would be the key to it all. for where envy and strife, please put King James, for where envy and strife are, confusion and every evil work is there. Let me read it right out of the King James. For where envy and strife is, there is confusion, listen to this, and every evil work.

41:07 the number one thing that opens homes to evil spirits is envy and strife. Envy, envy. Envy of your siblings. Envy of this. Envy of that. It's even taking over our nation. That's why we have an explosion of socialism and communism. Envy. Just work hard. You'll do well. Envy and strife, there is confusion wherever that is. There is confusion in every evil spirit. Every evil work fills a welcome zone. rebellion against your parents, resentment, hatred. You've got to forgive. You've got to release bitterness. You've got to release offense. You've got to stop it. You've got to stop it with you. You've got to. You must do this. It streaks in the walls if you don't forgive. Stop resenting your parents. Even if they left you, God may have trusted them to bring you into the world, but he didn't trust them to take you through because had they done it, you wouldn't be where you are.

42:40 So just, just the Bible said the secret things belong to the Lord. There's some things you just have to say, God, I give that to you, but I'm just going to praise you and have a good spirit. I'm going to ask you to stand all over this room, every campus.

43:04 I want you to take the communion set in your hand. And I want to say to all of you who are not where you ought to be with the Lord. This is an important communion. And you shouldn't take this if you're not right. That's why you should examine yourself, the scripture said, because your body is his house. Are there any streaks of unforgiveness? Is there any streaks of secret sin? Lord, in the name of Jesus, cleanse me and wash me.

43:34 And I feel the nudge of the Holy Spirit. Just bow your head all over this room. You can bring the communion set with you.
