She kept this up for many days. And finally, Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to come out of her. And at that moment, the Spirit left her. One of the things that I hear you saying is that justice has to be interpersonal. Justice has to be communal. But what does Paul's annoyance at this young girl, what is Paul's response say to us about God's ability to accomplish liberation, freedom, salvation, even through imperfect people? Through the through the imperfect. Right. Talk to us about. Right. Right, I'm glad you asked that question because I think that one of the things I talked about is that that's why it's important to see the full humanity because we all have limitations. Okay, yeah. Now, for years I used to worry and wonder about what was it about this point that why was Paul annoyed when she said it was true? What was it about this woman, this situation that it caused him to rebuild? How did he even know there was a demonic spirit in her? He knew for two reasons, I believe, for two reasons. Number one, he knew because he had the spirit of God living in him and he discerned that there was something not right with her.
