… sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved along with your entire household. Then they shared the word of the Lord with him and all who lived in his household. the same hour the jailer washed their wounds. He and everyone in his household were immediately baptized and he brought them into his house and set a meal before them. He and his entire household rejoiced because they all believed in God. Wow, isn't that one of the greatest stories in the Bible? So Paul and Silas are flogged. Verse 24 says, he clamped their feet in stocks. They were thrown into a dark, filthy underground hole, a vermin-filled dungeon. Their shredded backs were laid open from the whipping. They were put on hard ground. They were in these stocks that were spread, causing excruciating pain. And they didn't know what their future was. They didn't know they were gonna be delivered. Paul and Silas had not read Acts 16 yet. …
… He then brought them out and asked, sirs, what must I do to be saved? They replied, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. you and your household. Amen. Amen. All right. Now, Psalm 77, verse six, Psalm 77, verse six, the psalmist wrote, I remembered my songs in the night. I remembered my songs in the night. Title of my message today is hold on to your song. Hold on to your song. I come with a word of encouragement for someone today who finds themselves in a midnight hour. The word of the Lord for you is hold on to your song. Give your neighbor my title as you take your seat. Hold on to your song. I know there's so many OGs here and people have been a part of the church for a while, but there's always some new people joining us, maybe in the room or joining us online. So will you just indulge me for a moment while I show a picture of my family real quick? …
… His blood is perfect and his word is perfect. And he said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house. Clap your hands and praise the Lord for that. The question that I want to ask you this morning is what kind of garment are you passing to the next generation? You see, you will not pass on what you talk. you will only pass on the garment that you wear if I say Jesus is my priority but the family never sees me wearing Christ on Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and Friday that's the garment you are literally making a garment for the children in your family every time you come to God's house, you're sewing it together. Every time you read this book, every time you go on prayer walks, every time you seek God's face, God says you are giving a garment and it's not just for here and now, but it's for your children. It will be passed from generation. …
… lice, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they replied, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved. You and all your household. And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and all the others in his house. And at that hour of the night, the jailer took them, washed their wounds. Then immediately he and all his family were baptized. The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them. He was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God, he and his whole family. What an incredible story. How did it start? Look at Acts chapter 16, verse 25. About midnight, Paul and Silas were doing what? They were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Every major breakthrough in the book of Acts is coming after the people of God are in prayer. …
… So they said, verse 31, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household. Somebody's watching you. They're watching your behavior. They're watching your attitude. And they're watching what you do and how you respond. And at some point, as they watch you, hallelujah, they're going to say, I want to serve the same God that you're serving. I don't know where y'all are, but I believe that we serve a God that's able to fight our battles. We serve a God who will answer our prayer. We serve a God that when others are watching us, they will see our love for the Lord and our obedience to him. And all I'm asking you to do, brothers and sisters, is be prepared when that comes to share the gospel with them. Here's what Paul said. Here's what he said in verse 31. So they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. I love that. …
this is the jailer Paul's talking to. It says, they replied, believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household. So you're saved by believing in the Lord Jesus. Now I want you to look at an instance where we see both of them mentioned. Look at Acts chapter 20, verse 21. we've seen repentance we've seen faith now let's see them both together Acts chapter 20 verse 21 says I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus they're both there one more time Acts chapter 26 go to close to the end of the book there Acts chapter 26 look at verse 20 Paul is talking about his his mission to preach the gospel. Listen to what he says. He says, to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem, and to all Judea, and in all Judea, and to the Gentiles also, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds. …
Amen. So they said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes and immediately he and all his household were baptized. Y'all. Paul and Silas were in jail and they were praying and singing praises to God. I don't care how jacked up your situation is, don't stop praying and don't stop singing. Somebody say, tell your neighbor, don't stop praying and don't stop singing. Tell your neighbor, don't stop praying and don't stop singing. I don't care what you feel like, keep on worshiping. I don't care how low you feel, keep on worshiping. Go against the grain of what your flesh wants to do and go ahead and give God the praise and guess what in due season and in due time and at the

BELIEVE HE PAID FOR YOUR SIN ON THE CROSS. BELIEVE THAT GOD RAISED HIM FROM THE DEAD. AND TRUST WHAT HE DID TO SAVE YOU. COMMIT YOUR LIFE TO HIM BY FAITH AND YOU'LL BE SAVED TODAY. THE BIBLE PUTS IT IN ONE SENTENCE, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. AND THEN THE BIBLE SAYS, WHOEVER BELIEVES ON HIM WILL NOT SHAMED OF IT. … GOSPEL TRACK IT SAYS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED? AND THE ANSWER IS GIVEN, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TRACK IT SAYS, WHAT MUST I DO TO BE LOST? AND THERE'S JUST A BOX THERE WITH NOTHING IN IT. NOTHING IN IT. WHAT MUST I DO TO BE LOST? NOTHING. NOTHING. YOU'RE ALREADY LOST. YOU'RE ALREADY LOST WITHOUT THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. YOU MUST CHOOSE CHRIST BY NATURE. WE ARE SINNERS BY BIRTH, SINNERS BY NATURE, SINNERS BY CHOICE, SINNERS ON THE BROAD WAY, SINNERS ON THE WAY TO hell. And so the very first thing I see in this passage of scripture as I think about the holy highway, friend, is there is a decision to face. Secondly, there is a direction to follow. Look at it again, if WILL. HE SAYS HERE, ENTER IN AT THE STRAIGHT GATE, THAT'S THE DECISION, FOR WIDE IS THE GATE AND BROAD IS THE WAY THAT LEADES TO DESTRUCTION AND MANY THERE BE WHICH GO IN THEREAT BECAUSE STRAIGHT IS THE GATE AND NARROW IS THE WAY. AFTER THE DECISION THERE COMES THE, THE DIRECTION. NOW LET ME TALK TO YOU ABOUT THE NARROW WAY TODAY. THE NARROW WAY IS THE WAY THAT EVERY BLOOD BOUGHT CHILD OF GOD IS WALKING TODAY. … CHRISTIAN. JESUS SAID, WHY CALL YE ME LORD, LORD, AND DO NOT THE THINGS THAT I SAY? THE BIBLE SAYS, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. NOW, DON'T TELL ME IT WON'T WORK IF YOU HAVEN'T TRIED IT. FIRST OF ALL, FRIEND, YOU MUST RECOGNIZE, YOU MUST RECOGNIZE HIS SOVEREIGN PREEMINENCE. YOU MUST YIELD TO THE FACT THAT THE KING IS SUPREME. THAT'S WHAT JESUS IS SAYING WHEN HE SAYS, SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS righteousness. Now, having done that, how is that going to work out in our practical lives? When we think of the sovereign demand of this priority, what are the sweeping dimensions of this priority? Well, let's just see if we can get practical. If, if, if Jesus Christ is number one in my life, if I'm seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, what's that going to mean to me day by day and week by week? Well, number one, it MEANS THAT I AM GOING TO GIVE HIM THE FIRST THOUGHT OF EVERY DAY. I AM TO WAKE UP WITH HEAVEN ON MY MIND. I LOVE PSALM 5 VERSE 3, MY VOICE SHALT THOU HEAR IN THE MORNING, O LORD. IN THE MORNING WILL I DIRECT MY PRAYER UNTO THEE AND WILL LOOK UP. HMM. YOU OUGHT, WHEN YOU GET OUT OF BED, WHEN you open your eyes, the very first thought, as you seek first the kingdom of God, the very first thought ought to be your Lord. …
… IF I'LL TRUST YOU TODAY, YOU'LL SAVE ME. IF YOU'LL TRUST HIM, HE WILL SAVE YOU. THE BIBLE SAYS, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. FATHER, I PRAY THAT TODAY MANY, MANY, MANY WILL SAY YES TO CHRIST. HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, DO YOUR WORK TO ENLIGHTEN AND TO DISTURB AND TO APPOINT PEOPLE TO GOD THE FATHER. IN JESUS' NAME.
… YOU CAN BE SAVED TO HEAR TODAY, NOW, BY RECEIVING CHRIST. THE BIBLE SAYS, BELIEVE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AND THOU SHALT BE SAVED. THAT WORD BELIEVE DOESN'T MEAN MERE INTELLECTUAL AGREEMENT. IT'S A BIBLE WORD WHICH MEANS TRUST, COMMITMENT, TRUST JESUS, COMMIT YOUR LIFE TO HIM AND YOU WILL BE SAVED. SAVED. AND WHEN YOU GET SAVED, HUH, YOU'LL BECOME THE SALT OF THE EARTH. FATHER, THERE'S SOME HOMES HERE THAT NEED YOUR SAVING SALT. THERE'S SOME SCHOOLS THAT NEED SALT. THERE'S SOME OFFICES THAT NEED SALT. AND I PRAY, DEAR GOD, THAT YOU'D MAKE, YOU'D MAKE THESE YOUR CHILDREN, SOME OF THEM WHO'VE BEEN GOOD FOR NOTHING.
