… What about you? you are meant to 1 Peter 1, verse 16, be holy for I am holy. When we talk about not giving what's holy to the dogs, we should see this as advice for 2026. Don't give what's precious to the pigs. he's telling you how to think through your year. For you are not common. You are not $3 bowl to be chomped on from Lucky Charms out of. Millions? Are you kidding me? What were you worth to God? The blood of Jesus. There's never been anything more expensive that's purchased than you in human history. The incarnate son of God was the price for your freedom. you are not ordinary. Oh, you're going to sit in science class and be told about how you're just smart mud and you're just monkeys wearing pants. Don't you believe it? You are made by an intelligent God, made in his image, made by purpose, for purpose, with intentionality and design. You, Peter says, are a chosen generation. You are a royal priesthood. …
… Holiness is a really interesting thing. God says, be holy for I am holy. so if God says be holy for I am holy let's talk about what he's not saying God has never had sin at all completely sin that not even connected to sin in any type of way at all so what he is not saying is be me he's not saying be exactly like me because that that's impossible, but he is saying to reach for a standard. He's saying to pursue, to be like me, to pursue holiness. Now, God also, Pastor Sarah talked about process. God also understands the reality of process and the process of sanctification or the process of becoming. The Bible says we are transformed by the renewing of our mind. As a man thinks, so is he. So there's a connection between how we think and who we become. Notice he doesn't say do holy. He says be holy. So we're talking about a being. So as it relates to, you mentioned a couple of things. You mentioned be holy. So hopefully that gives some clarity there. And speaking in tongues. Speaking in tongues is different. We're talking about an expression of the Spirit, which has a number of benefits. One of the benefits is you can edify yourself by praying in your heavenly language. I wish I had about two hours with you. I'll really break it down. But it's for edification. You want to be edified. And so there are times when I don't know what to pray, but I know I need something. …
… his blood for you to be forgiven. You know what that means? It means that your sins are capital offenses. The ransom was not money. It says in 1 Peter 1, verse 16, 17, and 18, it was not with silver and gold that you were ransomed, but with his own blood he bought us. What does that mean? It means that the penalty we owed was death. Only his life poured out, his violent death, that's what blood represents, could have saved us. That means that your sins are capital offenses. Every one of your sins deserve death and damnation. Wait a minute, you say, do I hear myself, do I hear right? Am I in Manhattan in 1992 talking to somebody that probably has more than a high school education who's saying that? Do you really believe that? I'm telling you, yeah, I believe that. But, you know, listen, I don't have to beg you. I can just tell you, until you believe that, the cross will never be a glorious thing to you. It will never melt you. …
