… but ultimately remember it all came from God. Deuteronomy 8.18 says, remember the Lord your God. He's the one who gave you the ability to produce wealth. So we thank him. But we also pray about our needs. If you have a need, pray about it. James says you have not because you ask not. Do you have a need right now? It's a physical need, a financial need, a medical need, something else. Pray about it. Lord, would you give this to me? Now, of course, Lord, I pray, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. If there's something in this request that's outside of your will, overrule it. But Lord, I do need this, and I'm calling out to you, and I'm praying about it. You know, I've heard people describe a trip to Israel as seeing the Bible actually come to life. Hey, everybody, Greg Laurie. And I've been to Israel many times, and I've led a lot of tours, and I have to say that's absolutely true. …

But it's so easy to forget that it is the Lord your God that gives you the power, Deuteronomy 8.18, to get wealth, to establish his covenant in all the earth. And a giant called opportunity from an elevated place. he's no longer young. Everybody knows his name. He's famous. He's living on top of the world. I want to tell you why I'm preaching this, because in my lifetime, I started out with many preachers who I watched God raise up powerful ministries that have touched the planet. And I look around, and many of them were thrown off the roof. and I was praying about this. God, what is going on? And the Lord spoke to my heart about the book of Jude chapter one, and I believe it's verse 24. I don't know. I gave it to you this morning. There you go. And this verse went off in me. See, I really believe there's a fear of falling out there. If you've ever been a drug addict and you got off of it, there's always the fear of falling. …

The Habits of Financial Health - Part 1
Rick Warren, 2026-09-02

… not how much money I make in life. Now the Bible says this in Deuteronomy 8, verse 18, there on your outline. Always remember the Lord, your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth. God gives you the ability to produce wealth. Circle the word produce. I want you to notice that the Bible says, obviously, God owns it all and he loans it to us. We talked about this a few weeks ago that you don't really own anything on this planet. It's just loaned to you while you're here. It wasn't yours before you were born. It won't be yours after you die. You just get to use it for 80, 90, 100 years. But it all belongs to God. And after you die, he's going to loan it to somebody else. So you don't take it with you. You didn't bring it with you. But he says here, God gives you the ability to produce wealth. Now, every economy, including America's, has wealth makers and it has wealth takers. …

Zach Fulginiti | Food For Weak Faith
Zach Fulginiti, 2026-07-13

… good in the end. Beware lest you say in your heart, my power and the might of my hand have gotten me this well. You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers as it is this day. Notice three things, that the people of God were warned of forgetting the commandment, of forgetting the Lord's provision, and of forgetting what God had done for them. We tend to say and we tend to think that if we saw something miraculous, some kind of divine intervention, I could never forget that. We tend to think that if only the Lord spoke directly to us as he did in days of old, if he gave us some kind of sign from heaven, if he answered our prayers for deliverance from our trials that we would never forget him. And yet, is this not what we know happens to the Israelites? …

… I love this scripture. Deuteronomy 8 verse 18. And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant, which he swore to your fathers as it is this day. For it is God who gives you the power to get wealth. Notice what the Bible is teaching us. God doesn't give you wealth. He gives you the power to get wealth. So God's never going to Venmo you all your money. God's going to give you strength to get up and work a job. He's going to give you ideas and creativity. He's going to give you the script to write, the song to write, the show to host. He's going to give you the job to build. Come on. God gives you wealth. No, God gives you the power to go out and create. I want to tell you today, you are not created just to consume. You were created to build. And so God gives me the power to get wealth. …

… Thank you. Deuteronomy 8 verse 18 says you shall remember the Lord your God for it is he who gives you power to get wealth that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers as it is to this day that word establish in my translation I think in some translations is the word confirm it actually means to confirm. What's the point? He gives you the power to get wealth that he may confirm his covenant. Now think with me on this. The power to get wealth is not some ability to magically cause dollars to reproduce. The power to get wealth is to work with money creatively so that it solves problems and it brings you a return. the power to get wealth is the wisdom to use resources in a way that people around you are benefited but there is a return it's called profit for your contribution that is normal, it is right it is actually biblically expected this idea to operate without profit in a business you can only do that a short time before you're at the food bank it's not the way it's supposed to be it's normal and proper for there to be profit when the Lord says he's given us the power to make wealth, it is a strength and ability to use whatever God's given us. As Eric mentioned last week, to stay in our lane, to stay in our place of responsibility, in our place of assignment, and use the resources we have …
