2:16 you're tuned into the potter's house podcast where we are encouraged by powerful testimonies and life-changing truth let's go Grab your Bibles and go with me to John chapter 4 verses 27 through 34. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. John chapter 4 verses 27 through 34.
3:06 For those of you who are unfamiliar with this passage of scripture, at this time in the text, Jesus has gone into Samaria. It's kind of a big deal. because Jesus as a Jew would have typically under standard sociocultural rules no dealings with the Samaritans. The Samaritans were considered half Jews. They worshipped at a different mountain. They were less than in the mindsets and mentalities of most Jews. And yet earlier in verse 4, Jesus says, I must go through Samaria. And the text tells us that when he gets to this well at Samaria, that he is wearied from the journey because Samaria was out of the way for where he was ultimately headed. But he had something to do in Samaria.
4:08 So he goes to this well where he has an encounter with a woman at a strange hour. The text tells us that it is in the middle of the day, which is a strange hour, because most women, when they went to draw water from the well, they went early in the morning to beat the heat or later in the evening. But in the middle of the day, for a woman to be at the well was quite unusual. Which says to us that this woman is trying to avoid the crowds, that she doesn't move the way that the other women in the culture move and maybe it's because she's had five husbands and the ones that she's dating right now is not he hadn't put a ring on it yet this is a woman who's learned to live around the people who may have negative commentary around her so not only does jesus go into samaria to have a conversation with a samaritan he goes to have a conversation with a woman she lived in today's culture they would say that she lived within in intersectionality where she experienced two forms of oppression. She was Samaritan and she was a woman, and yet Jesus goes out of his way to meet with her.
5:30 And they have an exchange about her life and her history and where are they to worship. When we enter into the text at verse 27, his disciples have finally caught up with him. His disciples who understand how odd it is that he would be having a conversation with a Samaritan woman. And when we meet them in the text, it says, and at this point, his disciples came and they marveled that he talked with the woman. Yet no one said, what do you seek or why are you talking with her? They just sit back and watch this unusual exchange. The woman having had an extensive conversation with Jesus, left her water pots. In the middle of them trying to figure out what was going on, the woman who came to the well for water leaves her water pots, went her way into the city and said to the men in the city, come see a man who told me all the things that I ever did.
6:34 Could this be the Christ? Then the men went out of the city and came to Jesus. They left what they were doing and came into the city. And in the meantime, his disciples are asking questions. They're urging him, Rabbi, have you eaten? But he says to them, I have food to eat of which you do not know. Now the disciples are very confused because you're weary, you're thirsty, you're hungry, you're talking to a Samaritan, you're talking to a woman. The disciples said to one another, has anyone brought him anything to eat? They think he's maybe a little delusional. and Jesus said to them, my food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Lord, you gave me this word.
7:28 You placed it in my spirit. God, I'm praying that what you gave me would show up in this moment, that it would be clear that it is you and you alone, and father I thank you for everyone meant to receive this word that they would receive it without distractions that you would take my fumbles and stumbles in some kind of way turn it into something that is transformational in their lives only the spirit can do that so spirit of the living God we welcome you in this place have your place have your way as only you can do God, may I decrease that you would increase to the extent that lives would be changed. And I thank you, God, that when it's all said and done, that we would too be like Jesus, where we will be sustained by doing the will of our Father. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
8:23 Amen. for those of you who like to take notes I've given this message the subject move with the flow move with the flow I text lady Tanya last night at nine o'clock and I asked her if she would sing that Albertina Walker song I've got a feeling it dropped in my spirit last night as I was preparing for this message. That song was written in the 1970s, but the way that it is sung in the lyrics, it feels like it was written maybe hundreds of years ago because it resonates so fully with what many of us experience when God drops something in our spirit. That I've got a feeling everything's going to be all right. The lyrics are not elaborate. They're not necessarily the most poetic and strategic, but it does summarize very beautifully what happens when the Lord drops something in our spirit that changes the way we look at something.
9:31 I've got a feeling everything's going to be all right. The Holy Ghost done told me everything's going to be all right. What she's talking about, though, is not a coincidence because what the Lord gives us when he drops something in our spirit is not coincidental. It's not an accident. It is intentional. God has wired us in such a way that he can bypass our logic, bypass our circumstance, and put something in our spirit that brings us to a place of peace. So when Genesis tells us that he breathed the breath of life into dirt and it became man, what it's telling us is not just that the breath of life made us human.
10:26 What we also need to understand is that the breath of life is a programming. it's coding that when the lord gave us the breath of life and gave us a spirit he gave us a direct line so that when he decided to send something to us he didn't have to go through our logic he didn't have to go through our mind he could put it directly in our spirit it's a communication system that the lord gave us where his spirit can connect with our spirit and our spirit can reach a place of peace that doesn't even make sense to our mind.
11:08 That's when we get that feeling that everything's going to be all right. No operator, there's no screening. I don't have to go through anybody. God says when I create humanity, I'm going to need to find a way to get right to their spirit. Look at how intentional our God is. He recognizes that if I have to go through their mind, if I have to go through their emotions, if I have to go through their friends and community. And sometimes I can do that, but then there are seasons where I cannot afford to go through the maze to get to their spirit. So I got to have a direct line to them. I drop it right into their spirit. Have you ever had the Lord just drop something into your spirit? Like I didn't go to school for it. Nobody else gave me any instructions for it. God just dropped it in my spirit. All of a sudden the doctor told me I had a certain amount of months to live, but the Holy Ghost done told me everything's going to be all right. It's not that my circumstance changed. It's that God dropped something in my spirit that changed the way I looked at my circumstance.
12:09 So my spirit is the way that the Lord sends communication to me. My spirit is what God uses when he wants to get a message to me. He uses his spirit to reach my spirit. Romans 8 and 16 helps us to understand this communication system a bit. It says the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit. Wait a minute. It's his spirit and it's our spirit. And when his spirit bears witness with our spirit, it fulfills this identity of us being children of God. Help me, Holy Ghost. Oh, come on, somebody. That means that my spirit then begins to testify what his spirit says I am. My spirit is testifying what God has already decreed happen in heaven. My spirit is testifying that I'm a child of God because we just have a communication system.
13:08 That means that my spirit can know that I'm a child of God while my actions and behaviors may have not looked anything like I was a child of God. All of a sudden, when my spirit finally comes into alignment with what his spirit knows, it changes my spirit. This is why we have to be careful about teaching behavior modification in church and not teaching true sanctification. because when I teach true sanctification, the transformation happens on the inside of me. I know you want to figure out how do I act like a Christian, but what you really need to understand is how do I get my spirit to bear witness with his spirit that I'm a child of God? Because if my spirit bears witness with his spirit, it'll change my behavior organically. I don't have to figure out what to do. I just have to figure out how to be. Because if I can figure out how to be on a spirit level, I need to be on a spirit level.
14:05 The being is not in my doing. It happens in my spirit first. If I can bear witness that I'm a child of God, then I can begin to take the crown that comes with being a child of God. and I can act like a child of God and I can talk like a child of God because it happened in my spirit first and what happened in my spirit then overflowed into my actions. That's why some people change on the inside before it even shows up on the outside. That's why you can't come in here and think that just because somebody's not talking the part or they're not looking the part or they don't dress the part that God's not doing something on the inside of them. Sometimes it takes a minute for the outside to catch up with what the inside is doing and if the church people would be honest we would admit that some of us learned how to play church, but we didn't know how to really be Christians. And it wasn't until we really had an encounter with God that we realized I was dressed like a Christian, but I wasn't talking like one because it never got into my heart. That's how you can be raised in church and not really know who God is because until God gets a hold of your spirit, you can come in here and shout until the carpet comes up off the floors. But until God gets down into your spirit, you don't bear any fruit. Fruit comes from the spirit, not from the Behavior fruit comes from the spirit not from your language fruit comes from the spirit It's an inside job.
15:25 It's an inside job. So let me be the first one to tell you when coming to this house look in any kind of way you look. Because our job is to go after your spirit. And if we go after your spirit, God will take care of the rest. Sometimes it takes time for your mind to catch up with what your spirit receives. If I catch it in my spirit, my mind may not understand it. Maybe this is why Paul tells the church in Rome who has caught something in the spirit to be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Because what you caught in your spirit will show up in your mind. But don't make your mind wait for your spirit.
16:22 I wish I could say that real good. Don't make your mind the boss at a time when your spirit is trying to walk you into something new. Because if you insist on your mind understanding what's happening, then your mind may keep you delayed at a time when your spirit is trying to make you move. Let me tell you something. I'm going to break this down.
16:48 Let me tell you something because I caught it in my spirit. And the hardest part, this about me, this is how I'm going to undo the message. The hardest part of this message for me is going to be trying to communicate what God put in my spirit to you. Because I caught it so fully in my spirit that I don't fully have the language for it. And that's what happens when God puts something in your spirit. Sometimes you don't even have the language or the vocabulary yet. You just know it in your spirit. But let me tell you something. I'm going to work this text. Because when I get finished working this text, everything that God's going to give me strength and wisdom to translate what dropped in my spirit. And the same God that did it for me is going to show you this is going to be a live demonstration of what it looks like to take what God puts in your spirit and it translated until it makes sense in the earth. Rome has an encounter, and Paul says you've had an encounter. Now your encounter needs to come into alignment with your thoughts.
17:48 That's why he tells a different church that you need to bring every thought into captivity. Don't make your spirit follow your mind. Make your mind follow your spirit. So when the Lord drops something in your spirit, the worst thing you can do is try to make what happened in the spirit fit into your mind. My mind's got to change to come into alignment with what I caught in the spirit. That means I got to change the way I think. I got to change the way I speak because the Lord told me in my spirit I'm healed. The Lord told me in my spirit I'm coming out of this. The Lord told me in my spirit I'm going to break a generational curse. The Lord told me in my spirit that I'm going to establish something in the earth that looks like him. It is now not my job to make my mind understand what my spirit just received. The first thing I got to do is let it settle in my spirit. Because what we do is we receive something in the spirit.
18:48 And when we receive it in our spirit, we immediately try to take it to our mind. And if our mind can't reconcile it, we reject it from the spirit. So all in the Old Testament, we see the Lord telling them to meditate on this. Let it settle in your spirit. Let your spirit come into alignment with what God said. Let your spirit agree. Let it be established in your spirit. Because once it's established in your spirit, you change the way that you think. And when I say you change the way that you think, I mean that anytime you have a thought that does not align with what the Spirit says, you recognize that that thought didn't come from God. That thought came from my old way of thinking. That thought came from generational trauma.
19:44 See, the powerful thing about having encounters with God is that he helps you to examine your thought life. And when he helps you to examine your thought life, you no longer accept any thought that does not align with what God said in the spirit. because sometimes your mind needs to be transformed it needs to catch up but just because your mind needs to catch up it doesn't mean that what god placed in your spirit isn't real help me help me how it goes the spirit is so powerful that when the lord sends something that he's dropping into your spirit it transcends comprehension it transcends language sometimes it transcends biology what are you talking about when the angel of the lord comes to mary and says to mary you're going to become pregnant with the Holy Spirit. She then goes to see her cousin Elizabeth, who is experiencing a similar miracle. And she may have been thinking that she was going to see Elizabeth so that she could tell Elizabeth what happened. But the moment that she greeted Elizabeth,
21:06 Elizabeth's baby leaked, and she got filled with the Holy Spirit. There was no language being exchanged here but what happened in mary's spirit overflowed into elizabeth's womb and all of a sudden the baby is leaping and she's filled with the holy spirit because sometimes what god is doing your mind can't understand but the spirit is so strong on it that it makes somebody else's baby leap lord if i say this real good you'll mess around and say hello when somebody's baby will start leaping. If I say this real good, you'll mess around and look over at somebody else and they'll get filled with the Holy Ghost based off of what filled you. Mary didn't even have to tell Elizabeth what was happening. See, and that's why you got to make sure that you are aligned with the right kind of people because sometimes the right people will let you know that what God promised you. You've already stepped into. Elizabeth was Mary's pregnancy test. The angel of the Lord told her you are going to conceive, but it wasn't until she saw Elizabeth that she realized that what God said was going to happen had already happened because she was carrying something. Have you ever been carrying something that you couldn't even put into language, but God came and sent confirmation through somebody else.
22:33 help me Holy Ghost no words just spirit to spirit dropped in her spirit made somebody else's baby leap you see what God's going to do in this season is going to happen in the spirit first and when you receive it in your spirit the text tells us that Mary treasured these things in her heart, that she believed what God said. She learned how to take what God dropped in her spirit and let it settle into her identity. So much so that when she connected with Elizabeth, there was just a spillover. Yeah, I caught it in my spirit. And when I caught it in my spirit, it didn't matter what my mind said. It didn't matter what biology said because my spirit knew something that biology couldn't even explain my spirit knew something oh god help me i want to speak this prophetically that the spirit said the doctor's report is wrong i don't know who that is for it may not be everybody's testimony but i hear god saying that if you felt it in your spirit that what god dropped in your spirit supersedes biology Elizabeth didn't have no sonogram she had Mary but Mary was carrying something and I wish I could have some time here because I would tell you that there was some who believed that Elizabeth's baby had actually died in the womb because it hadn't moved in a long time but because Mary came and saw about her because Mary came to greet her Mary said hello and what was on the inside of Mary was so strong that if the baby was dead, Resurrecting Power said, Hello!
24:24 Resurrecting Power said, Good morning! Resurrecting Power said, I got a word from the spirit realm that my frontrunner is going to breathe. My frontrunner's going to live. Oh, okay. If you're wondering what's happening in the room, something's happening in somebody's spirit right now.
25:13 It's going to be crazy in here in a minute. I feel it in my spirit. Because God says, what's going to happen in this room? it won't even be that I say one thing in particular it's just going to be that somebody's baby starts sleeping because they realize that they've been trying to make their mind make sense of something that's got to start from the spirit and I hear God saying that if you let it start from the spirit that I'm going to bring everything back to life that looked like it was dying on the inside that the spirit is on a mission to bring some things back to life the spirit is on a mission to awaken some things that look like they were dying the spirit is on a mission to confirm what God did on the inside of you Mary needed Elizabeth and Elizabeth needed Mary because the spirit that was on the inside of them had some work to do Okay.
26:21 Try to figure out. happens in the spirit. It's God's direct line that looks past your mind, past your comprehension, and puts it in a place inside of you that makes it undeniable that it's him. It's how Paul knew on the road to Damascus. It happened in the Spirit first.
27:04 Hallelujah. So this is what we need to understand, that a revelation, which is what the Spirit comes to bring us, the Spirit comes to bring us a revelation. could be a revelation about our destiny, our purpose, our identity, our healing. The Holy Spirit comes to bring us a revelation that brings us into further being reconciled with God. It transforms us. That's why it's a revealing. It's a revealing. It's when God reveals his plan, his will, his strategy, his identity for who you are. And so the Holy Spirit is on a mission to bring a revelation. and this is why it is important that you receive fully the revelation that the Holy Spirit gives you so even in this moment if you've got that feeling everything's going to be all right you got to take a minute and let that soak in because the Holy Spirit is trying to give you a revelation that I know all hell is breaking loose against you but I want you to know from my spirit says God to your spirit that you're going to be okay.
28:10 and when you receive a revelation from the spirit of God it changes your movement revelation produces movement so Mary receives the revelation what does she do she moves even Paul even Saul before he turned to Paul he receives this revelation but then he's got to keep moving towards Damascus. If your revelation does not create movement, it's probably because it got stuck in your mind. Hallelujah. And if it gets stuck in your mind, then you don't move because you're trying to make your mind make sense of what started in your spirit. And Jesus goes to Samaria because he's got a revelation for a Samaritan woman.
29:15 He goes to Samaria because he has a revelation he needs to drop off in Samaria. His spirit is on a mission. John is different than the other gospels that we read. and that it begins to give us some language, some insight into the work of the Holy Spirit in a way that the other gospels don't do. And so when we see Jesus headed towards Samaria, we have to understand that he's on a mission to release the Holy Spirit and to give revelation to a woman about the Spirit, about how to worship, about how to show up. And what I find interesting about Jesus is that he was willing to bypass so many things because he was so insistent on her receiving this revelation that he did not make his mission fit within the cultural norms of the time.
30:15 Why does that matter to you? Because when God gets ready to tell you something, he doesn't ask for permission from the culture. when God gets ready to tell you something he doesn't ask if it's okay because no one else in your family will understand it when God gets ready to drop something in your spirit he doesn't make sure that you're the right gender or of the right race or that you have the right background God drops something in your spirit that cannot submit to what the culture anticipates or the culture allows God says I'll break the rules to drop it in your spirit I said he'll break the rules to drop it in your spirit because what I have to give you is bigger than the context in which you live in. What I came to give you is meant to break you out of that context. That's a good word. That's a good word because this text shows us that he bypasses centuries-old ethnic feud by going to Samaria.
31:19 That when he goes there, that he doesn't even care how they worshipped before. Because my revelation is bigger than the rules. The revelation is bigger than the fact that it's a woman. If this were just a meeting with the women, can I just take a minute? I try to be careful with this because I speak to women all of the time and I have so much honor for the men who I have the opportunity to serve. But I just want to talk to the women for a minute about the Jesus that we serve. At a time where scripture was used against women to create and enforce systems of patriarchy and misogyny, we see Jesus go out of his way not to tell the man at the top and not to tell a man in the middle. He goes out of his way to talk to the bottom person on the social status.
32:18 oh hold on I want to empower some women in this room who may be called into ministry but because this system say there's no space for a woman in her field in her industry that they think that they have to subscribe to what the culture says but Jesus says what I'm going to do with this woman is going to set a precedent for how I see all women that I am willing to look past the systems and structures that were meant to oppress her, to turn a woman at a well into an evangelist. We're going to get there in a minute, but I want you to understand that you serve a Jesus who did not care what society said about women because society couldn't change his mind about what he knew about women. And what did he know about women? He knew that when he created them male and female, that he created them as equals, that he did not make one lesser than. He made them compliments and help me. And I just want to thank God for men who understand that a woman has something to bring to the table that may be different than what you carry. Can we take a minute and thank God for Jesus who understood that I got to set a different example for men. I got to make sure that I show men that women can be used in my plan and my strategy as well. I know it's not woman evolved, but I'm going to say it now. Sometimes we have done so much damage to women that they question their worth and they question their anointing. But right here in the text, we see Jesus going out of his way to restore a woman. And let me tell you something, if women can keep the church alive, If women can raise children on their own, then they can also build businesses.
34:03 They can also lead ministries. They can also write books. They can also start business. They can also tell a man, you've been carrying this weight long enough. I got something to bring to the table too. We were created to be power partners. Not you better than me or me greater than you. But together, we can serve hell. notice. You better get to somebody who understands that our power is in our togetherness. It is not in you being greater than me. It is you bringing what you got and me bringing what I got. How else are we going to set hell on notice? You need a woman. You need a man who understands that together our collective anointing is a reflection of who God is.
34:52 Sorry. I had to get that one off. I'm sorry. But it's the men in here who know that had it not been for a praying grandmother, had it not been for a strong woman. Anywho, listen. Anywho, this is what happens. Jesus goes to meet a woman who is stuck in a pattern. and on the surface it looks like Jesus is on a mission to just awaken this woman who's stuck in a pattern John 4 tells us in verse 15 when Jesus says to the woman he says I've got a fountain that can spring up and whoever drinks from this water will never thirst again.
36:00 Verse 15 gives us insight into the fact that this woman is interested in a different way of living. It says that this woman says to him, sir, give me this water that I may not thirst nor come here to draw. She wants her life to be changed. I want to get out of this pattern. Have you ever been stuck in a pattern that you want to get out of? And all of a sudden, God drops something in your spirit, and he awakens a thirst on the inside of her. But listen, listen what God tells her. Jesus tells her that the way out of this pattern that you're trying to escape, happens on the inside. The way out is in. If you want out of this pattern, it's going to start with living water springing up on the inside of you.
37:02 which is a little bit difficult for some of us who want to work our way out of the pattern. We just want something to do, a new job, a new something. Just give me, because we're doers, we're executors. God, just give me something else to do to break me out of this pattern. And we see a woman who doesn't mind going out of her way to get things done. But Jesus says, in order for you to break out of this pattern, it's not going to be you doing anything differently. it's going to start with you being someone different on the inside which means that she's going to have to pivot from thirsting for well water and to become thirsty for living water the difference between thirsting for well water versus living water is that with well water you go to it you got to go get it you got to go to the well to get that water and then you got to have a bucket that goes down hundreds of feet you got to work for the well water but the living water you don't work for it springs up on the inside of you it's not for go-getters this is for you to let it spring up on the inside of you so now i got to be thirsty for something to spring up on the inside of me not for me to find something to do. Okay, so she got to change your thirst. If you write notes, I would write that down. I got to become thirsty for something to spring up on the inside of me.
38:40 I know they're telling you to fix your resume, and I know they're telling you to go and start the business, but I'm telling you that if you really want to change what's happening on the inside of you, you got to start with a thirst for a living water. It doesn't seem connected, But if you're going to break out of your pattern, you got to break you out of your pattern first. The difference between thirsting for well water and living water is that well water requires a vessel. In order to get well water, you have to have a bucket, a vessel that you take to the well. But if you're going to thirst for living water, it requires you to become the vessel. Now all of a sudden where I was carrying a bucket, I am the vessel. I am the vessel.
39:38 The difference between well water and living water. Well water you carry, but living water carries you. Jesus says in John that whoever believes in him, come on, put the text up there for me. It's John somewhere so-and-so. It's in John. Boom shakalaka. Can we thank God for the production department? Jesus says, he who believes in me as the scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. But this he spoke concerning the spirit. There is a connection between your ability to experience the spirit and becoming a vessel of living water.
40:36 the spirit springs up in me and I become out of my belly flows rivers of living water oh god we about to turn the corner then we're going home I see it on the surface it looks like Jesus is trying to help a woman break out of a pattern but when I look at what happens when we believe in him and that out of our belly flows rivers of living water. I see that on the surface though it looked like he was breaking her out of a pattern what he was really doing was breaking into a region. Okay how do I know that he's actually breaking into a region? This is not just a woman. This is a watershed. Okay. A watershed in an ecological system is a land area that collects precipitation. So it may be like on the top of a mountain and precipitation falls into this watershed. And then what falls into the watershed drains downward into a river.
41:55 Oh, God, help me. She was not just a woman. God was positioning her to invade all of Samaria. You got to remember that Jesus had no business in Samaria. But because he's on a mission to make sure the gospel doesn't just stay in Jerusalem or Judea, he needed one woman who would be positioned properly, that when she received the revelation in her spirit, she would not just keep it to herself. She would be a watershed that what happened in her would spill over into a dry place, would spill over into a place that hadn't known. If you haven't found out yet, I'm not just calling the woman a watershed. I'm calling you a watershed. When you get a revelation from God that drops into your spirit. It cannot just stay in your spirit. It's got to drain downward into everything connected to you.
42:54 this isn't just a woman. This is a watershed. And because she is a watershed, it means that when he pours into her, it's not just going to stay into her. This is why you have to begin to train yourself to respond when the spirit drops something in your spirit. Because when the spirit brings you a revelation. The revelation is not just for you. When you assume your identity as a watershed, when living water springs up, oh, I want to talk to somebody who's got generations connected to them. I want to talk to somebody who's got communities connected to you. I hear God saying, you've been calling yourself a man, but I called you a watershed. That when I dropped it in your spirit, I had every intention of it not just staying with you, but it's spilling over. And wouldn't it be just like God? Lord, help me. Give me pace, God. Give me wisdom. This woman is the lowest on the pole in society. And yet this exchange helps us to see that when the word says that the first shall be last and the last shall be first, that he was talking about people like this woman, this woman who was on the bottom of the totem pole, an outcast in society, but she was in last place there, but first place in his strategy and plan.
44:26 Oh God, help me to say it because there's somebody in the room who has gotten so accustomed to being in last place that even when God drops something in your spirit, you think that you're working from behind and I hear God saying I put you in last place because just like a watershed it had to hit you in the lowest place God help me to say it the way you dropped it in my spirit water always finds a way to get to the lowest point it doesn't matter where it falls it finds a way to get to the lowest point and God meets this woman at the lowest point in her life maybe the lowest point in your life is not the moment where you were down and out maybe it is the place where the spring is going to come from. The spring is going to come from the lowest place in your life. God says, I'm going to give you a revelation for this season. I'm going to give you my spirit in this season and out of your belly is going to flow rivers of living water. And all of a sudden, where you were at the lowest point, where you were at the last place, the roles are going to flip and you're going to be the first place. This is the first woman in Samaria who begins to get a revelation about who Jesus is. She believes that she is talking to the Messiah, which is crazy because they didn't even believe in prophets in Samaria, but she had one conversation with Jesus and that one conversation with Jesus gave her the faith to believe that she was talking to a prophet.
45:51 God says, I'm going to give you a revelation that no one else understands in your community. You're going to be the first one to receive it because I know that I can trust you with it. I can trust you with it because you won't keep it to yourself. Oh, God.
46:13 Your low place is your receiving place. Your low place. I know you don't want to be down and out. I know you don't like being the outcast. But I hear God saying that I can meet you in your low place. And not only can I meet you in your low place, the same place where you were low, I'm going to make you first. the same place where you were coming in last. I'm going to flip the script and put you in first place. This is a woman who was answering the call of God, but she was answering the call of God at a season where other people wouldn't even talk to her, where other people didn't want to have anything to do with her. What does that say about who our God is? God is not campaigning for permission to give you a revelation. God is not campaigning for an endorsement so that you can receive who he's called you to be. God says, I'm going to drop it in your spirit. And when I drop it in your spirit, it's going to change your mind about who you are. That's the word that I've been trying to get to. Calm down, calm down, calm down. The woman, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
47:16 Y'all help me. Y'all pray for me. Hallelujah. The Lord gives the woman a revelation about who she is. the Lord gives the woman a revelation about who he is that is so powerful it changes her mind about who she is how do we know it changed her mind about who she is because the woman who was going out of her way to avoid people all of a sudden receives something in her spirit that makes her drop her water pots and go running back to the place where she used to be afraid of. She received something in her spirit. I hear God saying, you won't know who you are until I drop something in your spirit. And when I drop it in your spirit, you'll never go back to being who you used to be again.
48:18 I'm going to drop it in your spirit. hallelujah i'm gonna drop it in your spirit and it's gonna change the way you move and it's gonna change your rules and it's gonna change your actions god says it's gonna start in your spirit it's gotta start in your spirit it's gotta start in your spirit because the spirit doesn't even need your mind to understand it your spirit is gonna take it and your spirit's gonna lay hold of it and when your spirit lay holds of it the world is gonna have to get ready get ready get ready, get ready. Don't be surprised if they don't know who you are anymore. Just tell them I'm moving different. Just tell them I'm talking different. I'm believing different. What happened to you? I got a revelation of who God is. And when I got a revelation of who God is, it told me who I no longer had to be. You mean to tell me I don't have to hide? You mean to tell me I don't have to be afraid of people? You mean to tell me that I can walk in power? You mean to tell me I can worship in spirit and in truth?
49:19 You mean to tell me you don't care what I went through? You mean to tell me that it doesn't matter what my past is? You mean to tell me that you can make a way out of no... What? If I get it in my spirit Right. Okay.
50:02 What happened in her spirit changed her movement.
51:50 I don't know if you can tell, but I've been moving differently lately. You know what happened? A weapon formed against me, but it didn't prosper. So I got a revelation that when the weapons form, they really cannot prosper. even when it looks like they're prospering when it's all said and done even the weapons work together for my good and the enemy should have never let me get that revelation because my tribulation produced perseverance and my perseverance produced character baby i unlocked a new character and the new character got hope and the new character got power you gotta watch who you're sitting next to. They may have came in one way, but I hear God say I'm about to unlock a new character. Okay.
52:42 Okay. Okay. Look, you gotta stop. You gotta stop. Brunas, band, these folks don't know how to act. They got an extra hour of sleep. Y'all don't know how to act. This 10 o'clock service is a little unruly. But maybe, just maybe, God's trying to unlock a new character.
53:40 and that character's got boldness. Listen, my text tells me in John 4 that when the woman receives a revelation in her spirit, that her mind has to catch up.
54:01 But she received enough revelation to move. something springs up in her. The text doesn't tell us the exact moment where she drinks from this water that Jesus talks about.
54:25 But we know that something shifted in her because of how she started moving differently. and we know that this woman didn't have all the answer because the text tells us that she takes off running and she says come see a man who told me all the things that I ever did could this be the Christ she had enough revelation but not all the answers which means many of us have tried to wait to move until we get all the answers. But when God really gives you a revelation that is undeniable, I don't know who you are, but I hear God saying, take the handcuffs off the revelation.
55:20 I hear God saying, take the handcuffs off the revelation and start walking with boldness and courage, even though you don't have all the answers, because the one thing you do know is that it came from God. The one thing you do know is that something hits your spirit. The woman says, I perceive you are a prophet. She didn't even understand fully, is he the Messiah? But there was something down on the inside of her that let her know, I'm not just talking to an ordinary man. I don't know who you are, but I hear God saying, that is not just an ordinary idea. God's been talking to you. God's been speaking to you. That's just not any ordinary person you're with. That's who God has sent to pull out the living water that's down on the inside of you. And I hear God saying that it is okay for you to change the way that you have shown up historically.
56:12 Oh. Because this woman becomes an evangelist. she becomes an evangelist. Jesus gives her this revelation. And what do evangelists do? They go off and they tell other people about what they have received. One of the first in her region to receive this revelation.
56:48 But in order to carry this living water, she had to break out of the way she once was Because what I'm carrying cannot fit in who I used to be. What I'm carrying is bigger than me, and it's meant to change me. And I'm trying to change it so that I can be more comfortable when I have to go face the people who knew who I used to be. But until you honor the revelation more than you honor people's opinions. The watershed moment can't happen.
57:48 You gotta move with the flow. she didn't have all the answers but she learned to move with the flow in this moment it could be argued that she was a better disciple than the disciples because when the disciples step into the moment they're trying to figure out why is he talking to a woman and has he eaten they're worried about things that don't have anything to do with what he's actually doing in the moment.
58:29 Close to God. Close to what he's doing in the earth, but still missing it. That could be who we become if we don't allow ourselves to become sensitive to the spirit. Listen, the text tells me, and you got to read all of John 4. the text tells me that when jesus got to the well that he was wearied he was actually thirsty and the disciples are not wrong to wonder has he eaten because of a journey that far and that long it was saying to reason that he's hungry but jesus teaches them a critical lesson about what actually sustains him Thank you. His obedience means that he is sustained by moving in the will of the Father.
59:39 You can tell when somebody's in the flow of something by what they're willing to walk away from. the disciples catch Jesus mid-flow. And while I'm in this flow, and we know that Jesus has eaten and we know that he's drank before, we know these things, but in this moment, none of those things matter to me because I am so focused on what the Father has me doing in the earth that that would be a distraction right now. My food is to do the will of the Father. That is what feeds me. That is what sustains me.
1:00:32 And we know that this woman received an impartation from Jesus because she was thirsty and he was hungry. But in the moment of encounter, none of that mattered. because they stepped into a flow. And in that flow, there was a mission. And the Holy Spirit was guiding and leading what was happening in that moment. The woman had an assignment that was bigger than taking care of herself. Wow. I spoke on this a little bit in LA. But some of us have reduced God to only serving our immediate needs. Wow.
1:01:26 but what the Lord does for this woman in the moment is he expands her in such a way that her immediate need was no longer her primary focus discovering who God is, being in relationship with Jesus and the Messiah,
1:01:57 finding out how do I let a well, a living spring, come up on the inside of me was more important to her. Oh, God, help me. I hear the Lord saying, Thank you. he spoke it to me first, that something's happening in our spirit. And we've been trying to find language in our mind to make it make sense, to communicate it, to execute it, so that we can take it and run with it. But I hear God saying that I need you to walk in the spirit like it's already done. I wish I could say it real good. I hadn't said it good. I don't know when I say it real good.
1:02:49 God says, I want you to move by the Spirit, not comprehension. Oh, because the Spirit has the power to show you how to show up. Oh, I'm thinking of one of the disciples. When Jesus, somewhere in the Bible, y'all read it, it's all in there, I promise you. yes yes yes he tells the disciples to not worry about what you're going to speak because when you get in front of the authorities i'm going to give you language if you stay connected to me in the spirit i'm going to give you everything you need can i make it applicable for you for a second in a season where you were trying to strategize and try to make your own way because it has allowed you to survive up until now.
1:03:48 That woman at the well, she had a strategy and it worked for her. God introduces when she has this encounter with Jesus, a new way of being that breaks her out of that pattern of depending on herself. And suddenly she's sustained by doing the will of the father. That's what God wants for you. and we need it now more than ever because you are going to have to move by the Spirit because there are going to be some things that do not make sense. there are going to be some ideas and opportunities and vision that God gives you and it's not going to make sense based off of the climate and context in which it exists but God says I don't want you to hold on to it I want you to move in it and as you move in it says God as you move in it says God I'm going to pave the way as you move in it says God the people who once ignored you will turn their ears towards you as you move in it says God I will go ahead of you and where you were once on the bottom I'm going to orchestrate you to where those who are in positions of power and authority begin to listen The woman at the well did not go and tell the other women.
1:05:20 The text says that she went and told the men that she jumped out of her box that she was living in. And she brought it to the men. And the men listened and went back to have an encounter with Jesus themselves. What does that say to me? That when Jesus gives you a revelation, that he also turns hearts and ears to hear what he has given you. There are resources. people strategy that the lord already has in position but because you are waiting for your mind to understand because you are waiting for your mind to make sense of it you have not activated the resources that god has assigned to your region Thank you. I want to pray with you. God.
1:06:11 I want to pray with you. Because the you that you are is not the you that he needs.
1:08:06 It's going to have to be different. Bold. Courageous. Sensitive to the spirit. Curious. That's it. The woman says, come see.
1:08:29 There's a curiosity she has. That's it. Thank you, Jesus. You lost your curiosity. and your curiosity is what God is going to use to reveal the possibilities. Stay with me. He makes her curious. Thank you, Jesus. You could have gave this to me 45 minutes ago, but that's all right. Jesus. He makes her curious.
1:09:09 When he says to give me a drink of water, and he goes, well, I've got water that you know not of. He's making her curious. Thank you, Jesus. we are going to have to become curious about what God can trust us with and who we have the potential to become as we carry it oh and why does he create this curiosity he creates this curiosity because he already knows who you can step into but you will limit yourself based on your history based on what culture allows based on what the region says is appropriate and the enemy will kill the very that God wants to use to bring you back into alignment with him You're in this room.
1:10:12 and something I said in this message that you can't even fully comprehend hits you in your spirit. It was like, God, look past all of the things that usually distract you or limit you and drop something in your spirit. If that's you, just wave at me. I'm not going to ask you to come down. Just wave at me. What makes us sensitive in the spirit is our ability to respond when the spirit gives us something. and so I want you whatever the Lord spoke in your spirit whatever it's touching maybe some of you got clarity for sure and your spirit has come into alignment with the fact that you need to do x y and z or maybe the Lord just met with you I just want you in your own way to respond I wasn't going to do this but I want you to speak it out loud Thank you.
1:11:19 whatever the Lord dropped in your spirit. Maybe it's about your wholeness. I'm whole. I'm called. I'm anointed. I'm a child of God. I'm going to write the book. I'm going to say three, two, one, and I want you to speak it out loud, okay? Three, two, one. Oh, you got to speak it louder than that.
1:11:47 I need you to speak it louder than that. Let me tell you why. This is your spirit coming into agreement with his spirit. the power of life and death is in the tongue I want you to speak it out loud as a sign that I'm coming into agreement with what God says if God says I'm coming out of this pattern I want you to speak it out loud I'm breaking out of this pattern if God says I'm laying a new foundation I want you to speak it out loud I'm laying a new foundation if God says I'm healing I'm whole I I want you to speak it out loud, speak it out loud, speak it out loud, and speak it out loud at the top of your lungs. I want hell to get nervous that you got a revelation from heaven. I want demons to start trembling because revelation is coming back to life. I know you're nervous to own it.
1:12:39 I know you're nervous to claim it. But if God dropped it into your spirit, if you don't own it, the enemy will come and take it away. But if you dare to get courageous enough and bold enough to let your spirit come into alignment with what heaven has already secured on your behalf, let it be on earth as it is in heaven. Are you okay? If you're in this room and you don't know Jesus. I want to invite you to come down to the altar. Jesus wants to sit with you. John 4 shows us a Jesus who sat with a woman at the well and unpacked with her.
1:13:38 He wasn't intimidated by the choices she had made in the past. He didn't care about her history. He wanted to connect with her spirit. If you're in this room, I know in a room this size, and with this much energy, it can be a little intimidating to say that that's me. but I'm telling you that everyone in this room has had to have a moment where we said, Lord, I want to give my life to you, that I want to remove the barriers of sin that have stood in our way and be reconciled to you. If that's you, I want you to come to this altar. Our ministers and elders want to pray with you.
1:14:27 You want to receive Jesus? Come on. come on, come on, come on. Maybe you don't consider yourself a Christian. Maybe you don't do church. Maybe you do church and a whole bunch of other things. But I'm telling you now like never before that what you experienced in this room could only happen by the Holy Spirit. And if you got a feeling down in your spirit that you need to be in relationship with Jesus, that you need to take things to the next level. I am telling you, now is the time for you to get into alignment with Jesus. God says the only way that we're going to be able to navigate these times is if we have the Spirit of God on the inside of us, and none of us can receive the Spirit of God without first being in reconciliation with Him, and that happens through Jesus and Jesus alone. If that's you, please come to the altar.
1:15:22 I just have a feeling that there's somebody in this room who hasn't moved yet. And as much as I promised people that we would get out of here earlier, I'm willing to wait for you, even if they got to go.
1:15:43 Because you matter to Jesus, and you matter to us. And we need some more brothers and sisters in the kingdom of heaven. come on come on come on take your time we'll wait on you we'll wait on you I see you coming I see you coming come on can we celebrate I said come on can we celebrate the body of Christ is getting stronger can we celebrate this is not just a person coming to the altar this is a watershed when that living water springs up on the inside of you it's gonna change everything you've ever known about you and then it's gonna spill over into everything connected to you that's what happens with one encounter with Jesus there's a spill over anointing I want to pray.
1:16:42 I want to pray. Jesus. some of you are making the commitment to move by the spirit and to let your mind be transformed in the moving to show up now the way that the spirit is mandating for this season of your life and I hear God saying it's going to change you and you're going to love who you become so don't grieve who you were Holy Spirit. I said what you told me to say only you can take these words and translate it into the hearts of your people in a way that confirms that it was you and you alone God I thank you for your sons and daughters in this room what a privilege it is to be in relationship with you thank you God for bypassing our logic, for bypassing our excuses and letting something hit in our spirit.
1:18:01 God, what is for them, let it take root and let it produce fruit, the kind of fruit that changes the way they move, the kind of fruit that allows living water to spring up on the inside of them. Oh, God, I thank you for living water touching dry places. God, I thank you for living water, moving them back into identities of authority and power. God, I thank you for living water, healing the thoughts they had about who they were and giving them a vision for who they can become. God, I thank you because by your spirit out of their bellies can flow rivers and rivers and rivers and rivers and rivers and rivers and rivers and rivers of living water. so God I pray that a thirst has been produced in this moment that they would be thirsty for what it looks like to have living water spring up on the inside of them I thank you that you're going to break them out of patterns and rhythms that they've been trapped in but it's going to happen because of what took place on the inside of them so God take this word and take your servants and take over from here.
1:19:16 Do what only you can do. Seal this word, God. And as you seal this word, God, let it be something that they're able to pull from throughout this week, that they would dare to ask themselves, am I forcing the spirit to fit in the logic or am I making the logic submit to the spirit? Can you repeat after me? Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus. Thank you for making him who had no sin, no weakness, no limitations, all of mine. Thank you, Jesus, for getting on the cross. And when they nailed your hands, they nailed my sin. They nailed my weakness. They nailed my limitations and they put it to death. And when you were raised up, free and victorious I was raised up to free and ready to move in the spirit so fill me with your spirit I'm thirsty for it I'm hungry for it fill me until I overflow until rivers of living water flow out of my belly and and spill over into the territory that you have given me.
1:20:40 Thank you for being my Savior and my big brother. May I follow after you in all that I do. In Jesus' name, amen. Can you thank God? family if you're here and you just gave your life to jesus our ministers and elders are here to pray with you maybe you're here and you didn't take the prayer of salvation but something happened and you want someone to touch and agree with you i want to encourage you to come down here for prayer where our ministers and elders can meet with you if you're looking for a church home we would love to have you here at the house house make some noise i want to invite you to come down to the left, our pastors are here, or there's a QR code on the screen. 1:21:42 I thank you, God, for this time together, this time of fellowship. I want to encourage you Wednesday night to come out, come fasted, come prayed up, come ready. I believe that God's going to continue to reveal what he's doing in this season and he's going to allow it to be a deposit in our spirit. May the Lord bless and keep you. May he make his face to shine upon you and be great.
